  1. I could see RAZBAM eventually doing a Yak 38, just because they will have the experience from the Harrier with the vstol/vtol

    F-15E?

Remember everyone the Mudhen wont be anyone near us for a few years at least. Talking specifically about the F-18C and even F-16C, the -15E is really a true strike fighter, something we need to remind ourselves of. I believe the Strike Eagle almost has a similar role as the B-1B in current conflict running precision strike missions and sometimes CAS. So in terms of the Mudhen being redundant with the Bug coming out soon, I disagree due to different roles. Just look at the payload of a -15E vs -18C, or look at pictures of both planes in combat operations in the last 25 30 years, the -15E is a far superior as a strike fighter. Just my thoughts though. I completely agree with your opinion on the Viper though with the Bug coming out. Just think of a squadrons worth of cordinated Strike Eagle's at 25,000 lgb'ing every structure in a small reason easily, thats why I think the -15E needs a spot in the game.
  3. I'm thinking the Harrier and than the Tucano. Just because there is much more excitement for the Harrier than the Tucano. 2017 should be a very US-Aircraft filled year. Harrier,Tomcat,Hornet,P40...
  4. Probably be released along side the hornet too... In all serisouness though, this is going to be great with more third generation soviet aircraft. A year really is not that far away!
  5. I don't know what thread to post this on so... Why aren't we getting a campaign with this module (or will we?) I want to buy the module but is there enough missions and things to do, I am really not a fan of multiplayer.
  6. This is great news. Thanks for the update Zeus!
  7. Nice pic, but yikes they dont call her Fat Amy for nothing
  8. I've been flying with the Extreme 3d pro for years, on all levels of flight sims (including BMS oh boy!), it really isn't that bad not having TRACKIR. Then again I've never used one so perhaps I just haven't seen the light yet...I just fly with my right hand and when hard evading I switch to my left and use my right hand for my mouse to look around. Trust me it's not hard, you do not need to dump hundreds of dollars onto a good HOTAS.
  9. I could not believe that the hundreds of copy's of blueprints where all lost. Where did you hear this from?
  10. Is the 2 billion dollar deal with Boeing still on though? Or was that a misinterpretation? Because if it is true new wings are being put on that is a big deal, meaning it most likely still got probably another decade before they sit in the sun forever. As I said before and this document said, its too far into the future too know
  11. I believe there is only 10 hog squadrons left, 6 of them being guard and 1 training/weapon school squadron I believe. In the last 10 years 10's of hogs have been sent to the yard and some of them are now being used and tooken out for even more scraps. The USAF high command is not really thrilled to tell everyone about delays with Fat Amy, and the massive controversy that surronds anything with the Hog. In my hopeful mind the Hog has perhaps a little over 10-15 years max with this new news that was mentioned in the articles, the airforce needs a a dedicated CAS aircraft (even ifs smaller and lighter think Scorpion or Super Tucano) that they can operate cheaply. 35k an hour for fuel alone on a SINGLE F-35 is simply too exspensive, especially in the war we are fighting now, the one we have been fighting for a while and that will go on for a while too. I believe before this big news came out the USAF wanted to start retiring the rest of the Hogs from 2020-2022? It will be interesting to see if the A-10 is quietly kept in service for the next 10-15 years. We just never know, this is way beyond any of our heads. Nobody thought we'd be using F-15's and F-16's as our main fighter force today, and both of those platforms will still be in large numbers well until the 2030-2040. We really dont know what will happen with the Hog, the plane has made such a mess politically. I really hope it will last and be around for some time, this article and quote has really brought up my hopes (I want to fly the Hog), but you never just know. What Im trying to get at is, while this news is great, you never know with the USAF, I really hope the Hog will stay around for atleast another decade (Im guessing this because they wouldnt spend 2 billion and get them all new wings just to have everyone retired in 6 years!). This is great news and I hope it truly is true, but atleast we know our believed Hogs will be keeping American's and their allies safe, and keeping our boys alive for some more years to come!
  12. Maybe its just me, but after the Harrier and Mirage 3, I really just hope RAZBAM will put in some unique jets, like the A-7 instead of some whirlybirds. But thats just me.
  13. Well as far as we know/what the military tells us :music_whistling:
  14. Anyone else see Bunyap's latest video about the new airbase where the F-117's were housed before they were publicly revealed and how from a technological/classified standpoint its easily possible it could make it into DCS. Makes you wonder...

    F-15E?

