[DCS Bug] Sliding Around the Deck / GLOC on Cat Shot
Shadow_1stVFW replied to madcat911's topic in Bugs and Problems
Sliding around on the deck is a uniquely tomcat thing. Specifically when the carrier is turning the tomcat does not stay with the ship. It'll slide a bit (like other modules do when rearming on a ship) but it does not return to its relative position on the ship. Meaning if you're on an elevator and the ship starts to turn, you will either fall off the ship or slide across the deck and fall off the other side. I haven't seen this in other modules for a very long time. Example: -
I mean, if code can place you you nose wheel in the correct position, it can surely align the aircraft too. I wouldn't call it a trivial issue if you are able to damage the aircraft, or even worse, throw it into a spin off the ship. Not to mention, you may be barred from using external views, so your alignment method wouldn't work. I'm not a huge proponent of deck crew eating up CPU cycles, but that's just me. I'd rather the catapult code work better.

The 1st Virtual Fighter Wing is now recruiting. www.firstfighterwing.com Who We Are Founded in 2008, we are an international group of like minded individuals that enjoy combat flight sims. We have members from all over the globe. Over the years we've supported Falcon 4: Allied Force, Open Falcon, BMS, and now DCS. We pride ourselves on the professionalism of our missions while still having fun and not taking ourselves too seriously. We support the following DCS modules: F/A-18C, F-14B, AV-8B, and A-10C. What We Do We believe the primary purpose of a virtual wing is to make sure there are organized flights for members to participate in so we have recurring weekly standard flights each week with detailed briefings and debriefings. Utilizing real world manuals and our active and retired military pilots, we’ve worked hard to create a “close to real life” atmosphere while still vying to maintain the fun aspects of simply enjoying a simulation title among friends. When We Do It Our largest flight is usually our Saturday Weekly Standard flight at 1800z. We also have a Friday Night Mission series (8:30 CST) and there is a European Weeknight Flight (1900z) as well. You can see on our News page some examples of prior events or check out the videos below to see examples of our flights. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us on this forum or make a post on our forum. Thanks! Friday Night Mission Series Our Youtube Channel and Example Flights:

[DCS BUG] Tanker not responding when flying with human RIO

Didn't happen to us in multiplayer. He may have had your radio set to the wrong setting Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk -

A detent for the afterburner. Like the Horner and "Finger lift" keys To go with this, a special option for detent settings Off Carrier only Always on Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk -
I mean, through quality sorting between aircraft over the radio and STT. I don't see why not Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

Will Jester commands 'stack'? Specifically if I give a bunch of commands to input different waypoints at one time, will he work through them all then finish in however long he takes, or will he be interrupted and try to finish the last one? I usually just give him a bunch of waypoints and I think he does it fine, but I'm not sure.

[NO BUG] Suggestion : Keep Jester wheel with human rio
Shadow_1stVFW replied to Deadpoetic6's topic in Bugs and Problems
Not an issue for me, but I like the idea a lot. Probably wouldn't be hard but just send a message to the unit like the startup sequence does. Good idea Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk -
Specs in my signature. Long loading times in single player through the mission editor. Caused bad studders after a carrier landing Sometimes locks the sim up during loading Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
-
That's if you have a physical detent. I believe the OP is asking for a software one. Like I linked earlier Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
-
Or even just what the hornet has. I've been trying to press this issue for a while. Seems to be ignored https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3808535&postcount=1

But this isn't the greatest solution. By giving a button option I can place my throttles forward quickly and positively and not be concerned on whether or not I entered the AB, I know I did not unless I pressed the button. No need to look, no need to listen, I can be confident I'm where I want to be. Needing to listen for a specific sound when radios and going, Jester is talking, I'm paying attention to other stuff is a bit ridiculous. Please provide an option for a detent similar to what the hornet has. That's a better solution for some, myself included.

IRMV problems fixed - How to use Maverics correctly.

Wait a minute. Are you not using the HOTAS controls? I have literally never had an an issue where I needed to change a binding. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk -
You're doing something wrong, working fine. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

My issue is people here spread lies and call them bugs. That or just don't know what they are talking about. Example, a sole GBU 16 on either station 2 or 6 requires about a full diamond of deflection on the control indicator at 350 knots indicated, well less than 1/3 deflection and loaded rolls produce uncommanded rolls in the harrier (it's written right in the NATOPS). And AFC has nothing to do with the landing pattern as it's prohibited in that flight regime. I'd suggest looking into a better way of scaling your joystick than curves, curves are a terrible solution as they aren't linear with their output (and your brain works better with linear stuff) Try something like this instead: http://i.imgur.com/lx6qUiZ.jpg I have t used a curve for years in favor of this, and after I got my virpil gear I don't even use this, but I think you'll find it easier to use this than any curve setting Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

No. It doesn't, you can edit to your heart's desire Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
-
There is a file you can use to set up programs just like in the hornet. Download THIS ...DCS Wold\Mods\aircraft\AV8BNA\Cockpit\Scripts\EWS I use JSGME so you can do that or you can just edit it and drop it into your install. If you drop it into the install, you'll have to do this every time you update though. This is what I use
-
The Hornet EWS profiles are in the base install. I'm not at my computer at the moment, but I will check later and see if the harrier has a similar file and post here. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

I have seen this in MP as well.
