The target marker is an aim and distance indicator. It´s not designed to show the target espacial location, but to show the cannons impact point. The diamons reticle remain still while the target marker moves around the sight. You need to align both, and then 30mm pounding multiplied by two.:D

No, P stands for interceptor in russian (перехватчик= perejvatchik) It was S = Day fighter (however the S stands for Stabilator, as it was the first to hav an all moving one) and P = Interceptor

SPO-1 was a typo writing fast. You´re right foxbat, it seems that no P variant got an RWR, only S and late PMs, in wich was installed under the navigation light in a smaller antenna. But, if the system is simple to incorporate in real life I don´t see why a P can´t have it. You would be suprised as to how many modifications and incorporations aircraft receive in the field. I´m sorry, but MiG-19S and P both had an SPO-1 "Sirena 2" RWR. The equipment was removed in the MiG-19PM only, but was later installed again in the last series of soviet aircrafts. If I´m reading the manual right, Sirena 2 can give you some clues as to where to look for the attacker(only rear hemisfere) and how far he is.
