  1. Come on, man. I'm a VKB supporter, but advertising in another company's thread? Poor taste.
  2. To that, I say... :megalol:
  3. Terrrrrrible videos, you mean?
  4. Not sure about that description, but suffice to stay "your stick is a toy replica." There are even greater concerns than length of throw, like force applied and damping. (Natural and artificial, depending on the aircraft.) None of these are dependent on the speed, g load, or control rate as they are in real airplanes.
  5. Repost your question here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=167039 Meisterolsen from Monstertech will be more likely to see it.
  6. For me, a legitimately serious problem fixed in testing as it should be. Potato, potato. :)
  7. Thunderstorms are no-go for any airplane. Hail, lightning, and turbulence don't care if you're a fighter or not. The F-35's (temporary) restriction was to stay a full 25 miles from thunderstorms due to fear of combustion of fuel vapors in the tanks. They redesigned the tank inerting system to solve that problem.
  8. Why do people keep using "Rmin" in here? In the world of western fighter aircraft, that's a missile's minimum launch range.
  9. This thread has really degenerated. Can we go back to F-35 news? Geopolitically important: F-35B Lightning II arrive in Okinawa
  10. Thanks for the update, meisterolsen!
  11. Sydy, my mounts purchased about a year ago came with the plastic guard. It's very thin, but for me it has done the job. I don't want to suggest that Pikey is careless, because it may simply have to do with the desk, but I have no noticeable wear on my desk due to the mounts. Seriously, no complaints other than that there are situations where they need to be just a little longer. If I knew then what I know now, I would have asked Monstertech to add about 3-4 inches to the height of the mount to better support center stick use.
  12. Read below! VKB and VPC are hot. Force feedback is not.
  13. The military flies IFR to the maximum extent practicable. This Charted Visual Flight Procedure requires VFR category weather, but it's still an "IFR procedure."
  14. I'm sorry man, but you're trying too hard to justify the problem in the sim. That's not productive. A real HUD can produce an impressive range of brightness levels. My experience is that only looking directly toward the sun causes the kind of unreadability we get in DCS right now... against a distant horizon. Distant atmospheric haze should not be as bright as the sun. It's wrong and needs to be fixed, let's not confuse the issue by pretending it's realistic.
  15. Come on, you can't read the HUD against the horizon, can you? The horizon is just a hazy white.
  16. I have the deferred shading on, but the gamma slider does nothing for HUD readability. I can make the world outside look marginally less like a nuclear blast, but the result is a cockpit too dark to read gauges. Seems to be unhelpful... I think the lightning of the Nevada map is the problem.
  17. Great interview, thanks! Perhaps just a little biased where the Rhino is concerned but hey... it's a badass jet.
  18. 20 seconds. Less than a Hornet. Jet stays clean with internal ordnance, likely already toting around a full fuel load. (Same configuration for the Raptor demo.)
  19. Second half of the video is about 4 or 5 tries at the same repositioning maneuver with small adjustments. First half is interesting though. Looks like a Hornet that accelerates better. PsEl_IL_5-M
  20. Can't believe people still try asking for mods in this thread. :D
  21. I think this is my favorite video ever made in ED's sims. Just fantastic editing and the ultimate F-15 music.
  22. Sorry, but this is not a fair assessment of the product. It works quite well, and VKB does not hide the fact that you're buying a PCB and some wires which will need to be installed. I wouldn't be arguing if you had just criticized VKB's disorganized documentation, though. (There is in fact a pretty good pictorial explanation of the adapter installation. Why you proceeded without first finding it I don't understand.) Why on earth would you ever want the Warthog stick base if you have the Gunfighter base? The only things worth using TARGET for are on the throttle anyway.
  23. This brings up a related question. Has Heatblur stated that they will model both the 5-light FLOLS and the 12-light IFLOLS? The difference in precision while on the ball is significant.
  24. This thread might end up as a debate about what a Lomcevak really is. Because the airplane has no precession from a propeller, I think a purist would simply call it that maneuver a "tumble." (Although that does look like a great cap Lomcevak!) Makes you wonder if other straight-wing trainer jets could do that. Nobody as crazy as the Italians has ever tried!
