Same here, here we go..

ED has always done it like that, get over it if you cant stand it. Sometimes I really wonder if the average age of the DCS community is 12 instead of something like 30

The only thing we know for certain is that ED takes a certain percentage out of sales by a 3rd Party. The name of the loyalty program, ED Miles, implies that ED takes the costs for it, which in my opinion also makes the most sense and is fair for the 3rd Parties. Imagine a 30$ module being sold and being payed completely with Miles, then the 3rd would have to cough up money from a previous sale to make sure ED gets their part. I dont think that makes sense and would quickly make 3rd Parties upset and not willing to develop anymore. Most say they are not in it for the money, which I believe because flight sim and DCS in particular is a niché market, but if there is not atleast some profit or a break even situation I do not think there would be that many 3rd Parties.

No, there is no preview version. It is a pre buy. You buy it before it releases. Release should be soon.

Progress pictures on the Eurofighter Typhoon
MrDieing replied to DashTrueGrit's topic in DCS: Eurofighter
I think in this case it is a matter of personal preference and you can not make everybody happy. Look at the F-14, that has weathering and people (especially VR users, those guys are loud) complained a lot that it was too much. Ideally there is an option so users can choose, but personally I do not really mind how much weathering there is. Neither of the options is unrealistic if you ask me. -
Not a bug. Reload the DSMS. What I usually do, on the right MFD, is hold the OSB that is under MSG for a few secs, this give you your MFD Setup Page. Of the top of my head, the LOAD option is on the right side of the screen. If you press the corresponding button then LOAD will replace MSG. If you then press LOAD you will get the same screen that you get on start up and you can reload the DSMS.

I dont think you can speak for the entire community or VR users for that matter. I dont use VR and have had the same FPS for more then a year now, give or take a few ups and downs between updates. Besides, a product that every now and then recieves graphical updates is no different then a new game being released with updated graphics. I do not expect to run DCS with the same machine and the same FPS in a few years time, nor do I expect to run a new triple A title at maximum graphics in one or two years, its just how quick advances go these days.

Totally agree. Dont get thrown off by one person saying they are turning their back on DCS because of all the delays, eternal beta's etc. You lose some, you gain some. The user base has grown incredibly over the past 2 years and I am sure it will continue to do so, because you are the best at what you do ED.

For any boom refueled aircraft; Fly the lights under the tanker, it makes it much more easy. For baskets; Dont focus on the basket, but rather focus on a point on the refueler aircraft and fly formation with it once you are hooked up.

It was intended with sarcasm, forgot that you can actually drive it with CA. But are you telling me I have to buy CA seperately to drive it? I already paid for it!! (Again, sarcasm intended, but a very realistic answer)
-
Yeah, and I want to be able to drive the boat because ED is making the "most detailed and realistic simulation of a Nimitz-class aircraft carrier ever created" and I am paying for it. It does not work like that. For the ship turning into the wind, if its out of Early Access and there is no such feature, then we can ask again. EA never offers the full package, that is the entire idea, features will be added as time progresses. I believe they mentioned somewhere something like this would come in, do not have the exact post on hand. The BRC thing. Marshal reports the BRC multiple times during approach. I dont think the real life Hornet pilots get a window in their face with the correct BRC corrected for MVAR. Either the BRC which the Marshal gives is already corrected for MVAR or the pilots do it themselves. If this really bothers you then I suppose somebody from ED can clear up which of the two is applied in real life. I for one could not care less, I just want to drive boats. Just another opinion in thousands.

The old carrier will be available along side the new Supercarrier carrier if that makes any sense. Not like the VEAO Hawk which was only available in 2.5.3 and not any newer version, which I believe is what you are asking.
-
Well, Im pretty sure the other 19.999 customers will and ED and TG will not lose sleep over you trying to strong arm them with something this silly

Help with install of first module, DCS World version
MrDieing replied to puyo3's topic in New User Briefing Room
AFAIK Liveries dont go in the Bazar folder, but rather DCS World OpenBeta\CoreMods\aircraft\FA-18C for example. This might be the reason for your issues. -
Yes, DCS is a really big install. Mine is about twice that size, it really depends on what addons and maps you have installed, especially maps can take up quite a big amount of space. One thing I find is that the Multiplayer Tracks take up quite some space after time, so I delete those every now and then to save a few gigs.

Help with install of first module, DCS World version
MrDieing replied to puyo3's topic in New User Briefing Room
I would advise against downloading 1.5. There is no real reason to do it with performance in mind, in fact its probably worse optimized for VR. You can always try to play VR in 2.5 and if it turns out bad go without VR untill you have a better PC. TrackIR will do in the time you save for a new PC. -

Couldnt delete the CockpitKa50.dll but moving it around, doing a cleanup and a repair did the trick. Thanks for the help :) -
Problems updating; cannot find file and access denied
MrDieing replied to MrDieing's topic in Installation Problems
I do not run any external antivirus, only Windows Defender. Executing as admin makes no difference, its not running in the background. -
Greetings all, I have run into trouble updating to the latest versions. It is giving me two errors; System cannot find the file 00123.197 ERROR: Can't run C:\Program Files\DCS World\bin/DCS.exe: (2) Het systeem kan het opgegeven bestand niet vinden. Brimstone is UK only. TG are modeling a German EF initially. Manage your expectations accordingly.

Welcome to DCS TrueGrit! To a bright future for you and DCS!

For those wondering, this is not the eagerly awaited module they mentioned earlier this year. BN confirmed that in the thread in the Chit Chat section.
-
Most likely ED themselves.

Still I do not expect it to be FC3 style. They already announced what MAC is going to be, why would they suddenly add something like this to that? Granted, they have done weird stuff like this before in the past, but I dont believe that they will add a module of this kinda magnitude to an arcade game. Have they not said (with the exception of MAC) they will not do FC3 style aircraft anymore?
