Because it is intended as a STUDY. SIMULATION. If the aircraft was intended and advertised as being FC3 or Il-2 level, you could have a point. But for something that is advertised as a study sim I expect it to be as realistic as can be reasonably gotten. We're not nitpicking a 5% performance difference or an external model that has the screws in the wrong place. We're talking about important pieces of avionics, weapons and flight modelling that are completely missing or Ace Combat levels of wrong. By the way, cost and platform limitations are nonsense. Other modules have managed fine. The fact that even something as simple as a clock isn't implemented is just unforgivable.

I'm not sure what the objective of this thread is. This is just an op-ed

It seems they deleted the wrong main site image. The image that says $47.99 is the pre-order image (as it says it the right-bottom of the image). The store link itself still says $59.99. For a sale I would wait for the famous Summer and Christmas sales :)

Damn, where do I even begin? :D Landing speeds, roll rates, behavior on AoA, sudden mayhem flight departures, the faults in the FM are quite diverse and extreme. I would suggest to read through the flight envelope as documented here and try and recreate it in DCS: http://www.avialogs.com/en/aircraft/ussr/mikoyangurevitch/mig-21/mig-21bis-pilot-s-flight-operating-instructions.html They nailed the FM last summer, but for some reason it has gone totally on the fritz. Weapons selector: The current implementation is that for you have to manually set the weapons selector knob to the pylon that you want to use. In the real plane, the weapons selector knob is only there to choose the first pylon. After that it uses an automatic sequence, so there is no need to touch the knob during combat. https://leatherneck-sim.mantishub.io/view.php?id=81

I'm less than enthousiastic about the module, since quite a lot of stuff is either missing, broken or erroneously moddeled. I posted a list about this a couple of weeks ago: I would avoid this module until it is actually finished. Which is a shame, considering the love I have for the real-life MiG-21.

Will this change also mean the following BS gets updated? - RSBN/PRMG/ARC - Clock - Weapons Selector - ASP - Flight Model - External sounds - Afterburner sync - SAU - Radar that does monopulse instead of Doppler - Radar that respects RCS and doesn't immediately recognize full AC, regardless of RCS, when the AC gets into maximum detection zone of RP-22

That's why the US knew all about USSR air defense technology
Vincent90 replied to JunMcKill's topic in Military and Aviation
I just LOVE how these arguments aren't based on any real understanding of intellectual property, and you have zero first hand experience with a) the russian court system b) russian business culture c) IP lawsuits d) basic knowledge of what constitutes IP and why it is protected I'm done with this forum and basement experts. -

Ok, so what legal hurdle should that be? :music_whistling: Always great, these armchair experts around here... -

Absolute and utter tosh. There is not a single legal hurdle for anyone to make an aircraft computer game. Get a law degree or keep schtumm. -
Can you blame them? Every single snip of news comes with an avalanche of whining about "broken promises" and "lack of info". Amazing that not every dev goes the BST/Polychop way and keep radio silence until the moment is there to share with nerd town =/

The day this technology works properly, i'll eat my shoe

Go read a book about the MiG-25

Su-15T/TM or MiG-25 We definitely need some soviet anti-bomber love

It's like meeting the woman of your dreams and suddenly you realize you'll never see her again... =/ Better change that thread title though

Probably/hopefully a typo, the ML(A) was codenamed Flogger G, the MLD was Flogger-K
-
By the way, does someone happen to have the Mig-23ML/MLA and Mig-19P Flight Operations Manuals? As weird as it is, I can't find them anywhere on the internet. All English, German, Serbian or Russian versions will do
-
Здравствуйте! У какой-нибудь один есть инструкция летчику миг-23мл/мла и миг-19п? Буду очень благодарен!
-
Yeah, that were the MLD's. There are some internet rumors that earlier 23/27's could have a modified centerpylon that would accept the standard soviet flare/chaff dispenser, but I call it a myth until I see pictures/documents that prove otherwise I'm actually glad we wont get the MLD's, they were not as fast, nor as stable, as the MLA's. The pilot workload should be massive enough as it is, and I doubt the more advanced avionics made it a lot better.

A raffle is a good way to do that. Participants register themselves in the thread, and after a week or so the registration closes. After that, the winner gets selected through a random numbers website, with the drawing done by a neutral party, like a moderator.
-
Amazing, just amazing. The MLA and P variants are very well selected and should give enough difference with the avionics package LN has implemented on their Fishbed. My only fear is they use their guesstimation on these birds as they did on their Mirage. If not, they just sold 2 modules ;)

Grudge Match Series- Round 3: Mig 21 Vs F-5 & AJS-37 Viggen!

That Fishbed livery looks awesome btw, is it a public livery? -
Neil, it's intended to be a simulation. If there is something fishy about how the avionics work, which has no gameplay benefit, and is already been recognized by the devs as erroneous and on the bug list, then it is a valid argument in a discussion to bring the issue up.
