AeroGator, you should edit the "How to request technical support" sticky in that forum section with instructions to open a ticket first. That will probably really help fix the mistake. I honestly didn't know a ticket system existed!

Agreed, long overdue. I won't buy it until they make a solid AFM.

Unveiling the VKB TECS Throttle Control System

I sure hope so! I hope they lift up rather than push down, but either way I'd be happy. Looks great. -
Unveiling the VKB TECS Throttle Control System
aaron886 replied to UIV's topic in VKB-SIM Flight Gear
Congratulations on the reveal! It looks impressive. Personally, I would like to see some switches (instead of all buttons,) but I understand this is a Russian-styled product. I’d also like to know about the detent style. I think most of us would like to see - finger-lifts on the front of the throttle for the afterburner detents - a 4-way hat with push instead of a 2-way switch for the radios, and an extra thumb 4-way hat instead of a button (we know you can do that, you did it for the MCG! The people demand more functions!) I would prefer a lever-type throttle to a track like this, but it’s going to come down to the additional features when I have to decide between VPC and VKB. I’ve used a track style throttle in the past with the CH Pro Throttle, and it served me well. (Edit: detail) -

If you’re still without a tracking number: Go to your account on VKBcontrollers.com. Find your order. Read the DHL tracking number! -

Introducing the VKB-Sim ‘Modern Combat Grip’ (MCG)

This information needs to be part of clear documentation in a well-organized and easy to find documentation/instruction section on your website. Nobody should have to hunt through pages of unorganized forum stickies, either: I should be able to click "Documentation" in the menu, then select my device, and select a category of subject matter. Too many posts buried in a 100 page thread! I'm generally very forgiving when it comes to documentation, but this needs to be better for a $160 grip or a $300 base! -
Introducing the VKB-Sim ‘Modern Combat Grip’ (MCG)

Don't know how, Rainer, but that link turns into a URI encoding mess in my browser. Is there a CAD drawing of the MCG available for pit builders? Pretty sure it's going to require a modification to my mount to fit it under my desk... it's a monster! -
Matt, have you heard about the somewhat common IMU alignment problem that causes Rift users to see a perpetually tilted horizon? You should consider adding the ability to manually bias tracking tilt if the SDK allows it. In most VR experiences it matters only a little, but in flight sims where one naturally visually levels the horizon, it can be a real pain. Thanks for the preview.

Agreed! In this day and age, I think videos are great too. Your YouTube channel could be much more helpful. :) -

The assignment of buttons and axes in DCS is the same for any hardware. -

I meant shipping, of course, not delivery. -

Good catch, but at least within the week. (Hopefully.) -
That looks awesome, glad to see the 2-cam design.

Great photos/renders. I'd love to have that 360-degree view of the PRO and in high resolution! -

I also believe in your product, and I believe in your good intentions. I can see how much you guys care about your work! Of course though, as a consumer, waiting is always frustrating. And correct or not, US customers have long had the impression this product would be available much earlier. It feels like (in a similar way to the Gunfighter) it has been delayed and delayed. The experience of ordering from VKB is the experience of delays. But, like the others here, I am patient enough to wait to January 2nd, because I believe you're making a superior product. It is a little frustrating, as a GF pre-order customer, to see updates to the GF, and the MCG/Mk.II shipping before my MCG. I think you guys would do well to reward early adoption, if in no way other than to at least ship by order number. I imagine you have compelling sales reasons to ship new GF/MCG combos before shipping stand-alone MCGs to return customers. Anyway, looking forward to 2 Jan. :) -
Enough with the brony spam. What is that, a comeback? Argument against the existence of people using DCS for aerobatics? Whining? Lock On didn't have the airplanes we wanted, so we made models. DCS didn't have the modules we wanted, so we made them. My original point is that the aerobatics community is extremely resilient and larger than most realize. This reinforces it: when ED hasn't supported the aerobatics community directly, we did the work ourselves. It's high time the recognition has started to shift in our favor. I wouldn't have personally picked a piston driven propeller airplane, but I appreciate that it shows the recognition of the diversity in the community.

People have been using ED's sims strictly for aerobatics for over a decade before you joined this forum.

This, of course, describes the BRD-D base, not this upcoming Virpil base. We do not yet know what hardware is inside. I think Sokol is simply describing the style of Baur, particularly the dual cam and gimbal arrangement. He can correct me if I'm wrong.

This is a great idea... a high-quality, low budget option to help Warthog users replace their bad gimbal. Can we see some internal pictures?

SUDDEN SEAT /HEAD HEIGHT MOVEMENTS WITH RIFT
aaron886 replied to Badger633's topic in Virtual Reality
I have the same thing! Pre-ordered the rift and later bought a second sensor in an attempt to fix it. I also have a horizon that is always tilted about 2 degrees left. I've contacted support about the latter issue without resolution so far. Hopefully I can get a new headset, sounds like that fixed yogipol's problems! -
I don't fly Russian jets either but the MCG has so much functionality I can't pass it up. I have 2 50 springs on both axes (strongest) and it's still a little loose with the Warthog grip IMO. Usable but just makes everything feel mushy. The lighter KG-12 grip however, feels amazing. Just perfect. Assuming the MCG will be a similar (reasonable) weight. The Warthog may as well be made out of lead.
-
This thing really comes into its own with the extension. The fine control in formation flying is really impressive, and the whole thing is just a tight, sturdy unit. The Warthog grip is just a little too top-heavy for this application, but the MCG will be perfect. I might have to take some height off my stand, though.

Thank you for the clarity. It's friendly grumbling, just impatient grumbling... we're all just excited to have this thing, I think, and many of us thought we'd have it months ago. Such is life!
