Regarding the new Mig-29 model and other Mig-29 versions
Vincent90 replied to carss's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Oh Firmek, don't be sorry :) -
This. Large container ships and tankers need a couple of kilometers to do anything, let alone manouver around another vessel in one of the busiest sea lanes in the world. Doesn't the US Navy post look-outs on the ship? Serious question.

Come on, I seriously doubt you don't constantly run into the NTTR map not having the actual NTTR, the SAMs ported from Ace Combat, the AI FM, damage model, useless cluster munitions, laser-guided AAA, lack of GCI and HUD glass being made of sunglass. And that is not even counting the standard bugs and inaccuracies of the 'finished' modules, and the low chance that the 'stable' branch is actually stable. But hey, at least we'll soon have American trains and more beautiful explosions!

Pierre Sprey & Lt. Col David Berke debate

Ok, and why is that? "Just because" isnt an argument It had more to do with the relevance of four different 5th gen fighter programmes being doubted after the end of the cold war. P-80, XB-70, F-14, F-15, F-16 F-22, B-2, Eurofighter, Avro Arrow, and those are just a couple of them. -

Nonsense, there are plenty of valid arguments to be brought against the F-35 program. "Is it a relevant aircraft?" is the most important one, one that has been doubted since before the program even started. THAT was the reason why the aircraft needed to be a jack of all trades in the first place. That the question still stands 25 years later says a lot. That the answers only concentrate on the capabilities of the aircraft and the amount of jobs it generates, says even more. -
DCS: Me 262 Discussion (Development on hold currently)
Vincent90 replied to NineLine's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
If I were you, I would request the official trainingsfilm from the Bundesarchiv. It saves you a lot of time and effort filtering the crap available online. -
You just want your very own Lockheed bribe, don't you? ;)

The Revi-16 is already used on the Kurfurst, so using another gun sight (that is still historically accurate) makes sense.

Thanks a lot for the videos, great effort!

To continue on Frederf: Also, the flight clock is still missing and all signal reception on the aircraft work binary (appear/disappear) instead of analog (getting stronger/weaker). Belsimtek's Korean fighters don't have this issue, so it can be done. For accuracy, I can vouch for the MiG-15 for being as accurate as can be done, within DCS limitations. Perhaps a bit too simple of an aircraft to buy for full-price, but everything is beautifully simulated.

@Rage: The main issues the users have with the module is that, 3 years after launch, most systems in the cockpit are either not working or an unrealistic approximation of the real thing. People expected these issues to be ironed out as time went by, but the team just went "yeah, we're stopping development and call it finished". Development seemed to be picked up again after Dackard left the company, but this hasn't been put through. Considering the price of the software, and it was advertised as a simulation, this ticked a lot of people off.

I'm impressed! I've been looking for desk-guardian Flankers and they're nowhere near this level of quality. One tip: The frontal "34" decal looks quite glossy compared to the paint work, there are probably some tricks out there to make the decals more in line with the paintwork.

English MiG-25 flight manual leads
Vincent90 replied to brianacooper11's topic in Military and Aviation
There are english translations of the MiG-25P flight manual in the Japanese and American national archives. Someone just needs to make a FOIA request to get them. -
Huh, I see an F-16 wishlist thread pretty much every month  https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=153019&highlight=f-16 https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=185302&highlight=f-16 https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=181084&highlight=f-16

DCS World 2018 (New Format Stable Version)
Vincent90 replied to Woogey's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Here here! I've always found it exceptionally weird that ED went against the standard industry norm of one upgrade a year. It would just solve so many problems I don't even know where to start. -
I actually quite like the limitations of the MiG-21bis, it gives you a completely different gameplay than the FC3 fighters. I understand the MP crowd wants the most competitive fighter available, but from a Single-Player point of view the larger the difference between modules, the better.

What is "inappropiate" about looking for info about erectile dysfunction, when a browsing a videogame forum is considered fine?

Thanks for exactly proving my point

It's even more shocking that you can't voice valid criticism of the (increasingly worrying) state the DCS aircrafts get sold on these forums, without getting the fanboy army on your back. Fact: After 2.5 years, half of the systems are still missing and the only feedback we get are from the graphical variety. Leatherneck was doing a great job the first few weeks after the split, but it seems development has halted to "maintaining the status quo of september 2014". The binary "you're with us or against us" attitude on these forums really needs to stop.

Forrestal Development Update: Deck Crew WiP!
Vincent90 replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I'm more worried about the deck crew animations to be honest. Do you already have ideas how you're going to make them behave 'not-roboty'? EDIT: And wasn't a similar crew planned for the Viggen? And if that is the case; Is it still on the roadmap?
