reported 2.9 VOIP Microphone Test Not Working
SignorMagnifico replied to Rich8's topic in Voice Chat Bugs
Found a workaround which is allowing the audio test to work. Inspired by this: 1) Enabled Nvidia Broadcast for both speakers and microphone. 2) Set main audio out to the sound card (Sound BlasterX AE-5) which plays through my headset. 3) Set headphones to Nvidia Broadcast speakers. (The output also happens to be my headset plugged into my Sound Blaster card.) 4) Set microphone to Nvidia Broadcast. (The input source is my headset microphone plugged into my Sound Blaster card.) Based on the solution to this problem, it seems DCS voice chat has two issues: 1) It does not support voice chat audio being played/mixed through the same speakers as the main game audio. 2) The game has issues detecting microphone audio from an external sound card. However, it's able to detect microphone audio passed through software like Nvidia broadcast. I'll have to see how well it works in practice on servers, but I can at least hear myself in the menu now. Update 3/16: Voice Chat works now as expected after applying the workaround. -
My experience: The in-game interface is great. Having HOTAS controls work for the in-game VOIP radio is a cool idea. In-game server implementation makes it easy to enable. In practice, though, I have not yet been able to enjoy this feature because the game does not detect my microphone because I’m using a PCIe sound card, and it works fine with everything else. No fixes, yet, from the dev team. Seems like 87% of DCS players also experienced technical issues getting it to work according to the poll. Update 03/19: After finally figuring out a workaround, I was able to use in-game voice chat on multiplayer this weekend. It worked great. I especially like the line of sight modeling and integration with the cockpit as well as the overall sound. My only complaint is that the audio engine in DCS should do a better job of capturing microphone input and playing it on the same audio source as the game audio. I shouldn't have to use a workaround with Nvidia broadcast. I'd prefer to have everything mixed in my headset instead of needing to use two different audio sources. Also, it appears that DCS doesn't like detecting audio input exceeding 48kHz, and my sound card supports up to 96kHz.

No Audio + DCS crashing at Audio Test
SignorMagnifico replied to HiveLeader's topic in Voice Chat Bugs
Any word as to whether this is a confirmed bug or is being tracked? Looks like we have another thread opened for a similar issue. Not sure if we should merge these threads? Looks like most of the DCS community has not been able to get the integrated VOIP to work. -

Me, too. It also looks like we have the same sound card. The mic test has not worked for me using my SoundBlaster card since VOIP was introduced in 2.9.https://forum.dcs.world/topic/335815-no-audio-dcs-crashing-at-audio-test/?do=findComment&comment=5385542 -
Confirmed for me as well. Unable to change the code after rearming using the panel.

Same issue for me in the F-15E. Guessing the ATC radios are bugged on this map? -
No Audio + DCS crashing at Audio Test
SignorMagnifico replied to HiveLeader's topic in Voice Chat Bugs
Here you go. The audio test doesn't work, regardless of whether I select the microphone on my sound card or through Nvidia Broadcast. (They are the same hardware.) I've tried without Nvidia broadcast and disabling all other recording devices in Control Panel, too, and I get the same result. DxDiag.txt -

No Audio + DCS crashing at Audio Test
SignorMagnifico replied to HiveLeader's topic in Voice Chat Bugs
Any word on a fix for this, yet? I also have the same issue of DCS not picking up any microphone audio in the menu while using 7.1 surround. There is no audio detected when speakers are set to "auto" or 7.1 virtual surround. If I set my soundcard to "direct mode" (forced stereo) and set DCS to stereo, I can see movement in the microphone test, but the playback quality is quite poor. I know my microphone and sound card are working fine because Discord and SRS don't have this issue. -
No Audio + DCS crashing at Audio Test
SignorMagnifico replied to HiveLeader's topic in Voice Chat Bugs
In the last patch, DCS crashed anytime I tried to test my microphone audio. With the latest release, the crash issue seems to have been fixed. However, DCS is not detecting any audio from my microphone. My default audio setup is with a PCI sound card. Both my headset and headset mic are connected to this using two 3.5mm jacks. I also have a USB webcam plugged in, but that is normally disabled in the sound control panel. I tried testing the audio from my headset mic in DCS, and the bar does not move during the microphone test. I restarted DCS and tried the same thing with my USB webcam (after disabling my headset mic in control panel), and I experienced the same result. Both audio sources are working as I can hear them when enabling "listen to this device," and the audio is detected in both Discord as well as SRS. I also tried toggling between 7.1 audio and stereo audio in the DCS settings while using my headset, and that made no difference. I was able to get my microphone to detect in DCS only by plugging directly into the headset and microphone jacks on my motherboard. (Normally nothing is plugged into these, and they disabled in the BIOS. I turned them back on just to test if it would work.) DxDiag.txt dcs.log -
The game crash during the microphone test appears to have been solved with the latest update. Thanks for the progress, devs! Unfortunately, when I try to test my microphone, regardless of which option I select, either Default or my microphone, the dB bar at the bottom does not move during the microphone test. I have multiple audio hardware audio sources including my webcam, monitor connected via DisplayPort, and a headset microphone connected via a 3.5mm jack. I have disabled all microphones except my headset microphone in Windows settings, so Windows only sees my headset microphone. In the DCS menu, I can either choose "Default" or my headset microphone. My microphone is working properly, as I can hear myself when testing it in Windows, and it works with Discord and SRS. Anyone have any troubleshooting ideas?

