  1. I'm just going to add that something seems really off just trying to hover. It cannot keep an altitude above ground. If I can find the sweet spot on the collective it will gain altitude to about 10 - 15 ft agl then back down to about 1 -2 ft agl. With me not touching the collective at all. It will mellow out over time and maybe oscillate from 3 - 7 feet agl. I think since the latest patch I can no longer replicate this sweet spot. If I can't find the sweet spot, which seems to be always now it will slam into the tarmac and skids across the tarmac for about 10 feet before I can lift it off the ground again and start the cycle back over again. Once again never touching the cyclic. Its as if the cushion of air that one expects to experience from the rotor blades down wash is not simulated correctly. And on top of this its within a software induced oscillation. Albeit a slow one. Also if I dare try to raise the cyclic (Logitech 3D Pro) a hair with my finger and I mean as gentle as I can touch the cyclic (stressing over touching it too much) I will no longer slam into the tarmac but raise 50 ft agl or more above the tarmac and then come down slowly to about 5 - 7 ft agl. Or raise 20 - 30 ft agl and still slam into the tarmac. Also this fun happens whether I trim (3 back 1 right.)
  2. Having same exact issue... and I use the beta as well. Close Doors (RCTRL-C) UV Lighting Rotator - FULL ON Battery - ON Alternator - ON Generator - ON Position Lights - FLASH Fuel Pump - ON Clock - Chronometer - On (20 Seconds then hit reset) Starter Select - ON (Wait for 25 RPM) Rotor Brake Lever - UP Fuel Flow Lever - > 25ish % (Page Up) -- Wait until Engine RPM and Rotor RPM match before continuing NOTE: AT THIS POINT I Get to about 30k RPM on the gauge maybe a little more, and then when the rotor RPM is synced up. I move on to the next step Fuel Flow Level - 100% (Page Up) Engine goes boom roughly 5 - 10 seconds after starting page up to 100% Fuel Flow.
  3. I just hope the 10 dollars covers his effort enough to justify having done it. I'm in. Can't wait.
  4. Take care Razbam... my prayers are with you all in Ecuador.
  5. raptorsim that there be secret...
  6. Has there ever been a thread about adding airports to the map by the community?
  7. Here is what I'm seeing, I don't understand why it disappears. For a second it might be there then it just goes away. I'm now trying to find out what PRF is. So I can't answer that.
  8. Maybe I should of said when I have a target that is locked up with an AIM-7 or AIM-120C on the VSD that is not head on. I have a 60 degree azimuth scanning zone and the target is literally 20 to 60 NM out and probably at a 18+ degree right angle aspect on the VSD. But it doesn't say anything.
  9. Why is it sometimes I get aspect and sometimes I don't when I lock a target in STT mode?
  10. I tried that. Turning World audio to 0% and the jet is still just as loud as ever. Both in 1.5 and 2.0 ETA: I just figured it out... Literally if I make a change to the audio then exit DCS, then restart it, my audio has changed. Sheesh. Apache600 thanks for the response. I think I should report this as a bug. Gonna play with it a bit more before I do.
  11. How do I turn down jet aircraft engine noise when in external view in 2.0, 1.5? Its blowing my ears out. Especially when I have on a headset. I've searched around (obviously my googlefu is sucking today) and some people are complaining but I don't see an answer to this.

  13. So cool MBOT! another Falcon player that would love to see Dynamic campaign generation.
  14. Cool! I worked on the proposal stage of that program. Was a lot of fun modeling up an F16 in the CAD system.
  15. I doubt this is easily available or maybe its just not possible. But does anyone know if its possible to get a copy of the Desert Storm ATO? Electronically of course. Did anyone ever make a good strategy book on how it was put together and has included an electronic copy of it? I know this would ever only be interesting to a small subset of gamers outside military circles... but you never know.
  16. Just learning the editor myself, so can't help specifically. So just putting this out there in case you don't already know. But I find it enlightening to open the .miz file as a zip (rename it from .miz to .zip or use 7z to just <right mouse click><open archive> and go through it. Plus copy the mission to my own saved games mission folder and open it in the editor and look through how they set up their triggers and such. Just a thought.
  17. Tried your suggestions and sadly it didn't work so I did a repair: DCS_Updater.exe repair That didn't work so I then resorted to trying an update: DCS_Updater.exe update After it did its thing, I re-ran DCS 2.0 and went to the DLC and hit the install button. That fixed it. :pilotfly:
  18. *sigh* To find this post and think it might come to be than realize its not. double *sigh*
  19. Gizzy, thanks the updater command totally worked for me!
