Re-calibrate the throttle. Be sure to actually center the throttle when it asks you to otherwise it will only give you 50% throttle range. I had this issue too after trying X-Plane as that sim forces you to calibrate the devices.

Bit of an odd one this but it relates to the flight model of the F-14B. Just for a laugh I tried taking off from the Stennis backwards without catapult assistance. I took off from the carrier just fine and easily maintained ascent with air brakes on and downwind. No stores, 30-40% fuel load, air brakes on, down wind. That has got to raise a few questions.

Can you add functionality to the tankers so that we can request the tankers to speed up or slow down? It's not such an issue in the fast jets, but with aircraft like the A-10 it would be very useful to ask tankers to reduce speed to a set number.

I think the key word here is simulation. If it was just a game then no I probably wouldn’t bother, but when you pay a substantial amount for a module because it is a simulation then yes I’ll read it all and refer back to it when I have questions. It’s not just the manual either, I’ll read as much as I can get my hands on (books by pilots of specific aircraft, NATOPs manuals etc), absorb any information given on these forums, and watch documentaries. I think a lot of us here are in the minority mind you. Having done a fair amount of online carrier based stuff the number of people who do proper case recoveries are very much in the minority. I just can’t understand spending so much on all the gear and modules and not wanting to do it properly

As far as I've found the only protocol that works is freetrack 2.0 enhanced. I had this issue setting it up for a friend and the only thing that seemed to solve it was simply restarting the PC. To this point the issue has been solved. Providing that the Trackhat opentrack software is picking up the red centre cross and 3 green crosses then trackhat is working. You shouldn't have to assign any axis to Trackhat in-game as it seems to do it all automatically and possibly by doing this you've buggered something up. A possible repair of DCS may solve the issue but by the sounds of it Trackhat is working properly. It can be a bit more fussy than Trackir, but then it's half the price.

I’m pretty sure it’s not supposed to struggle to reach 350kts above 25k ft. It’d be a lousey interceptor if that was the real performance.

I don’t know if this helps but I certainly experienced far more crashes in MP with Tacview running. Tacview doesn’t seem to have any effect on my SP missions.

Multiplayer, Jester got incapacitated. Opened Jester menu to berate him for dying on me and I couldn't close the menu. Then DCS crashed after 10 minutes.

Yup, they are next to useless. I've noticed those behaviours from them as well.

People are making this more complicated than it needs to be. First off, if you're not making a skin from scratch edit the livery you want to use and just rename it. 1. Go to the liveries directory and copy the livery you want to use. Paste it on to your desktop. 2. Open the relevant file in Photoshop (you might need a DDS plugin which are easy to find and install). 3. Use the clone tool to cover up the old name/number. Match the font and write in your new name/number. You can use the RIO text to help match the colour and font. Save it when done. Repeat the process for the other side. 4. Rename the folder to something unique. There is also a text file in the folder that lists the file names. Go into the file with wordpad and rename the livery in the text file so it matches your renamed folder. 5. Copy it into the liveries folder. If you're just editing an existing livery it's actually very straightforward, and I wouldn't faff around with the templates at all. If you get really stuck ping me a PM with the details and I'll knock it up for you over the weekend. It doesn't take more than 10 minutes to do an edit like this but I would recommend you try and learn it yourself so you an do it with any aircraft. Plus you can constantly amend them when you know how.

One workaround is to fly directly under the tanker, Disarm the pilot ejection seat, and then hit the ejection lever and Goose Jester into the tanker. Sure it gets noisy without the canopy but it’s still preferable.

Got this bug yesterday in MP. Switched from Huey to the F14 and the right engine wouldn’t light on start up.

Same here. Not as frequent as the last patch, but still crashes. I believe Jester was about to berate me for flying too low at the time of the CTD.

Yup, constant CTD without logs. It's a bit sporadic.
