  1. Yea I made the statement that the other two facts were not related to his question. Also I remember them saying something about the lack of ozone was bad for their eyes. So I guess the only thing I can draw from this is ozone protects us from ultraviolet rays which is good for the paint, your skin and eyes. Article here talks about the recovering ozone layer. The hole is seasonal, and won't be fully recovered until 2050. Its definitely on its way to recovery though as you suggest. ;) https://www.smithsonianmag.com/science-nature/ozone-hole-was-super-scary-what-happened-it-180957775/
  2. When I was working on the C130 AMP program we had the LC130 crews out of Williams Field / Pegasus Field (I might have this wrong) Antarctica talk to us about the hole in the ozone and its effect on their aircraft. They said it would peel the paint on the upper portion of the fuselage at altitude, and was not good for their skin. Never heard anything else about it. Two other things of interest which are not related to your question were: A. They said in fact yes global warming was a thing because of all the back and forth that goes on with that subject. I guess Pegasus field was becoming a problem with melting. If I understand correctly it is now shutdown. They proceeded to show us slide after slide of the effects of their melting airfield and the the bay area over the years and how it was getting worst. B. They could never ground the aircraft in the arctic and the aircraft would start to have problems with static electricity buildup; avionics would start acting up. Finally when they landed at a land based airbase their would be a huge discharge upon touchdown. If I remember correctly a huge spark upon landing.
  3. This is exactly what I thought, because of the 'PERSIAN GULF' war, or 'GULF' war. Also I would assume why this very thread came to be.
  4. If you're not on steam you could try a repair install. Otherwise... I'm positive I don't know what to do to help you. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=114030
  5. When replaying a track in VR with the L39C, I get this weird grey box with tons of parameters in it. How do I get rid of it?
  6. Its range is pretty short... you sure you can get back?
  7. Trying not to get my hopes up.
  8. Geeze what a surprise... the F-16 is the clear leader. Though kinda surprised a Russian SU aircraft didn't take second. Of course we need more votes before I can really say this.
  9. As long as it was huge with a bundle of airports... like more than 12 and lots of navaids... I would be all over it. Of course what we really need is water-world... which one would think would be free as it would have zero everything except the ability to add ships and carriers.
  10. Would like to have a ground crew present in front of aircraft when you select to refuel and/or rearm so you don't inadvertently forget what your up to. Yea... I've managed to move away while aircraft was still connected. Also it would be cool to have them there while you start up as well. But that's just icing on the cake. I guess permission to taxi would make them go away after startup.
  11. Are you sure you don't mean you wish to disable the mirror instead of removing the mirror? As disabling the mirror increases performance.
  12. Great. They probably need to update the FAQ regarding campaigns... as it appears some folk expect one.
  13. My guess is the last Friday of the month. So the 26th.
  14. This would change so many things... Learning aerobatic flying would be awesome. And if you could make a plane fly part of a profile... dog fight training would take a leap forward.
  15. RIP... *sigh*
  16. Thanks... much appreciated. :)
  17. Is there any KA-50 documentaries videos out there that are in English? Or one with English subtitles that aren't auto-generated? Can't find anything.
  18. To answer the OP its: Pre-Order. Save 20 bucks. Then wait; no salivate with dripping anticipation for the coming day when you can sit in the F18 on the aircraft carrier and launch. Then recover.
  19. Yea, its a good question... I had the h2o switch on trying to refuel at 15,000 ft and couldn't stop accelerating. Once I was done refueling by using my nozzles to slow down. I realized I left the h2o on. :(
  20. I think most folks are gonna say Yes. For me its a big fat YES!
  21. I removed the batteries from my touch controllers ages ago. My conclusion was that they are a kludged solution. I can just imagine trying to manipulate the throttle and stick in formation for a refuel, letting go of the throttle so I can find where I last left my touch controller so I can then throw a switch or touch a button. Seeing that I'm slowly backing away from the formation. Needing to touch the throttle but can't yet cause I now have the touch controller in my hand. Throw the switch... desperately get rid of the touch controller and adjust the throttle before getting too far away. Uh huh... That will be fun. Worst than grabbing the mouse. Gonna need holsters for the controllers.
  22. Wow a compound one sided poll. Geeze what should my choice be here?
