HI VIKBELL Thanks MAXsenna If you want to use the saved games option, which i use: Extract all the files into your saved games/ DCS (You might have DCS Openbeta or similar)/Missions / Campaigns / en / put them here. You could create a directory called Serpents Head and put them in that if you want but not necessary. When starting the game go to Campaign as normal. Then when the list comes up do not highlight the F/A-18C button on the left as normal but use the top left button which is titled My Campaigns. Use that and the campaign will then be available. This method the campaign will not be overwritten with updates etc. Hope this helps Badger633

Mission 9 part 2
Badger633 replied to Sharkku's topic in F/A-18C Rise of the Persian Lion II Campaign
Hi Get your 120 off but make sure it’s close enough to guarantee a hit. Suggest go for the right hand Mig. As soon as it’s away you should go defensive to the right. Concentrate on the left mig make sure you have your head mounted display up and with this you can fire your Aim9X, at almost 90 degrees to your heading a great advantage. Use your SA page and RWR on the heads up display to maintain where he is. -
Mission 9 part 2
Badger633 replied to Sharkku's topic in F/A-18C Rise of the Persian Lion II Campaign
HI, just looked through your track. After bombing the air base and heading back you get radio warnings of the Migs on an intercept course ( MIg110). You, not Dodge, are then given instructions to engage with them. The intention is that you divert to engage them as instructed. This why things in the mission didn't unfold fully as planned and why Dodge did not attack them. It is really useful to see what you did. I will now introduce a fail to prevent pilots from continuing without taking out the pair of (migs110). Thanks again for the heads up, very useful . -
Hi Your correct, It is in fact degrees, minutes and decimal minutes. It was picked as this is the ready format when you enter the coordinates on the HSI when not using precise. You are also correct the presentation of the coordinates could be much better . I will update and issue , wont make next update though as not enough time. Thanks for the heads up.

Mission 10 - Fleeing from MiGs
Badger633 replied to oldracoon's topic in F/A-18C The Serpent's Head 2 Campaign
Hi, thanks for the heads up. There is an issue and this is partly due to EDs AI updates allowing them to think for themselves and break off more, even though they are scripted not to. I have already updated this mission as it was raised recently. Have firstly made the SAMs more effective and secondly put a safety mechanism in place in case one of the Migs go AWOL. This should get things back to normal and you will then get the all clear message. It will be out in next update. Together with improvements and printable Kneeboards to all campaigns. Hope you enjoy Ford’s time in the Persian Gulf where he is joined by his wingman. -
Hi What was the second target you destroyed? It should be unassembled SAM equipment right next to the load. Have you got a Tacview file of the flight, this would be really useful to check out the flight and find the reason why you have not got the next message. The mission should proceed once both the designated targets are dead. Lastly are you running any mods. These can impact mission scripting in strange ways. All DLC campaigns should be played without mods as that is how they are written and tested.

Hi, got it for meaning of name from Wikipedia lion Asad (Arabic: أسد), sometimes written as Assad, is an Arabic male given name literally meaning "lion". It is used in nicknames such as Asad Allāh, one of the by-names for Ali ibn Abi Talib. Asad. Pronunciation. From imuslim.name The name Asad (Arabic writing : اساد) is a Muslim boys Names. The meaning of name Asad is " Happy, fortunate, lucky,Virtuous, Lion " So it is the meaning of the name rather than a direct translation.

Hi , yes all the campaign creators have noticed that mods are having strange effects. All of the DLC campaigns are tested without mods, as there are too many to check. The Campaigns should be played without mods. Glad you got it sorted, enjoy the campaign.

Have now updated mission to give a little more tolerance as to target location, and the SAM site will no longer stop firing missiles when first Flip Lid is destroyed, so near impossible to strafe site if both are not hit first time and thus disjoint script. Will be out in next update.

If it doesn't work out remember to save track files and send to me. https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=dcs+how+to+save+a+track+file&&view=detail&mid=F5061C7D031DBC449A8BF5061C7D031DBC449A8B&&FORM=VRDGAR&ru=%2Fvideos%2Fsearch%3Fq%3Ddcs%20how%20to%20save%20a%20track%20file%26%26FORM%3DVDVVXX

Just so you know just flew mission and took out both targets, the coords are correct. Also check you have entered the height for each target correctly in feet. Other than that send me the track. Cheers
-
Hi, thanks, the second track misses the first target by a small amount as you can see. Attached. This is why it was not destroyed. To record a track, just run through the mission and when you close it you will have an opportunity to save track on the next screen at the bottom. Note where it is saved usually in your saved games folder for DCS under tracks and then send the trk file to me here. badger633campaigns@gmail.com In the meantime I will run it this end to check all is well. Nobody else has reported this to date. Lastly do you run any mods as this can impact missions in strange ways. Oh, and do not descend when dropping the GBUs you were almost hit by your own bombs.

