[Mission] - Fleet Defender - F14 randomized scenario
Wavehopper replied to Reflected's topic in User Created Missions General
Great mission Reflected, I'm really liking it (not knowing what's coming is tense). Any chance you could add some weather variety and possibly a wingman? -
Wait....seriously!!!???!!! The HUD doesn't show airspeed????
Wavehopper replied to gmelinite's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Personally I don’t see the need for it but if you do then surely that highlights something you need to work on. The day you say “I’m as a good pilot as I can ever be” is the day you should stop flying. Every flight you should be looking to improve and waiting for a gadget to solve a shortcoming is self defeating. Just my opinion of course. -
Dear Heatblur, holy cow, what an amazing job!
Wavehopper replied to TheHighwayman's topic in Heatblur Simulations
I’m not usually the gushy type but it really is excellent. I’ve waited a long long time for a module like this and it has exceeded all expectations by a long way. Aircraft is a joy to fly, the sounds are superb, and great missions. -
My current one: "You know, I've personally flown over 194 missions and I was shot down every one of them. Come to think of it, I've never landed a plane in my life." I can relate....

Just learn it bit by bit. Flown 8 hours so far just learning start up and basic airmanship. It’s a familiarity thing, and thankfully I played a LOT of MPS Fleet Defender as a teenager so the systems are familiar. Practice. Practice. Practice some more.

[NO BUG] Hydraulic Switches under cover not clickable
Wavehopper replied to MarkP's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yup that switch is a bugger to get to. I managed it finally by offsetting my view in track ir. Took 10 mins mind you. There was swearing too, and rude hand gestures at the offending switch. -
Same experience here. “Nails 7 o clock at 70nm”, yeah that’s great Jester but where’s the two f5’s off our nose at 3 miles?

UH-1H Huey Campaign - Medevac
Wavehopper replied to Wavehopper's topic in User Created Missions General
Cheers for the update and glad you’re enjoying it. I would imagine there will be a fair few things wrong with the campaign now as it was made a couple of years ago (how time flies... pardon the pun). Thanks for working out the fix Frags. It’s like trying to untangle Christmas lights. -
Aye, transferring our old points would go a looong way to proving you care about customer satisfaction. (still peeved about the Hawk)

Wavehopper replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Cheers HB. Now I don't have to dig through drivvel and brony posts daily. -
Meh, at least we’ll have another type of Mig to shoot at.

Cheers guys, can’t wait to get my hands on the cat.

UH-1H Huey Campaign - Medevac
Wavehopper replied to Wavehopper's topic in User Created Missions General
Sorry people I’ve been extremely busy recently at home and work. To be honest with you I don’t particularly want to revisit it due to the sheer amount of time it will require (to date I still haven’t actually played the whole campaign myself). Sorry folks, I know that’s not the answer you hoped for but if anyone here wants to take a stab at it you have my full blessing to do so. It was intended to be enjoyed by all, so if anyone can please feel free to. -
It’s getting desperate now. I’ve had to glue wings to my pet cat and fly him around the room. He’s not happy about it.

I just wanted to leave a quick thank you for these dynamic campaigns. They have really opened up DCS to a whole new level for me, and I’ve never played DCS this much before. Truly excellent work. I hope ED takes notice of just how game changing a dynamic campaign is.

That would be one of the easier ai to program as it would be static in the hanger waiting for replacement parts that never come.

UH-1H Huey Campaign - Medevac
Wavehopper replied to Wavehopper's topic in User Created Missions General
Yeah that's kind of what I mean. Considering how basic the missions are, stuff like that shouldn't happen. The animation is one thing, but the fact I set the enemy to not advance beyond the road is another. Mission writing at the moment seems like a complete waste of time. -
UH-1H Huey Campaign - Medevac
Wavehopper replied to Wavehopper's topic in User Created Missions General
Hmmm, these problems are the reason I just wanted to get this campaign done. Every new update breaks something, and a mission that works for me doesn't seem to work for others. Sorry guys and gals, I'm between a rock and a hard place here. Possibly the best solution is to play the missions individually so you can skip any that are broken. I just simply don't have the time to work on this at the moment,so apologies for the hassle. -
UH-1H Huey Campaign - Medevac
Wavehopper replied to Wavehopper's topic in User Created Missions General
Hi Icebear. Mission 10 is working as intended. The trick is to get to 30kts and reach translational lift. To do this with an overloaded Huey, in hot temperatures (higher density altitude) you have to turn into the wind and make very small inputs on the cyclic so as not to dump lift off the main rotor. You will have to back out carefully, and bump the huey off the skids into translational lift. It is not easy, but it can be done. Mission 11 is another matter. I haven't had this happen to me so I'll have a look at it over the next couple of days and see if I can replicate the problem. Thanks for letting me know. -

Thanks all, it's encouraging to get such good feedback. I'm sorry it's only 13 missions but I decided to opt for quality over quantity. I was struggling to come up with interesting ideas that didn't detract from the Medevac goal. Also a big thanks to Yurgon for his play testing. Your feedback helped a lot. -

I've never really had any problems here. I've always found it to be a lot more mature and a whole lot less toxic than a certain site I used to frequent.

Good evening all. The final version is now complete and available for download (the link may take a little while to start working). I hope you all enjoy it, and if you encounter any problems let me know. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2722167&postcount=5 I haven't played it through yet as I'm sick of the sight of it :music_whistling:, but I have played all the missions individually and they all work as of 09/01/2017. Thanks all, and happy medevaccing (is that a word?)
