  1. Some Sweeper vids..
  2. Nicely done and put together. Thank you for your time to share this and show why this community is unique. Hats off to you and Bandsaw.
  3. Hey Skydog...not sure if you will ever find a definitive set "guide" that sets a standard for what everyone calls different things. But here are some links I found with a quick search: http://http://afthunderbirds.com/site/maneuvers/ http://interactive.sun-sentinel.com/thunderbirds-maneuvers/ http://www.pilotweb.aero/techniques-training/formation-aerobatics

  5. I'm working through some issues with SP and maybe could get some advice. When I play have have the game sound and TS3 put to my headset, as well as my mic from my headset. SP records both game and TS3 just fine when on through my headset but it does not pick up my mic. During playback of the SP file my voice with I use my mic is barely a whisper. I've tried tweaking the levels on both the device manager and the TS3 options with zero success. Do I have to buy a stand alone mic to specifically record what I am saying over TS3? Cheers!
  6. I know the feeling you're going though. Everything looks good on your list to crush DCS. Keep in mind that DCS is more CPU driven that GPU. And I think ARMA is the same (i've only recently started playing ARMA). So there can be some good trade offs that I can see if you want to jump up to the i7-6700K. You can go with a lower GPU, that would free up budget and with a lower GPU you could save some on the power supply too. I run the i7-6700K with a GTX 970 4GB and never drop below 90 frameson DCS. On Arma I've never seen anything under 60FPS. And both games are on ultra settings. Keep us posted on what you deside, and update us once complete. Cheers!
  7. This is one of those many many things I looked into while designing the build. This build was a first for me, and I probably spent four months researching everything. Because when I started looking into the build I literally knew nothing about the internal components/workings of PCs. When it came to budget I knew where I wanted the money spent, so for coolers it was a set range. At the end I was comparing this cooler to a water cooler. Both were almost exact in performance, price, and quality. So I made my decision based on personal ascetics...to me PCs with water cooler's look empty inside in the case....I knew from the onset I wanted it to look 'cool' so the big twin blower fans and chrome cooler fit well with the build. Wish I had some cool stat or comparison fact to throw out, but that's the reasoning.
  8. Here's the video of my first ever PC build. Specifically for DCS and video editing. CPU: i7-6700K GPU: EVGA GTX 970 4GB SC MB: Asus Z170-AR ATX MEM: HyperX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 SSD: Samsung 850 250GB HD: WD Caviar Blue 1TB Case: Phanteks Enthoo Luxe ATX Full Tower Cooler: Phanteks CPU Cooler 68.5 CFM Monitor: Asus 24" 144hrz (x2) Please ask any questions or give tips/comments. I'm looking for feedback on my first build. Plus check out my other F99th youtube vids if you like.
  9. Whoa whoa whoa friend. Improve? Improve a lot? Listen buddy, the F-15 is perfectly manuverable. No need to improve, or improve a lot on perfection guy.
  10. This was a big back and forth for me as well when parting together my PC. For me it came down to "what will I be using the PC for?" 1) I only PC game for DCS, so i5 or i7 didn't make much difference when you talk 6600K vs 6700K. So price was the discriminating factor. 2) Also long term. I plan to get at least 3 yrs to 5 max out of the CPU before looking to replace/upgrade. The i7 6700K just hit the market and the newer model, Intel quality reputation, and product life cycle/depreciation pushed me to the 6700K. 3) The largest tipping point for me is the "other than DCS" applications I would be running on the PC. My wife runs her own Youtube channel Vlog, combined we have our own 'family Vlog', and I now run my DCS Gaming Chanel. So editing, sampling, and rendering is the brunt of the CPU workload. Plus the 6700k is just amazingly fast....from press of the power switch I can boot and be running in 12 seconds.
  11. Don't be led to the dark side by disbeliebers. The Eagle is very perfectly manuverable. Accelerates in the climb, agile at low altitude, comfortable at high altitude, and lethal in the attack. Also this vid show that even under heavy, heavy load the Eagle still performs brilliantly.
  12. Very close to what I am running, you could/can save money on a smaller CPU (i5 6600K) and GPU (970/960). I only PC game on DCC; get 100-115 FPS on high everything running i7-6700K and 970, 16gb DDR4. Keep in mind DCS is more CPU bound the GPU so for DCS only that's where your trade off will come.
  13. I, for one, when flying in the F-15 am so perfectly impressed by how manuverable the plane is that I often forget that I am not actually flying the real thing. I also contemplate that if I had a girlfriend, I would remark to her that because the F-15 is so perfectly manuverable that I would vie that my skills against any data produced trying to prove otherwise. I am glad someone came out and said what we have all been thinking...well done chaps!
  14. Mine was (and is still in my work email signature to this day): "Avoid the Clap" - Jimmy Dugan
  15. First off...it's n00b. Jeez what a nab! In the other aircraft, say the SU-25 or A-10A that came with your original purchase where you able to use the mouse as pitch and roll control? Like before you bought the F-15 module? Next, this thread might help: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2689067&highlight=mouse+axis#post2689067
  16. Remember in the 90s and early 2000s lack of model enlargement was preferred? Then the Kim K's and the like started popping up and everyone was all "ewww I HATE model enlargement" while some were like "Sir Mix-a-Lot was right". Then after some time, everyone now is like "yay model enlargement is the best"...everywhere you look you find model enlargement contests and wide-angle cameras to help enhance the experience. But there's still a few that prefer their models small and with minimal detail. That's what this conversation reminds me of...and last time I few DCS; I don't remember the game launching me right into the Buddy Spike servers and not giving me the option to leave or stay...hmmm Anyway, Greg, Xcom, Buddy Spike, 373vFS, and anyone I missed; Keep up the good work!
  17. F99th server runs good MP maps on NTTR....not that I'm bias or anything.
  18. #3, then #2. Hard to ask for two days of the weekend, even harder for 6+ hours on one day.
  19. 0xDEADBEEF - when you copy the link for the youtube URL, just copy the jibberish (sorry don't know the real name) at the end of the URL (after the "=" sign) then click the youtube button and paste just the jibberish. Should look like this: [Y0UTUBE]w48wF8IRvtw[/Y0UTUBE] - Fixed above in your quote. ;)
