  1. If it's violently buffeting you're pulling too much AOA and turning into a giant airbrake. Light buffet is good, it lets you know you're pulling the right amount. Personally I love it, you don't need to look at the indicator to know what AOA you're at.
  2. Nevermind.
  3. You can't fool me Mike. It must be a different guy, Jester's called Jester. Chester was brand new. Nice try. (am I joking? No one can be sure)
  4. It appears I have a new RIO now as well.
  5. I kind of don't miss Jester. This new Chester guy seems like a cool guy,
  6. Thanks for the update. The only module I fly now so all improvements are most welcome.
  7. The responses on here to a legitimate question are also the reason why I often don't even bother commenting myself. If ED, rather than the staunch defenders answered the question there would be a lot less "drama".
  8. Not to be funny but how do we go about refunding our early access purchase of the Super Carrier? If full functionality isn't planned for the Tomcat both my wingman and myself would rather wait for full release. I've never refunded anything for DCS before so I haven't got a clue how to do it.
  9. Wonderful.... I'm a patient guy but this is stretching it somewhat. Pull your finger out ED.
  10. It's a year old bless it, I might get it a bag of catnip and a Mig 23 for a scratching post.
  11. From my own experience when I created the Huey Medevac campaign it gets very frustrating when you create something that then stops working when the core game is updated. And that was just a campaign, not a highly complicated module like the Tomcat. I don't hold HB accountable at all for these problems, or for missing deadlines as all they can do is react to changes made out of their control (and what would appear to be without prior warning either). It's just the nature of the beast I suppose. On the plus side we can roll back updates so it's not like we can't use what we've bought.
  12. Whatever works man. Glad to hear you’re getting it. To be honest I think it’s just practice practice and more practice.
  13. Turn off the HUD, you don't need it and it will actually make it harder. You're working off the gauges so focus on being 600ft, 15 AoA, and on speed on the downwind leg. Keep trimming the aircraft to maintain 600ft on speed. It's not easy when you first start learning it but with practice it comes.
  14. The persian gulf lighting looks atrocious, almost like the tiling system used in BMS. The new water effects are excellent however, a noticeable improvement. Obvious issues with the cockpit lighting of the F-14 that has been mentioned already. It runs fine which is a plus. Also, the moon and sun are still tiny. Is this something that will be looked at as well?
  15. I'm not quite sure how you're managing that either. I have never had the Tomcat go into a flat spin by accident. I've found you have to work quite hard to induce one. edit: Got me thinking, have you bound both engines to your throttle or just one?
  16. I've also had this happen over the last couple of days. It's only happened once in about 6 hours of play. I've ony been on multiplayer so no idea if SP if affected as well.
  17. Still no sign of Topper Harley....
  18. Well there goes my intended party trick of sucking them into the engines....
  19. Oh so it has been fixed then? I hope so, that bug was a pain.
  20. Thanks for the update gyro.
  21. I take it ED haven't got back to you about the issue yet guys?
  22. I really don’t get it. The Tomcat is s pure joy to fly compared to the sterile FBW’s we’ve had so far. I have flown nothing other than the Tomcat since it released as the Hornet and its ilk are so boring to fly. I actually laughed when I flew a quick case 1 in the Hornet recently. Stare at the HUD, perfect approach, almost fall asleep. That and the incessant chirping and moaning of the computer systems “biddly beep, bwarp, bwarp, pull up, pull up”. Shaddup! The Tomcat doesn’t moan at you, it politely asks you to stop what you’re doing by buffeting. I’ve spent 400+ hours trapping, patrolling and perfecting my airmanship and loved every second of it. But then I’m also a Huey fan so maybe that’s why.
  23. I also have an X-55 so I would ask if you have a powered USB hub for the throttle quadrant? I only ask as I had issues with mine when I first bought it and using a powered USB hub solved the issue of random control inputs. I'm not saying that's what's causing the problem but I thought it worth mentioning.
  24. It happens to me every time there's a hot start on the cat.