Looks like the hotfix didn't fix voice chat. Game crashes in the main menu trying to test my microphone. I'm unable to hear others on comms.

I installed the hotfix today, and the game is still crashing in the main menu when I try a microphone test. dcs.log dcs.log-20231027-022754.zip

I'm also having this same issue. Others can hear me, but I can't hear them. My DCS also crashes when I try to do a mic test in the main menu.

Voice chat issues with transmit and receive audio
SignorMagnifico replied to RogueRunner's topic in Voice Chat
I'm having this issue in DCS 2.9. Other players on our server can hear me, but I can't hear them. They can hear each other. I can hear the mic click when they start transmitting, but I don't receive any voice audio. Anyone else having this issue? -
I'm also having the same issue. SoundBlasterX Ae-5. dcs.log-20231022-021626.zip dcs.log

Now that we have DLSS/DLAA, is DCS still running on DirectX11, or is it running on Vulkan?

Hi! Yes, I have the BIN-200 folder included in the VSN_F4C folder. I see there are function calls to that folder as well. I downloaded both sets of skins and the mods from here. https://filehorst.de/folder.php?key=duuqITUb null (#f 555 TFS-OY 468 by Urbi) livery = { {"VSN_F4E_1", DIFFUSE , "vsn_f4e_1", false}; {"VSN_F4E_PTB", DIFFUSE , "../BIN-200/vsn_f4e_ptb", false}; {"C-101-BIN-200", DIFFUSE , "../BIN-200/bin-200", false}; {"C-101-BIN-200", ROUGHNESS_METALLIC , "../BIN-200/BIN-200_RoughMet", false}; {"VSN_F4B_SUU23A", DIFFUSE , "VSN_F4B_SUU23A_GREEN", true}; } custom_args = { [801] = 0.0, --0 = Triebwerk B / 1.0 = Triebwerk E [802] = 1.0, -- formation front 0 = off / 1 = on [803] = 1.0, -- formation 0 = off / 1 = on [804] = 0.5, -- Version J } -
New VSN F-4B/C
SignorMagnifico replied to greyseal494's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Thank you. I narrowed down the issue to the additional VSN_F4C skins I downloaded from the website where I got the mod. When I uninstalled them, the fuel tank textures appeared correctly. With the additional skin packs installed, only the fuel tanks are affected. I installed just the VSN_F4B skins, and the tanks show up correctly. If I install the F4C skins together or by itself, the issue reappears. Anyone else have an issue just with the F4C skin pack? null -
New VSN F-4B/C
SignorMagnifico replied to greyseal494's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Hi! I installed this mod yesterday on the latest version of DCS. I also installed both skin packs for the F4B/C.The external fuel tank textures appear to be missing from both aircraft in all the skins. I get a green missing texture on the fuel tanks instead. Anyone know how to fix this? -

Mission 1: Invisible Carrier
SignorMagnifico replied to SignorMagnifico's topic in UH-1H Argo Campaign
Just following up on this. I replayed a saved track I had from August, and I was able to replicate the bug. I verified the mission is using the old Stennis model as shown in the video. No mods installed. There is an issue with the LOD of the carrier which causes it only to be visible from a certain distance. It might work if the mission was updated to use the new model. Track and YouTube video attached. https://www.dropbox.com/s/s9tzwkv0fg7nxt8/DCSTextureFlickering08-14-22.rar?dl=0
