  1. I probably didn't set my Mode 4 correctly, there was indeed an element of sarcasm included. I am very interested in finding out exactly what would warrant an entirely new module though when the department of the navy literally states that it's the same aircraft with a radar fitted and integrated. I'd certainly hope they're competent enough to know what they're flying.
  2. They are in fact so fundamentally different that they use the exact same flight and tactical manuals, checklists and performance charts as the night attack. "The AV-8B radar aircraft is the same as the AV-8B night attack with the APG-65 radar incorporated. The addition of the APG-65 radar enhances mission effectiveness through improved navigation, air-to-surface, and air-to-air weapon systems capabilities." - A1-AV8BB-NFM-000-2011
  3. 1000 units restock means 1000 units available to all shipping locations, they don't take the units and split them up into hundreds of different facilities each handling only one country.
  4. Supposedly you need EDs shader for the rain on canopy effect which might be why they elected to use it anyway.
  5. Why would the IFF button be labeled "Reset" in the real aircraft and listed as break-lock in the flight manual?
  6. The TDC Slew Horizontal (mouse) and TDC Slew Vertical (mouse) are part of the default mouse keybinds located in Config\Input\Aircrafts\Default\mouse\default.lua It is loaded by virtually every module because the same file also controls the mouse camera axis. As far as I can tell it does nothing for most of them, each module with a slew input is going to have its own defined through the module specific joystick and keyboard default.lua, which is why you usually see duplicate binds. In the FA-18 the proper binds are called "Throttle Designator Controller - Vertical Axis" and "Throttle Designator Controller - Horizontal Axis" instead.
  7. We are getting close to half the first page being stickies though, it might be an idea to put them in a forum subsection dedicated to updates/news.
  8. Valid for the ARBS/LST. The aircraft has no idea which code any of the bombs are set to, you change it with a screwdriver on the ground and that's that, the only thing we get to do is pick wether the arming wires are held on release. I'm assuming the bombs are still magically changing code in the air then? Haven't flown the Harrier in a while. If they are I'd expect it to move to the kneeboard instead(with the correct range) as the module matures. E: I've just had a look at the GBU 12 in the F5 kneeboard and they do have the correct code limitations. The Mirage on the other hand lets you pick anything between 1111 and 1888. Potentially worth reporting.
  9. A1-AV8BB-TAC-000 claims that the ARBS LST and Laser maverick have the same code which only needs to be entered once through the DMT CODE option so one might assume that the LMAV has the same range (1111-1788 ) or greater. I haven't been able to find anything on the Litening. Interestingly it also says that the laser code will be zeroed with weight on wheels and that a valid code must be entered once in the air to use the LST function. Later in the manual it then specifically says that the code is set to the default(1111) with weight on wheels, which would be a valid code according to the first section. Somewhat contradictory.
  10. 1699 is not a valid code which might be why the display doesn't know what to do. Last two digits can only be 1-8.

For update threads you'll usually have to look at the most recent edit instead of the original posting.
  12. OTTO P1 is by far the best pushbutton I've ever used but that gets very expensive real fast. These are also fairly nice and clicky but with relatively low force and short travel. https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/c-k/8531TCQE2/CKN1659-ND/483941 https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/c-k/8532T1ZBE2/CKN1122-ND/241417
  13. Thank you lol, I was getting a headache trying to make sense of it all. Think my edit sniped you on the first one, what I said before was totally wrong yeah.
  14. Not the best illustration I admit but contact A on the top left is exactly the situation I was trying to show. :)
  15. Ok I've had coffee now and the previous stuff I said didnt make much sense so I made this instead. On the right is the typical US B-scope, would you say the left one is an accurate depiction of the french one? E: I've stared at this picture for 30 minutes now and I still can't make sense of the geometry. I need some coffee.
  16. The real slew control doesn't really move at all, it's entirely based on force not displacement. There is however some built in flex to provide the pilot with feedback, essentially like the F16 stick.
  17. The one way I know of to disable cockpit displays is to go to Scripts\Aircrafts\_Common\Cockpit\ViewportHandling.lua and comment out line 81. This will break integrity check though. It will also disable all displays, you can't choose which.
  18. Yeah.. I reported this exact thing about 9 months ago too.
  19. Agreed. As for the wings breaking, I haven't done any extensive testing but as GGTharos mentioned you usually have at least a 30% margin before catastrophic failures in regard to the listed structural limit. Which with your listed weight would probably(very rought estimate) be around at least 7.5G, it may be that it's slightly too restrictive right now, there's a G spike from rapidly moving the stick or at that mach number it is more sensitive to over G events. It shouldn't be easy to pull the wings off but there's also not a system in place that will outright prevent you from doing it.
  20. The document in question would probably be more like a document detailing specific maneuvering performance and guidance of the Harpoon, something that would no doubt be restricted. The archive is fully to blame, anyone can request to have documents declassified. It is then the responsibility of the archive to assess wether or not the information is suitable for release. I don't believe the person in question got into any trouble since you cannot be expected to know wether or not the information is sensitive. Once declassified by the archive it's just another public document. I suspect we're moving somewhat off topic though.
  21. It was a RBS15 document that was declassified by the military archive by accident. Not super sensitive stuff but not exactly stuff that should be public either seeing as it's still in service. The rule is arguably more of a liability thing.
  22. Here's a rules compliant one from the 1973 AV-8A manual. It's very similar to the AV-8B system. The Inertia Weight is the "bobweight".
  23. It's a weight placed somewhere in the control linkage that when subjected to acceleration(positive G) will try to push the stick back forward, which increases the stick force required to maintain that G. The whole control linkage system is pictured on page 2-44 in A1-AV8BB-NFM-000-2011. I can't link the document due to the new forum rules.
  24. "The aircraft becomes G limited" only means that maneuvering is limited by max allowable G instead of angle of attack, not that there is a built in G limiter. The main source of over G protection comes from the Q-feel system which increases stick forces with airspeed and a bobweight to increase stick forces with G.
