  1. I checked again and was able to order prescription lens inserts from VR Optician for my eye strength. I decided to order the inserts also because I already detected a small scratch caused by my glasses (not visible yet in VR view) and I am very happy with the aero and want to use it for several years without damaging it. The eye tracking is working better with the inserts, the focus area is moving more calmly. The image also is a little bit sharper than with my glasses, probably because the correct distance between the lenses. My eyebrow just touches the inserts just a little bit. I have already adjusted, but perhaps I will add a little bit bigger mask in the future.
  2. Is voice chat working for you. Even the window will not show up, when I press the controls to show it today? Yesterday it worked fine for me.
  3. I just wanted to post that it is working again. I changed some settings, but I do not know if it is related to any of the settings. I will update, if I encounter a setting it that is not working.
  4. I have this issue right now. Training missions not loading.
  5. TAA looks awful at 45FPS. Parts of the other aircrafts disappearing and reappearing all the time. Spotting is bad. DLAA for me all the way.
  6. I have only stutters with high terrain textures. Give low terrain textures and sharpening a try. Does not look too bad and no stutters in multiplayer on the ground for me. Do you have the stutters also when you do not use the F10 view at all?
  7. Yes DLSS does also not play nice with global illumination, SSAO or SSS. I am using DLAA again. On the 3080 I have to go with low terrain textures for multiplayer to stay in my VRAM limits in heavier scenarios. But I am fine with the low terrain textures for multiplayer. Looks still good with DLAA and 0.66 shrarpening. Better to stay at 45 FPS to prevent stuttering.
  8. I was wrong and underestimated DLSS. Just give it a try with 0.5 sharpening. (I can not stand DLSS without the sharpening.) It is insane what level of GPU graphics settings I am able to drive with the 5600&3080 combo: Ambient occlusion, all shadow settings, cockpit illumination, ... every GPU related setting to max To be fixed: DLSS lighting problems in some situations, have to try how big I can make the focus area with DLSS and what are the consequences on the lighting artefacts. (I only have experienced lighting problems on one map yet. Have to check later in what situations the artefacts arise.)
  9. This is a WMR issue. There is manual and an automatic mode for the Win Y thing. Perhaps switching the mode is an option for you. I hated this Win Y mouse problems while using WMR too.
  10. These two values set the size of the focus area. I prefer a slightly higher horizontal width than the default. That way i rarely notice the focus area border transistion.
  11. First time I can fly the P47 in the free flight mission on the channel map at the same settings I use for caucasus. These are my favourite OpenXR-Varjo-Foveated settings right now: peripheral_multiplier=0.9 focus_multiplier=1.2 horizontal_focus_scale=1.1 vertical_focus_scale=1 turbo_mode=1 no_eye_tracking=0 Combined with DLAA & 39 PPD Aero this is gorgeous. Pixels are a word of the past now. With 2.9 I am also able to drive high shadows in every situation, this also adds a lot to immersion. I tended to not use shadows for a more fluid experience prior to the patch.
  12. I prefer 39 PPD + DLAA @ 45 FPS fixed (good performance) on the Aero versus DLSS Quality (higher performance) I prefer to reduce visibility distance on heavier maps to sustain the 45 Frames versus using DLSS to achieve this goal.
  13. I like the spotting very much in AERO at 39 PPD. When there is the LOD change from dot to model, there are a few frames with a too big model. This seems to need some fine tuning, but it is not a issue as you can also spot before and after this transition. It does not improve your spotting ability to your advantage. (I was not able to spot reliable at extented dog fight distances before 2.9, now I am able to spot at reasonable distances, but in no way at exessive distances.)
  14. You cant hear it, you can see it
  15. Two possible solutions: a) DCS is not out of focus and b) you tried to switch with Windows + Y.
  16. I was blind, and now I can see. This patch is a dogfight enabler. Finally I am able to spot at a reasonable distance. Thanks ED for this great update. I can crank up my settings substantially at the same or better performance. (5600 + 3080 + Aero)
  17. Much better performance in singleplayer and multiplayer. DLAA looks beautiful.
  18. I ordered a second base station, one works flawless during normal flight, but during dogfights i loose tracking sometimes with one station only.
  19. 1.) The Varjo base software autostarts with windows. 2.) Start DCS Enjoy! There is a post about the details (which DCS executable to run) available on the forum, but I assume you want to know how many steps are necessary at every start and how comfortable these are. For performance reasons you install once a mod for foveated rendering. With this mod you will have better performance than with the G2. (I run an optional additional fix for chromatic abberation for now every headset startup, that will be integrated into the base software later.) The first time setup process was no hazzle and I like the varjo base software much better than than the WMR software. Overall it is a nicer UI experience with the Aero than the Reverb in my opinion. If you can spare the money, you will be probably very happy with the Aero.
  20. I have to add, this is true while I am using OpenXR Turbo Mode in VR. Without Turbo Mode I am CPU bound in VR.
  21. It is fluid in the front and on the side at 45 FPS and motion smoothing while you are keeping your head still or moving it calmly. But if you move your head too fast you have artifacts and slideshow until the algorithm catches up again.
  22. I was worried about the fan before I bought my headset. But now I really appreciate it. I use the Aero for several hours at a time. It feels quite comfortable and does not get hot. (I adjust the wearing straps with about 1 to 2 mm breathing space on a partial part of the lower side of the headset. That way it feels better for me and I can easily put on and take off the Aero without any adjustments.) On the one side I would prefer a smaller and lighter headset at a distant point in the future, but I have to use prescription googles. A smaller headset would have to include the option for strong prescription lenses. There are no off the shelf add on lenses available for my eyes. I would not start wearing contact lenses again, although I used them for decades successfully. I will just stay with big enough headsets in the future.
  23. I do not get micorostutters with the 5600. The 5600 is cooler, quieter and much cheaper than the 58003d. I am never CPU locked with my 3080 and the 5600, so no need to upgrade.