I think we all need to constantly remind ourselves that when we get our F-15E (which I'm guessing wont be in early access for atleast another 2 1/2 - 3 years), DCS will be beyond recognition. In regards to the multi crew, I believe 3 years will be plenty of time to for multi crew to be just another aspect of a module. Just think how crazi its going to be in just a short few years. Tomcats, Hornets, Viggens, Spitfires, Harriers, P40's, Hinds, Mirages, Tucano's, A-7's, multiple maps, working carriers, a-g radar, and who knows what else. Maybe its just me but I feel like so many of the problems with the game engine will be fixed by then and were just looking into the problems we have now too much.
  16. So is this going to be the most content filled module "out of the box" ever to be released into DCS, because we sure are getting a whole basket of treats to go along with this aircraft! Keep it up LNS!
  17. I'm so sorry Prowler! Even more sorry than reactivating an old thread!
  18. Great creativity in this campaign, especially in the humorous name! Its stuff like this that keeps the community going, keep it up!
  19. This comment is perfect
  20. Hey, So you think its just that certain people like certain things and just want to do that? Sincerely-Frixon28
  21. This is a great, simple comment and is very good answer. Sincerely, Frixon28
  22. Hey, Thanks for your information filled comment. Yes I agree with you I made I did come off a little arrogant, and it was a little personalized. The "lame excuses" was me going on a bit of a tangent because I know quite a few people who say they know everything about the military and aviation and how their the best yet when asked if they want to join the military they always come up with some really BS exscuse and change the subject. So sorry about that I shouldnt have gotten that personoal. In regards to your last sentence, hah! I am the dirty farmer peasant! I believe my question is a combination of both of how civilians are so incrsdibly interested in military gear (just look at the majority of the gun community) and people love reenacing killing each other and flying weapon systems (also known as warbirds). Sincerely, Frixon 28
  23. Hey, If you could quote part of my messages to show where I am being elitist it would be greatly appreciated and help me from ever again having a bad attitude. If I could give you my own advice I would recommend in order for you to have a bad attitude you should stop trying to make fun of random people you dont know and wont ever meet by saying they wont ever have friends with their current attitude. Also please dont say your not trying to bellitle me after making me sound like im apart of the DCS 1%, that attitude wont get you many friends. You grinded your axe and I grinded mine time to move on. Now, I dont understand where your getting this idea that im being elitist and entitled. Do i ever say that "because you never served you cant own a warbird"? I did not think so etheir. If it was not for our fantastic historians (which every warbird owner truly is) than pieces of history like these aircraft would not be known by future generations. I have read my post and your post over many times and i still wonder if i should have put down my intentions to join the airforce. If I didnt would you have tried to villanize me still, i dont know. I never said that the military was better, or that if you didnt serve your a bad person, or anything of that sorts. I was/still wondering why so many people have serious addictions (including myself) to these legends of the skies. To end this off to you Im sorry if your interpreting it as myself being elitist, I am honestly not trying to be, but thats up to you if you want to listen to what I actually said thats fine by me, just dont put words in my mouth please. Perhaps if you quote where you think im being elitist we could solve this better. Sincerely, Frixon28
  24. Hey everyone, Thanks for all your replies. Some of this are interpreting it as if im bellitling or trying to be entitled, this is not true and im sorry if you honestly thought of that. What I am trying to figure out is why is there so much interests in warbirds within the aviation community (this is an military aviation subforum), and what makes people so interested in them specifically. I am trying to figure out what makes people so into these kind of things. Looks at ww2 reenactors. They go to painstakingly precision to reenact a military unit, yet many of them have never served. I am just trying to figure out why they are so interested in it, not that they cannot be! Sincerely, Frixon 28
  25. Hey everyone, As I have just started my PPL I have ran into many people wishing that they "dream of owning a warbird" or "I'm going to get a P-51 Mustang!" or insert favorite plane here is going to be mine and I'm going to be a fighter pilot! To that I say rock on and follow your dreams! But when I ask them if they are going to join the military they just shy away or change the topic. Having an interest in Experimental Aircraft I always see these scaled down P-51's, or RV-8's painted with Normandy Invasion stripes, and whenever I ask these people if they where in the military they always say no. Their is dedicated forums to warbirds and owning them and most people their have 0 military experience. Even in flight Sims like this, why is everyone so addicted to warbirds and the military but never serve or have a real connection to that? I by no means am trying to be rotten or start a flame war of any sorts on how someones lifestyle is better than anothers, I just want to hear everyone's opinions on why the public is so interested with warbirds or anything military(such as reenactments). Personal stories are greatly appreciated and inputs from real pilots would be amazing! Sincerely, Frixon28 Edit - While I appreciate everyones answers, what I am really hoping for is some thought on the large amounts of WW2 replicas and painting civilian planes to look like P-51s (not that there is something wrong with that). I also cleaned up the original question to bring this thread to where I wanted it to be. - Frixon 28
