  1. I just thought about this topic today and did some testing. I can tell the OP at least for the Mk5 vs Mk 151 rocket there is a NIGHT AND DAY difference in accuracy. The Mk151 blows the older FFAR Mk5 out of the water. So there is that.
  2. Yeah, good thing the radar on the Hornet is in top shape too.... It works both ways.
  3. try the target unlock/nws pale switch while in IRMAV mode. I've never had an issue with this, but I engage from max distance with my mavericks so I have never needed to unlock, but I think it works. But do it in IRMAV so it unlocks the MAV, do it in INS or DMT and it'll unlock your whole system.
  4. Thanks Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  5. It's usually more helpful. I k ow the a-10 landing light looks fine. It looks like the harrier's landing light is aimed down. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  6. While I completely agree with you, except in extreme circumstances (heat and altitude) if you need the extra percent with water in, maybe you shouldn't be VTOLing, haha Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  7. They need the CC, SR and TR and LNs to work. The abbreviations are at the end of the S300 names Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  8. Shame. Still missing a few features in the TPOD we need. Random unrelated questions, in HTS mode is SSS up supposed to take you back to the menu? Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  9. That's what I thought. Haven't seen how to make that work. I'm assuming it's for the MAV FOV. Maybe a press and hold before target designation to decrease the FOV. Didn't work. But they named it that. So I assume it came from somewhere. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  10. But what isn't done completely, in my mind is the damage modeling for the ground vehicles. Example, knock a Trac off the tank and he's down for a while until the crew can get it fixed. Pressure waves giving the crew TBI and mission killing them. Not the tank. Puncturing tires. Shrapnel in the engine. Shrapnel in the driver's face. This is what the game doesn't have. That's why a close hit IRL takes out vehicles and not in game. In game it's a DP equation. So maybe the blast radius is right. But there is more to it than that. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  11. We do have the Mk-81 in and loadable. What I was more reffering to is where you can load the stores at. Example, the Mk-81/2 series per this document can be loaded on the centerline station, two even without the gunpod. We can load 3 Mk-83s on stations 5/3 which according to the document you shouldn't. The rocket pods can all be loaded with 2 on stations 2/6, which we can't do in game. And our current options for the GBU-12/16 appear incorrect according to this as well. We've got the right stuff. Yes. I'm just checking if the loading options are accurate.
  12. I found this in a NAVAIR document. Can anyone shed light on if this means the loadout options we have in game should be expanded? I've got to go to work and can't keep digging on this one.
  13. Oh I have them. Request was to make them standard in the install.
  14. There is a night attack for you. I've been flying a lot of Cold War scenarios in Normandy, would love to see some of these late 80 early 90s camo skins put into the standard rotation.
  15. It'd be an encoder, I guess if you want a rotary cool, but that'd be weird. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  16. The harrier is using sectional charts the A-10 is using a tactical chart in that photo. The tactical chart is designed for more detailed information (as clearly shown) ultimately what is displayed is a result of what is loaded into the aircraft. The Harrier being a faster jet spends less time in an area so the theory goes it doesn't need a chart as detailed. Stateside at least. A sectional is more than sufficient. On top of that the USAF has significantly more resources to devote to ordering and installing different levels of charts into it's aircraft than the USMC. The Marine Corps would just hand the pilots a paper chart and say deal with it. "More with less" it's what the USMC is about. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  17. Oh man. I'm down to 0.1 haha. It's a tad quiet. But I can still hear comms. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  18. That is my point, because of this modeling if the FLIR being what it is, is be more useful to have the black and white projecting so the HUD elements are always visable. Despite the FLIR not working as intended. That way his elements are never hidden by the FLIR because it will not and cannot display the same color for HUD elements and floor elements. 19. Check that your throttle is in the cut off stop and not the idle stop. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  20. Take it out over the water. Like I said. It's useable. But fact is there exist a possibility for the FLIR and the HUD symbology to display the same color, thereby washing the information out. Less of an issue away from water, but trees have the same effect. My point is, something isn't right, avionics designers wouldn't set it up to wash out information important enough to have .add it in the HUD. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  21. I've been thinking about the FLIR and how it works inside of DCS. My thought is at least for the HUD FLIR is to go back to the black and white overlay. I understand it's less realistic. But what is the point of realism if it is unusable in the SIM. I flew a pretty involved night mission in Normandy near the coast yesterday and while the FLIR is usable, it would be much better for the time being in black and white. (See Below) Reason being is with the core FLIR system being less than optimal, and the trees and water maxing out temp wise, your HUD elements get washed out, constantly. Over water, you really have a hard time using the FLIR at all. It is my understanding ED is or has plans to work on the FLIR and in the future maybe the green overlay will work. But for now, I wish upon a star to get the Black and white overlay back for the HUD. ${1} Thought on this?
  22. Nope that's all it uses. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  23. So, I can't find anything on the FOV toggle of this button. What FOV toggle does it do and how does one use it.
  24. I finally saw this last night. The cause was the parking brake was not set. To fix, you need to set the parking brake, turn off the INS and restart the procedure. Make sure the UFC is expecting the right coordinates when you enter them in. (IE if it wants W/E you need to make sure you press POS and go to N/S or enter in E/W)
