  1. AFAIK only AUTO PLT and ATTITUDE are used on the DCS F-15C warn panel as indicators. When AP is used (A then L-ALT + 1) the AUTO PLT warn light is lighted. Then, if BARO HOLD AP is selected (L-ALT + 4) the ATTITUDE warn light will light along with the AUTO PLT warn light. This is somewhat confusing as the L-ALT+1 command is for Attitude hold. :smartass: reference I found: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=123554
  2. Not sure if you're looking for explanations for what each warn light means..but: Also remember that in our version (FC3 simulation) that some of the warn lights are used more for indicators than what they are used for IRL. For example in DCS F-15 when you engage auto pilot the AUTO PLT lights on the warn panel as an indication that auto pilot is engaged. IRL the AUTO PLT warn light would indicate a problem with the system - same for the ATTITUDE warn light.
  3. F99th- Tricker, Raptor, Falcon15E, Kraut flying on the Aerobatics server
  4. JINX will be flying with Pyro above from the 99th (at this time I see only 34 of the 36 slots) we may have another but not confirmed. ----last second and all:thumbup:
  5. Just turn on invincibility. Once you go God mode there's no use for the dirty RWR - problem solved.
  6. Moose of the F99th's Dirty 33rd along with a few other 99th members participated in the recent Red Flag Rumble Round 2 hosted by the 104th. One of the better DCS vids I've seen in awhile; good hunting Moose. Plus Tacview of the event
  7. Can I ask for a DASH and Python-5's for my F-5 now? It only carries two and I'm not asking for upgraded radar or anything.
  8. Tricker of the 99th and some great Mirage PVP action
  9. A good physique is usually all that I require to get on my six Top priority of all fighter pilots/war fighters/emergency personnel/the guy in the cube next to me/bronies/my mom/the guy on the United flight is to go home alive. So anything that saves on saving life is going to be cherished. Sometimes I over romanticize a bit as a DCS fanboi and think about the purity of a knife-fight; but the reality is as stated above.
  10. Seems like you're OC'ing a bit and the added modeling of the gear lights might be what pushes it to near failure. Like your sitting right on the edge of the OC at 60FPS and the bam the LG lights crash the party. Probably needs to be moved to the PC HARDWARE.. section for a more in depth/expert look (Moderator to help move the thread).
  11. I think I may adopt that as my new call sign. "Miss Mag" - seems about right for my flights lately.
  12. I like this thread...much fight, so division. Actually I kinda like these threads on every gaming forum known to exist. " X thing is over-powered compared to Y - BALANCE!! " Or " why does X get this feature while Y does not - I WANT!! " But you know what the real killer is...the real over powered SOB? The mountain side; every single time I fly too close my jet exploders. No amount of flares or chaffy chaff will stop it, gun runs do nothing, cannot be picked up on the most advanced avionics, and yet everyone's wrapped up in production dates or what ANG had more $$$ for upgrades in 2003 vs 2007. If we get rid of the mountains I'd be happy...then of course I think we'd have to start talking about the mountains sneaky cousin - flat ground.
  13. Adam Makos has another book called "Devotion: An Epic Story of Heroism, Friendship, and Sacrifice". Korea war naval aviator perspective. Also on the Dead Center book; I recommend this to almost everyone I know interested in Military literature. Very good read and highly underrated IMO....was a little before its time in style.
  14. Thank you for your kind words. Truly, on behalf of the 99th and the members who create and host our missions; thank you. Stop by on our TS sometime and say hey. http://f99th.com/
  15. In one of the F-15C Training Campaigns landings are graded on certain limits. Speed, altitude, AoA, center of runway, and like the first 100 feet of runway. I'm paraphrasing and all limits have a +/-. I would reason that that same coding could be applied to carrier landings once you determine your perimeters/limits.
  16. In game you don't even have to land...'Esc', pick a new slot Much faster than landing procedure, landing, taxi, awaiting for the "Follow Me" truck, shut-down...I don't even think I've ever learned how to land :megalol: :smartass:
  17. I've only done it once and that one time was my first. It took me four months to research all the different components and basically learn how a computer works. I started with knowing next to nothing about PCs. Then once I gathered all the components it took me 24 working hours from cutting tape on the first box to starting up DCS. And it was well worth it. Here are some vids that helped me: and of course....my build video (DCS specific gaming PC):
  18. Everything on the list looks like it will work out just fine. -What I liked: 1) Good balance between CPU and GPU. DCS is more CPU driven but there wont be any issues with the i5-6500. 2) Great idea with the 6500 vs. the 6500K; saves on the added expense of a separate CPU cooler You can purchase everything on the list at once if you like....up to you really. Not sure where you live, but also check Craigslist for people seeing GPUs or other PC parts. Sometimes you get lucky. Also, with a $800 budget, and needing a monitor, there are plenty "Gaming PCs" already available that will more than support DCS... $650 http://www.microcenter.com/product/460713/Gamer_Ultra_GUA3700M_Desktop_Computer
  19. :megalol::lol: Laughing cause a thread that amassed a whopping 5 replies was necro-bumped from more than two years ago.
  20. new intro...let me know what you think.
