But what about Swiss Air Force? Marines? Australia? I'm sure I've seen pics of Swiss hornets doing patrols with removed pylons. I mean, if you're going to do an air patrol carrying only a few missiles why carry the extra pylons?

Um.... that might be a U.S. Navy thing, but I have seen many pictures of hornets with fuel bags and missiles with some other missing pylons.

I don't know about limited, some Sams can really down a bunch of incoming missiles. I learned this when experimenting with B-52 cruise missile attacks and you have to overload them. With the HARM we might have to use decoys to let them reach their target. (Assuming the mission designer turned on the sams ability to shoot down weapons.)

As far as what would be a realistic release, I have no idea... But as far as it being a huge project, yes but I think you need to also review the pics of the updated caucuses that came out last year. A lot of progress was made.

It should have better resolution than the F-14s TCS. The ATFLIR has an A/A mode and can be slaved to the radar as well, It might even be slewable to a datalink contact.

It's not as bad as it sounds IMO.

The ability to ID and track air targets without radar will be worth the -1 AMRAAM. I mean if you are really worried about it... you could still carry 9 more plus 2 AIM 9s ;)

Ciribob, have you seriously considered working with ED to make your program part of DCS? Or at least come with the download? ED have so many things on their plate right now that it would be years until we got a built-in version. And even once they got around to it, it would be a real shame for them to re-do the stuff that you have already made so much progress on...

Use a nice pair of aviators. I'm sorry, just wait for ED to fix the hud. Remember that some glare that impacts your vision is realistic.

Well they probably wouldn't be able to use the more advanced features like elevators or the carrier atc. Since those would be some of the selling points.

Wow a big disagreement over something being "too" good. Heatblur most be doing something right!

Kill could just mean to down the plane. Victory could mean that you succeed in your Air to air mission, not necessarily that you shot down all bandits. Or instance, if your goal was to gain air supremacy an air to air victory might mean only shooting down a few enemy planes and chasing off the rest. Hope that helps.
