  1. Eh, in a good crosswind having NWS on bothers me. Personal preference Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  2. To dampen out yaw control on the takeoff run to avoid over controlling. But, if you are always doing STO, It wouldn't really matter. This is DCS, so your engine won't fail, you won't have to abort, so it's really just roll play. You do you. hahaha
  3. This is one of my biggest gripes. I hope it comes out soon. I've been waiting since they released a statement on it last year on Facebook. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  4. Because some have switch panels and such and have request for those functions. You never know some one else's set up or desire.
  5. The ghost velocity is a representation of the flight path adjusted for wind. So it's where the aircraft is actually headed. In the harrier we only see it in NAV mode as the HUD is automatically uncaged in AG mode and caged in VTOL and AA mode. The issue is that currently the ghost velocity vector actually shows the toght thing but the regular one does not stay level with it. That's why when you're making turns you need to reference the ghost for aircraft attitude. Makes precise flying hard. And, it has a side effect of making the VTOL vector incorrect (try to fly a level break turn in VTOL mode with the velocity vector to see what I mean). I realize its probably not a big deal to everyone. But it's a big one for me. Just personally. And the 8 way controls are for a TDC up, down, left, right AND up left, down left, up right and down command. I use an 8 way hat switch for my TDC which works great for me. But I can only go up down left and right, diagonals would be nice. And the axis for all you weirdos that use that haha. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  6. Loving the updates. Below are just a few request I hope to see addressed in the future. Keep up the good work. Ghost Velocity Vector not staying level with horizon (it stays level relative to velocity vector wing line currently) TPOD Sensor head not stowing in STBY mode (it stays in bore sight currently) 8-Way controls for TDC (currently only 4-way)
  7. At this time, recruiting for the 1st VFW is closed. I will update when it opens again.
  8. Update: Looks like the Communications menu button does what the Radio ICS button used to.
  9. So I rebound some of my controls and the RADIO ICS button is bringing up the jester menu. This is in addition to the jester menu key. Side effect is not I cannot activate the radio menu with the ICS button then the radio PTT like I had it set up before rebinding. Open Beta update 2.5.4.29167
  10. Don't @ me
  11. Ok. Good luck Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  12. Important to remember the A/A and Cruise modes only show the horizon and +/-30 degree lines. T/O, LND, and so on show increments of 5 degrees Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  13. Fake announcements are all well and good, but this is ridiculous. Hardy har, it's stupid aprils fools day, yeah I get it. I'm getting one day this week to fly this sim, I don't feel like dealing with this.
  14. Fixes: Bingo selection knob which rotations very, very slowly Jester Additions: Radar scan beamwith selection Radar barscan selection TID orientation/presentation selection (Center, decenter, track up, north up) Rational being, Jester isn't a human and isn't really in control of the radar or what the fluight crew wants to search for, that's going to be the human pilot flying the aircraft. Idea is to allow the pilot better customize what his TID looks like to best assist him with finding and sorting targets, as well as viewing the battle space around him Pilot commands: Afterburner detent bind and special options as detailed HERE
  15. Have the mission maker make the Mi-8 spawn in parking spot 3 or 4. Also, Mi-8 isn't really supposed to be operating from the Tarawa.... So there is that. But in the vein of DCS's 'sandbox-ness' the above should help
  16. There is a BVR menu, and a WVR menu, They should be the same as the contextual menu (I'm making an assumption here, as I haven't checked) but you should be able to program you vioce attack to press A-A to get to the main menu and do things that way. Or you can program it to use the contextual menu, but you need to know when that menu is going to be set (IE, don't try to give a WVR menu command on the ground). I don't think there is much of an issue here, you just need to look at the main menu instead of the contextual one.
  17. I read through that thread, but in my mind these aren't the same issues. In the hornet/harrier the aircraft fail to remain stable while rearming/refueling. In my experience this is the only time these two aircraft move. Even then, they wobble about a spot and return there, then do that again and again until the rearm/refuel is finished, ending in the same spot. There used to be an issue with sea state and more particularly when the ship turns (the script I use slows the ship for turns now so I don't know how that's been recently). The Tomcat on the other hand moves for me both when rearming/refueling (expected as every other jet does) but also when the ship turns or seemingly with sufficient deck roll. This movement, which is different than the hornet/harrier while rearming does not return to the same spot. In fact, if my ship is turning, the tomcat seems to not turn with the ship, allowing it to slide across and off the deck. I have also noticed the sliding is mainly only present while aligning, maybe a much lesser degree otherwise, but my issues have always been during the alignment process. Having read through that thread you linked, I'm not convinced it's the same issue. My tomcat sliding issues are unique to the tomcat under specific conditions, not the same as the other aircraft in the same conditions. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  18. This is just one of those things that when you see it, you can't unsee it. But the ejection seat arming lever does not move in the mirror regardless of its actual position.

  20. Check out Wrenches carrier script. It allows you to get that info, have the ship sail into the wind, stay in a particular area, can spawn tankers and have them fly over the ship. Found HERE I promise it's easier to do than it looks. I'll save you some time and give you this line you'll need to put into the mission editor to get it working. If you need help, I can break it down for you. Wrench.wind_setup('Tarawa', 50000, nil,{'Tarawa Tanker'})
  21. is a reason to say "Good idea, we can look into it later" or "We won't do that" This has been brought up by a number of people in a number of places, they can't both be active and looking at the forums (there words) and not have time to acknowledge

  23. Any particular reason the only acknowledgement of this has been to "listen to the clicks in the sim" from the Heatblur team? I'm actually curious why to not consider this? I've given the clicks a solid try for the last couple of weeks, but have run into problems relying on them. - Hard to hear over jester at times - Hard to hear over the radio at times - The 'click' actually encompasses a range of throttle movement, at what point in the click actually full military power - Running through the click during ACM (divided attention) - Accidental selection of afterburner at undesirable times + On trap/bolter with a fast selection of mil + On the catapult + At night trying to avoid selecting afterburner + During TACFORM maneuvers I mean, I do appreciate the time taken to give the detent a sound, but why not give the detent a detent then?
  24. It's DCS wide. You'd have to rearm the fuel tanks. Side note, if you defuel, it will defuel the fuel tanks, so sometimes you can rearm the tanks to empty then defuel to save time Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
