Heatblur Development Update - Thunder & Cat
Shadow_1stVFW replied to Cobra847's topic in Heatblur Simulations
Bro, I'm in VR. 1 for 1 tracking, all the way around, VR zoom, it's no fun. Like, the hydraulic transfer pump switch is difficult to get, but the beacon light actually hurts to look at. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk -
I'm fairly certain that's by design. I remember when the module was released they talked about hoping to be able to limit loadouts because, basically, you need the Phoenix pylons on station 3 and 4 (the front) for cooling I think. Or 5 and 6 won't work. Clearly they haven't found or gotten around to limiting for realistic loadouts. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

I'm aware of that. I'm asking about the behavior of the switches. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

Quick question on the AFCS operation. Is switching the Autopilot switch from engaged to off supposed to also disengage the solenoids for all autopilot switches? I know, as quoted above, the autopilot disconnect will do this. But that leads be to believe maybe the autopilot switch would not. I don't know, asking for clarification. So to be clear, if I select autopilot engage with the switch, leaving me in attitude hold mode. And then I select say, ACL, but then disengage the autopilot switch (not the disconnect on the stick) should the rest of the autopilot switches return to their neutral positions?

Ah, I see, couldn't see he was a team member on my mobile. Thanks!

[KNOWN ISSUE] Exterior lights not visible from cockpit

And? So is the ICS hot/cold mic switch, which still has audio Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk -
Anybody from heatblur have a definite answer on this? Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

RIO Seat Shaking Badly sitting on Carrier in Multiplayer
Shadow_1stVFW replied to VRSimRigs's topic in Bugs and Problems
Try Wrench's carrier script. It does that for you and points the boat in the correct direction. Gives you a lot of options. I can give you a mission with it in there so you can see how it works. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk -
Not my flex, but that's not a bad plan. The HUD as implemented isn't UNreliable enough to not be used during any phase of flight, change my mind.

Heatblur Development Update - Thunder & Cat
Shadow_1stVFW replied to Cobra847's topic in Heatblur Simulations
This, yes please. Having to crane my neck and zoom in on the top of the vertical stab to hopefully see the beacon is killing me Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk -
The impression was definitely that. I made quite a few post and PM's about that when the jet first launch. Looking back, I can understand at launch there are a lot of other things to look at, but, personally, I definitely felt even thinking about this was given the cold shoulder. It's a HUGE thing for me personally, and while I understand, the manual even states: "The throttles in the F-14 have detents preventing unintentional engine start and shutdown and unintentional selection of afterburner." That's all I want, I know there is a sound, but it's like three different clunks in the throttle motion leaving a large zone of what could possible be just before entering afterburner. And the engine gauges are still alpha model guages, so I don't have the greatest confidence in them. Fuel flow is a good indicator, but when I'm coming over the top in a fight and just want military power I don't like having to look, or listen. The way the F-5, F-18, and F-16 have a push button, I like. Again, just my opinion/request. But please just take a look at it.

I am 99.9% sure this has been reported before, BUT, since it's still an issue

At some point in the future will jester be able to add the Computer IP range, bearing and altitude delta through the menu, like a custom waypoint?

it takes 65% RPM to get an empty harrier to taxi

Oh, it's that simple? You should send in an application. I'm sure they could use your help. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk -

Even loaded I use 60% to move, 40% to stay moving at a slow speed. It's been a DCS issue forever. It affects every aircraft i fly. Rule of thumb, enough throttle to hear the engine start to spool keeps you moving. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk -
Cockpit readability in VR? Planned improvements?

Yeah.... That's why I said it. -

Shadow_1stVFW replied to Nealius's topic in AV-8B N/A
Well yeah, that'll definitely make it significantly harder to read. For me, turning down the caution lights so they don't wash out really helps, using VR Zoom. And in the harrier I move the eye position forward a bit (usually level with the two panels of the hud glass and forward to cut off about half the top line of the engine instruments). Of course your milage may vary. But. This thread has help me understand why people complain about visibility in VR running at those PDs. I sacrifice a few frames in congested areas. But I can live with it against the benefit of crisper view in VR, which to me, can't be beat. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk -

Shadow_1stVFW replied to Nealius's topic in AV-8B N/A
It's going to depend on your pixel density mainly. I notice a lot of people using 1.something. at 2.3 I don't really have an issue, i do need to turn the caution lights down though. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk -
Oh the ICLS works. It is just not compatible with the Harrier right now. If you want to land at night or poor (ish) weather, fly the Tacan on BRC down to 1,200 feet, maintain until like 3 miles. You should have the ball in sight, then land Non precision instrument approach, just flew one tonight in the pitch black, good fun. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

Shadow_1stVFW replied to Shadow_1stVFW's topic in AV-8B N/A
Oh boy this thread got high jacked and off topic. I'm not talking about the axis commands. I'm talking about buttons. We have TDC: - Left - Right - Up - Down I want TDC: - Up Left - Up Right - Down Left - Down Right I don't use an analog axis for my TDC. Haven't, not planning on it anytime soon. It's like 8.2 MM or something similar. I usually just round to 8nm Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

Or when no ATIS is available, set your altimeter so that your indicated altitude matches the altitude you are at. You can check that by using the F10 and housing over your location, or the airfield center if you're a hard core realist (as that is what would be published) or 70' for the boat.