Hi, just checked out your track. You successfully hit the clam shell, but It would appear your GBU aimed at the MK1 Radar missed. See the attached image from your Track. Think you may have made an error entering the Northing for the MK1 Radar target. You will note the coordinates are: PRECISE COORDS TARGET 1, NORTH 27 40 02 . 47, EAST 54 46 25 . 31, HT 2,012 FEET,TARGET 2, NORTH 27 40 02 . 55, EAST 54 46 28 . 14 HT 2,012 FEET. Note the Northing for both targets are very close, within a couple of feet. You will see your Tacview shows the GBU heading for the Clam shell spot on whilst your GBU on the Mk1 Radar is impacting much further south and misses the target altogether, when they should both be on the same north south position as the Northing coords are virtually the same for both. Retry but make sure the coord entry is exact. You should check your coordinate entries tally with those displayed on the cockpit display after completion of the coordinate entry exactly for both targets. If you still have a problem send me a track of your coordinate entry. Thanks for the heads up as it is useful as the SA10 should keep sending missiles and not allow you to come in and strafe the area as you did, which will disjoint the mission script. Will get that fixed. Hope this helps Badger633

ICLS in Mission 3
Badger633 replied to Pyrocumulous's topic in F/A-18C The Serpent's Head 2 Campaign
Hi Will double check the ICLS is set up correctly and get back to you. If so, which is more than likely, it will be a DCS bug. Will let you know. EDIT 10 Feb 23: Just flew mission. Sorry to say it worked fine this end. Are you running any mods or other programmes as these can interfere with correct operation of DCS especially in campaigns, Badger633 -

Mission 4 issue
Badger633 replied to Sharkku's topic in F/A-18C Rise of the Persian Lion II Campaign
If you get a problem with a clean run through without mods let me know. Always appreciate a heads up. A Tacview file is always helpful too. Hope you enjoy the campaign -
Hi There is a reason for that. You do not need the centre bag for this mission if flown correctly. On the other hand the AI aircraft can use a lot of fuel especially if the player is not very considerate of them. That is not slowing whilst they join etc. if this happens they will spend a lot of time in burner and can just run out of fuel. Often players wonder where their wing has gone and he has simply run out of fuel or other times refuses to follow scripted instructions due to fuel state. Giving them an extra bag helps prevent that.

Mission 4 issue
Badger633 replied to Sharkku's topic in F/A-18C Rise of the Persian Lion II Campaign
Hi How long ago was that, was it before the last update as I corrected some of their actions. Are you running any mods at all or are you using voice attack. It is a fact mods are impacting AI scripting. All DLC campaigns are written without any mods. There are also current bugs where the AI are ignoring instructions but not all the time and not for all players. If you can get a Tacview of the flight that is really useful. I will check this end but am finding I cannot recreate some of these AI issues. Thanks. -
RISE OF THE PERSIAN LION II RELEASED
Badger633 replied to Badger633's topic in F/A-18C Rise of the Persian Lion II Campaign
Hi 420 should break off a lot earlier than that. What should be happening is when you are heading to WP 6 there will be a few messages. Just before WP6 your Character, Ford, will confirm to 420 you will be calling Ras Al Khaimah and that you are changing frequency to Aux 2. You must then change frequency of your Aux to 2. If you do you will get a response from Ras Al Khaimah. If you do not change to this frequency 'Aux 2' you will not get a response but more importantly 420 will not get the break script. Do you think this is the case. If I could get a Tacview file of you I would be able to check this, but it should be obvious as you will miss 420 saying he is going trail for landing. If he broke away at 50 feet this is just because you were landing. When he breaks earlier as designed he will not take so long to land. -
If there is a particular instance in my various campaign missions can you point them out and I can look into it. Thing to bear in mind the AI does not always do what the campaign creator expects. Obviously they do when the mission is created and some times for many months or years but often an AI update will change this and no longer will they act as expected. That’s when it is useful to get the particular feed back on a mission so it can be resolved. That said a campaign creator does not want to create a situation where all the player has to do is fly in the background in the knowledge that all the bad guys will be taken out by your wing. In my missions I will normally leave at least one bad guy the player will have to take out. The clue is in the radio message at the commit which targets you are responsible for.

ROPL Mission 15
Badger633 replied to Pyrocumulous's topic in F/A-18C Rise of the Persian Lion Campaign
Hi It has been noticed the AI seem to be flying ever more erratic in recent updates. It is a DCS issue and I have reported it. If you get this also you should report it in the forum under bugs also, so they are aware it is impacting a lot of players. This especially the case if you are getting collisions. To be honest the reason a second 420 is used in mission 13 is a ‘work round’ to another bug where sometimes the AI will some how miss script and just go home. Have had to use this in quite a few missions which had become broken without this slight of hand. Not ideal but works. -
RISE OF THE PERSIAN LION II RELEASED
Badger633 replied to Badger633's topic in F/A-18C Rise of the Persian Lion II Campaign
Hi, just flew it no problems. He landed as planned. Have you got Tacview if so a file of your flight would help. Just to clarify what should happen, just after you turn onto the runway heading he will break and go off in the opposite direction. You should see on the SA page as you approach the runway he will eventually turn in the direction of the runway and make his approach and eventually land. He will not be landing directly after you but about 4 to 5 minutes after. Where is he going if he is not not landing? No voice attack or other programme.? Are you in open beta or stable? -
