Make sure your CPU has the power to stop you bottle necking as well, otherwise the 3x series of cards is gonna be wasted, same with your Ram, Ram is so cheap these days less than 32gb seems a waste, running 64gb here with a 5ghz 9700k CPU and a 2080ti OC Extreme and the game runs lovely in highest detail, still only just copes with the same detail in VR tho

New to SSA, had a right rave getting my new Jetseat working, for two reasons which I am posting here in case it helps another new user. First SSA seems to like being run in Administration mode, and secondly AVG intercepts the program and blocks it from modifying files, once I sorted both of those I got the seat working pretty quickly. Is there some place where people post some good well tested values for various aircraft maybe? -

Finally my Frankenwinder comes alive!
Phantom_Mark replied to erniedaoage's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
hahah I built mine some years back, been a great bit of kit Manged to keep the twist rudder as well, which was super important to me. Got a second here I might put a different grip on for V2, also looking at the resistor mods for the next one. -
Winwing software - major issues that can result in damage to hardware
Phantom_Mark replied to Andy t's topic in Winwing
This whole forced update crap is exactly why I am not replacing my RiftS with another Oculus next time as well.......such a load of BS, especially when the updates make things worse not better ! -
Winwing software - major issues that can result in damage to hardware
Phantom_Mark replied to Andy t's topic in Winwing
Similar issue to the OP today, forced Firmware update, nothing near computer, right ball ache sorting this out as the software crashed every time trying to update via powered hubs, ironically they updated via the powered hubs the first time I updated from new, so clearly a software issue not a hardware issue. After that rave and fear I had bricked my setup I too have blocked the software from the internet so it can no longer update. -
DCS Super Hercules mod by Anubis

I agree, there is a lot of potential players out there who cannot be bothered with the whole complex Milsim thing but would probably enjoy flying a plane like this within a Milsim as part of an online team etc........I myself am not included in that list but I am guessing those people are out there :) Love this mod, wonderful addition to the mods section. -
Everything Seems to be Out of Stock

I have a brand new Warthog Stick here, and a well used Warthog throttle I am going to be moving on, I bought the pair together but never used the flight stick as I prefer my FFB setup. Just replaced the throttle with a WinWing...... -
Missing mandatory CE marking for the European market

Like everything, the idea is often a good thing, but then gets carried away..........I personally hope we keep some of the more sensible stuff we had within the euro partnership, and then ditch the crazy stuff.? -
Can confirm the FPS loss using the standard export here as well.

Yep, I was just pushing the point for people not to be scared of these things from a safety point of view, completely get what you are saying, mine arrived to the UK without issue and very happy with all of the kit. -

Phantom_Mark replied to QuiGon's topic in Winwing
I absolutely respect and understand that, however when it comes to some products a level of common sense can be applied, when we are talking about power packs, batteries, or stuff which has a real safety issue there is absolutely a great reason to observe and conform to the CE markings etc, my only point was don't cut off your nose to spite your face when it comes to the potential purchase of a relatively benign object like this WinWing kit....... -
Very nice, do you fancy making another one maybe ? :)

Wouldn't want to upset some bureaucrat in Brussels now would we, cross our T's and dot our i's........indoctrinated and brainwashed by the EU. I have the throttle and panels here, they are beautifully made, they haven't blown up, and they haven't stolen my data, and they look supurb, if you won't buy it because it doesn't have a little sticker on to satisfy some bureaucratic BS from Brussels, that is entirely your choice, all I would say is these are USB devices drawing very little power, ie 5v, had they been full blown electronics drawing proper current etc I would expect them to be made to a higher standard as well. Having had to take my throttle apart from brand new (I broke the socket myself) I can attest to them being very nicely made inside....no cheap sub standard rubbish here. -
Anyone figure out how to get some use out of the "friction axis"
Phantom_Mark replied to Harlikwin's topic in Winwing
Now I have finally gotten a chance to use mine after repairing it I can see what you mean, seems odd indeed, the pot is clearly there and clearly connected. -
Force feedback vs spring loaded cams ?
Phantom_Mark replied to karel88l's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Its a CH Fighterstick Pro handle, which is 99% the same as the Warthog handle.....only one button missing the lower pinky lever, oh, and it doesn't have a 2 stage trigger sadly......a great compromise tho, managed to retain the twist rudder as well. -

Phantom_Mark replied to Harlikwin's topic in Winwing
I have just had to strip my throttle, never even used it yet.......I managed to break the USB B socket ffs.....anyway, you will be glad to know there is a proper potentiometer connected to the friction lever, and connected to wires, beyond that I cannot say anything more as I haven't even had a chance to use it yet. First pic you can see the pot on the left underside of the electronics board, and the connection lever to the friction. -

As the Harrier is single engine why not do what I did with my Warthog, and the same I do with the choppers, left stick for collective or the nozzles, right stick for engine power ? -

Force feedback vs spring loaded cams ?
Phantom_Mark replied to karel88l's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Fair points, a standard MSFFB2 is a great stick tho, I'd still prefer to use that over my Warthog tbh, with the Handle conversion I made on it as well I now have the best of both worlds thankfully. Sorry I find it hard to contain myself re: the Logitech after trying a 3d and a 940.....such rubbish bits of kit. -

Absolutely this......and the MB339 mod, you can feel the air pressure increase over the control surfaces as your speed increases for take off, beautifully implemented..... -

Phantom_Mark replied to karel88l's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
You'd change your mind had you tried with a decent stick instead of a POS........Logi 3d is absolute junk compared to the MSFFB2. I have an un-used Warthog setup here since new, and choose to fly with a highly modified MSFFB2 instead, and just bought another for spares in case it breaks (it is 20yrs old after all)...... The only people I see say negative things about FFB are the ones who don't obviously know how to set it up properly, or using inferior equipment, I absolutely do not mean this as a flame towards you btw Rick, I just have a lot of hate for that Logitech 3d stick, it is horrible. -
Order placed, finally, thanks Andre......can't wait to try it after all this time :)
