So, I have been lurking in this thread for a while and I think its time I add my .02 I have been trying to use these techniques with the SU-33 trying to land on the Kuznetsov. I have to say if you truly want a challenge and have FC3 or want to try the Russian carrier based aircraft in DCS to try it out with the SU-33. It is not easy at all to stay on glide slope when approaching the Kuznetsov, lining up is not easy either as the ship is moving forward... Anyone trying to land on a stationary ship is not doing it right in my book... Anyways, I can land this SU-33 perfectly onto a stationary runway... But when it comes to landing on the Kuznetsov, even in ideal weather conditions it is very difficult to stay on glide slope it gets even more difficult when you get closer to the ship, about to touch wheels down. I find that I'm always catching the first (ramp strike) or last (bolter) wire You guys trying to do this stuff in the A-10C, i'm sorry but doing this with the SU-33 on the Kuznetsov is a whole new ball game and if you really want to practice for the hornet... I suggest landing the SU-33 on the Kuznetsov and mastering that. Until you try it, you won't see how difficult it is. And if any of you experienced naval aviators might be able to give me some pointers on landing the SU-33 on the Kuznetsov and help me get better proficiency that would be great. I'm mostly having problems with staying on glide slope, over correcting and trimming. I'm running 1.5.8 Stable release, maybe some stuff has changed in 2.5 OB -

I am wondering if the Kuznetsov glide slope indications are even correct on the ILS needles. Maybe that is the problem? I can land at Mozdok right on the money following the glide slope needle in the SU-33... But the carrier is a whole different ball game. What wire are the Russian pilots trying to aim for? I know for the US Navy its the 3rd wire, is is the same for the Russian Navy?

After some testing using 1.5.8 stable release, I think on both the SU-27 and SU-33 the ILS needles, ADI director, and ADI bars as well as the HUD are all showing different glide slopes and directions to the pilot for landing. Shouldn't all those instruments be giving the same guidance to the pilot with the exception of the ILS needles on the HSI as they are more sensitive as far as I am aware?

are they using AB for a bolter or just MIL power? -
Does the A-10A have a radar altimeter? Does it IRL? if not... How am I supposed to know my altitude above the ground when I am trying to Fly low level combat tactics like Andy Bush from SIMHQ IE: below 300ft AGL and even below 100ft AGL at times. Also, there seems to be no way to change barometric altimeter in the A-10A in game from what I have seen.

I am still experiencing this problem on my Kindle fire... It is giving a security warning message that forums.eagle.ru may not be that and might be attackers trying to gain access to my device... If you want the warning message verbatim in its entirety I can provide that to you so you may troubleshoot.
