Wut? We get weekly updates, almost weekly videos, and quite regular posts from devs. They also have dedicated guys for making awesome traliers for new modules.... how are they not taking advantage of PR? We just recently had Wags do Q&A on a live stream.

Having been to many airshows, I know what you are talking about. The Mirage does this best in this regard, but the new hornet sounds are almost as "roaring" especially when you crank up the volume and do a fly-by. The Mirage has problems with being too loud for the sim, since you can hear the roar in the cockpit and when taxiing. Based on what I've heard/seen with the new AI hornet sounds, ED have found a good balance between the two.

I've got some questions regarding countermeasures (whatever you can comment on). I know preemptive flaring is done for infrared missiles. Would you pull back your throttle if there was an incoming missile? Or was keeping your speed of a higher priority? When it comes to chaff, i've seen HUD tapes of Australian hornets where when the other chaffed the lock on for the gun went haywire. Did you ever try fighting against actual chaffing targets (other than that Egyptian F-16)? If so, was it annoying? Would you just switch to the manual gunsight? Would chaffing be more effective at long range or closer? So glad to have an actual hornet pilot here!!

They released a good amount of updates during the 2nd quarter so that'll do for me. Maybe the silence is them trying to finish the cockpit and/or external art.

Guys lest we fall into the "people on the internet debating an actual fighter pilot" cliche, I think it is important to note that I don't think neofightr is claiming that BVR is a myth or that today's missiles are just as unreliable as the sparrows on the F-4. He is simply saying that missiles can fail and so good training with a gun is a must. Just look at what happend to the 9x fired over Syria recently, what would the pilot have done if his 120 had missed too?

To sum up, it has been worked on some, but they are trying to develop better technology to build with so that they can "do it right" Wags basically said they could have had something done a while ago but they would rather wait to do it better. Considering how buggy the current ATC is, I would presume this would mean they are looking for better ways to detect/coordinate the location of traffic. But that's just a guess. Didn't sound like we should be looking for it until after 2.5
