and all that work appears to of got me banned from lfdm lmao for strafing an aircraft that was on the ground, that landed their damaged after running away from combat lmao
-
could be anything, my hostas, the trigger, my rudder pedals, my chair

something about throwing enough shit at the wall

${1} Did some flying on LFDM and took the jugg up, seems to be very good as a support aircraft in a dogfight due to the climb and dive capabilities

DCS: de Havilland DH.98 Mosquito FB Mk VI Discussion

I too love the 47, already managed to trash a few  got a few good kills in it, feels like the 50s are more powerful then the mustangs but maybe ive just got rose coloured glasses on :D gotta love that it take a punch tho, got shredded by AAA, limped it back with half the cowling and flaps missing while having to hold the starter on cause otherwise the engine would cut out, battery dead, gen on, mixture full rich, mags on. cant wait to shred some A8s with quad cannons :D -
Ah its easier once you understand it all, applies to most aircraft the same way that jets do. few minor differences between aircraft but otherwise still fun to learn all of em :D dealing with the Turbo on the p47 is something i need to get used to personally, cant wait for the mosquito though :D
-
I hope around more aircraft faster then people take a ride on the community bike  Love the warbirds, P-47 is nice, cant wait for the water injection and the later varient that can take rockets

tend to agree with that sentiment in all aircraft, flown a few tiger moths, an extra, cessna 152/aerobat, 172, pa-28, t-6 harvard, dh chipmunk and a super cub in real life and if im being honestly its a similar situation with all regardless of if i use VR in the sim or not. for me at least judging distances, height and airspeed is much easier in real life due to the feed back. one thing i will say though is simming is very good for teaching you to fly with one or more senses dampened.

yeah i was hastily typing and was thinking two seperate things at once, i meant prop pitch for different configs while flying, i.e cruise, landing, take off. while the governer will mantain the pitch once set it will only do so until the engine isnt at a high enough rpm to mantain it. hence it drops. in the example of the spitfire it is very noticable on landing how much of a difference landing with the correct prop setting can make, the landing roll is further then with full prop setting. took me a couple years to actually use the right setting cause i didnt bother to read the manual lol.

as others have said id start with the tf 51 first because its free and teaches you the most about warbirds for the least amount of cash paid up front, it'll teach you ground handling, engine management, (rpm, fuel, mixture mags, oil and coolant) as well as the techniques for take off and landing. You will likely need to get good at managing the above manually, which can be done with fuel dilute switch and with 2 multi position switches on the left hand side that control the coolant and oil doors on the scoop below. another peice of advice is to skim through the manual but have fun first and foremost, dont be afraid to crash, its not real life and you can respawn and restart which after a while doesnt take that long. if you do wish to get into fast however i would suggest getting someone to show you the ropes as well as to look at videos regarding tail wheel techniques for wich i would be happy to give some advice on. after all this then you can choose an aircraft and the fun of combat begins :). an aircrafts difficulty is largely subjective as time spent in the aircraft will skew a pilots view of it though personally i would think the I-16 and Spitfire are the hardest on the ground to handle due to not having a tailwheel lock and the spitfire having a different system for braking. the 109 has a lock and in combat is a real menace if flown well as the performance figures are out standing. as for the FW190s i treat them like mustangs, they handle well on the ground and in the air but mustangs will have an advantage over them in some places. one major difference between axis and allied aircraft is the engine management. for allied aircraft its a lot more hands on with regards to pitch control where as for axis aircraft it seems to be more automated. personally im waiting for the mosquito, p47 and corsair to release.

tetse mosquito with 57mm cannon would be nice to see from the later mk of mosquito, or the bomber varient that could carry the cookie bomb, that being said the mk 6 being added is sweet and im so excited to see how many of them crash in mp when it releases lmao. -

for some one who talks of balance you seem to forget that the K4 we have has no match already, we dont have 150 octane mustangs, we dont have late mark spitfires to counter it, we dont even have numbers balance. I gave up on asking for balance long ago as i believe its down to the server owner to balance it, which most likely turns out to only be a theater based balance and not a short time scale based one. I believe that ED them selves is now trying to focus on a specific time period with the aircraft we are seeing be worked on, p-47, mosquito and mag 3s corsair. that being said the 262 is going to just be an even worse case of K4 syndrome, at least with the new dm it shouldnt be as bad though. who knows they might even introduce later aircraft by the time it releases. I for one do not believe that individual aircraft should be handicapped by ED for balance because its a simulator that is meant to realistically model aircraft, i wouldnt want the k4 being gimped of horse power just as i wouldnt want the spitfire being out turned by a dora. -

using the name as an arguement is null considering we have the CE 2 and yak 52 -
Germany used a number of allied captured vehicals during the war, including P-47s, Mustangs, Spitfires, B17s and a few others, as for tanks and ground vehicals, KV series were used, t-34s, a few half tracks, churchil and matilda tanks iirc. as for load testing im sure there is likely a forumla that can be used after static load testing is done, seeing as the pressure at a given altitude can be recorded they could likely apply such a formula to figure out pressure exerted per surface area at a height and then compare to the static tests to failure. that being said im no aviation engineer and only hold a ppl and looked at how aircraft are built.

how about having it as an option for each player to select if the ground crews are simulated? can still have the access ports opened but just not show the animation for stuff being reloaded.

for this module ED are gonna suck money out of my wallet faster then the 47s twincharger sucks in air
-
its interesting most people dont know about it, in the UK at least fog gets trapped all the time and it can colder on the deck, another interesting inversion can be when scuba diving, its not uncommon that you can dive deeper and go through many different temperature zones both warmer and colder. it feels rather strange.

This is really neat to see! would like to see more civilian aircraft (or derived military aircraft) and assets added into dcs personally.

I play vr in normandy on mp and noticed no frame drop, same for default map in sp

legend has it that when a mosquito takes damage the trees nearby give apart of themselves to keep the wooden wonder flying -
If you need help id be glad to assist you in learning them

honestly? A time frame needs to be picked, so a G series 109, a medium bomber and some russian aircraft could go a long way, perhaps a yak 3 or 9 or a LA5
-
C-46 would be sweet, as would a Caribou
-
Yeah brakes can fade fast if left on especially on the take off roll, flew a super cub that had its brakes replaced twice in 2 months cause someone left the parking brakes on.

Hooray! is it in coop with ED?
