  1. I notice that the Mk 76s (BDU-33s) do not work on the Conventional Circle targets (They hit the target but do not release their smoke), just as reported in this thread: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=204306 Are there any solutions to this issue? I would like to keep it real if possible and use the Mk 76s for some Harrier training. P.S. Funnily enough if you hit the dirt strip of the Strafing Target the Mk 76 smokes.
  2. Not released yet. Here's hoping it is in the next update.
  3. Thanks for the great mod, Suntsag. It worked a treat for the MCALF I wanted to build.
  4. Great mod, Suntsag. I love the matting and functionality. Just one thing. I notice to use this mod you have to remove your previous Harrier Field mod and lose all the wonderful static objects that came with it. Will these objects be plugged back into the Marsden FARP mod at some point? Or have you created a standalone mod for these objects?
  5. Yes it does. This is in accordance with A1-AV8BB-TAC-000 AV-8 Tactical Manual Volume 1 at page 1-387.
  6. Same thing was happening to me a few months back: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=207531 I think I did a repair and that fixed it.
  7. I use these complex curves to marry up the in-game detent with the physical Shapeways detent. This curves allow for linear travel during the Idle to Mil throttle range. The AB range is slightly curved. The start is also heavily curved but that is not an issue because there appears to be a controller 'deadzone' between the idle, the start of physical travel and when the throttle actually begin to move in game. The steep curve actually eliminates this deadzone.
  8. I have encountered a strange glitch with the kneeboard in the Harrier that does not occur with other aircraft. After I have turned on the Kneeboard, if I hit the 'Turn Next Page' button ( ']' for me), the kneeboard page does not turn and instead the NVGs activate. Once activated the NVGs stay on and cannot be taken off (I tried both hitting the ']' key again and my key binding for the 'NVG On/off'). What is stranger is that my pilot does not have NVGs available (he is wearing the sunvisor on his helmet). I checked and confirmed that the ']' key was not bound to the NVGs and that it was still bound to the 'Turn next page'.
  9. A1-F18AC-NFM-500 NATOPS Pocket Checklist is the best one. It has a streamlined checklist in the front of it. The manual is declassified but there is no complete copy of it available anywhere for free. There are, however, a few Flight Manual sites that sell physical and/or digital copies of the manual.
  10. I am having an issue with the Harrier. SRS sees both radios (COMM1 and COMM2) and I can transmit and receive on both. BUT SRS is not registering when I change the preset channel on COMM2 and thus COMM2 is stuck on freq 30 mhz. Anyone else having this issue? P.S. SRS is registering when I change the preset channel on COMM1
  11. +1 An F-111 would be a day one purchase for me.
  12. After playing around with the Harrier a bit more, I have come to the conclusion that GrmlZ has the right of it: the Rotary RY axis is the best option for the Nozzle Control, and much better than the Slider1. With the RY axis you can tune the nozzles to the degree, while the Slider is all over the place. That said, I find the slider is not bad axis to use for the Nozzle Stop.
  13. On my x52, I use the Precision Slider for the Nozzles and, importantly, the top rotary for the Nozzle Stop. That slider is very precise and works well in conjunction with the nozzle stop.
  14. Good to know. Thanks.
  15. So I was digging around my old sim stuff and came across my copy of the manual for Microprose Harrier Jump Jet - 200+ gleaming pages of Harrier goodness. It has some nice sections on Harrier history, training and tactics. I found an interesting extract on USMC Harrier operations: "The USMC uses three different types of bases, the largest of which is either an aircraft carrier or an airfield with full facilities. Next is what is known as a "facility": an airstrip 600-800ft long and closer to the battlefront from where AV-8Bs can make short take-offs and landings. The facility has rudimentary provision for maintenance, basic navigational aids, fuel and ordinance. It is the equivalent to the RAF's forward operating base which is known as a flying site. Closest to the battlefront is the forward site where the AV-8Bs operate off rough ground, a stripe of road or a 72ft x 72ft aluminium metal pad. An AV-8B flies fully armed and fuelled from a facility to the forward site where it waits on the ground in a "cab rank" arrangement until called in to attack by a forward air controller." [my emphasis] Sounds a tad war gamey (in the First Gulf War VMA-311's, -331's & 542's AV-8Bs operated exclusively from Al-Jubayl Air Base in Saudi Arabia) but it would be cool in DCS to do CAS missions where you had to use both a "facility" and a "forward site" in one mission.
  16. Does anyone know what magnetic deviation DCS uses on the Normandy map? Would be useful to know when setting gyro compasses on the WWII warbirds.
  17. That is Aces of the Pacific for sure! I would know: I spent a large chunk of my childhood playing that sim!!! :joystick: P.S. I preferred to fly the P-38J though. :music_whistling:
  18. Not to speak for JAR, but it is quite probable he is happy staying with the Stingers. That said, I am sure many of us Aussies would welcome a virtual RAAF squadron once the Hornet is released! And good luck with the new squadron, Tlhaskell.
  19. No, the boost is like Manifold pressure in the P-51 or ATA in the German birds and is controlled with the throttle.
  20. MiG-23 cometh?
  21. Among my fondest childhood memories is flying in Jug in European Air War. I flew 40 missions in the P-47 and loved every minute of it. I am intrigued to see how the old bird handles with a realistic flight model. I don't forsee any problems for me flying style wise because I am naturally a B n Z pilot (hence, on the German side I prefer the D9 to the K4).
  22. You need to hit the КСИ (KSI) correction button (C95) after you activate the compass. After you hit this button the compass will point to true north instead of magnetic north.
  23. Yes, definitely something to consider. DoW had a mulltiplayer map where you gave points to the opposing team if you respawn, while your campaign, I understand, has resource management consequences when respawning. The more WWII servers we have in the future using these sought of mechanisms, the better. I for one love the challenge of getting a damaged aircraft home and always choose to repair instead of respawn. This new damage model will really enhance that experience.
  24. We best begin learning this stuff: [ame] [/ame]
