Which do you prefer, modern or historical airframes?
blackbelter replied to blackbelter's topic in Chit-Chat
A simple statement like that is not enough. You need to be a little more technical to convince me :D Maybe something like http://www.qualtrics.com/blog/determining-sample-size/ -
Which do you prefer, modern or historical airframes?
blackbelter replied to blackbelter's topic in Chit-Chat
While I agree with you that the number of people participating in the poll is probably only a small fraction of the total number of customers, I do think that we have a large enough sampling space in order to draw a statistically valid conclusion. Unless someone can provide evidence of correlation between 'being active in the poll' and 'preference of A over B' (A and B being one of the options in the poll), I will continue to assume that the result of the current poll is indeed indicative of the general opinion of ED customers... -

I never wanted ED to scrap their current projects altogether. As you and other mods have repeatedly stated, it is not right for us customers to dictate what ED should do. But do you think it is wise to totally ignore the general opinion of the customers (as reflected in polls such as this one)? Good luck with that business model. Nothing will be changed even IF the public opinion disagrees with what is being developed? Again, good luck with that business model... By the way, I don't recall the same poll being held in other threads. I searched. All I found in other polls is which SPECIFIC aircraft the simmers want. That is however a totally different question. :D If you were right, I never knew I was this good at psychology. Anyway, it is not my intention to 'seduce' people to choose whichever option. I wanted to see the fraction of simmers, not to 'seduce' ED to believe what I believed to bee true. Except the undesired mistake in my typing, I don't see how my way of wording is biased... If you have read the statements in my first post, you'll see that 'indifferent' fits to be an answer, while 'both' simply doesn't make sense... -
Which do you prefer, modern or historical airframes?
blackbelter replied to blackbelter's topic in Chit-Chat
You are right. But I can't edit the options... I would like to change the options to Modern: Aircrafts after and including F-14 Historical: Aircrafts before F-14 Indifferent. Can the mods help me here? Thanks. -
Which do you prefer, modern or historical airframes?
blackbelter replied to blackbelter's topic in Chit-Chat
I can't seem to edit the poll options. By historical I meant airframes designed before 70's. -
Given the scarcity of resources, which do you prefer the devs to prioritize over the other? I personally prefer the modern ones, but would like to see how the simmers are fractioned...
-
I have to agree at least partially with OP. I personally would much prefer all devs dedicating their effort to modern instead of ancient birds... But I also have noticed that there are in fact quite a few modern airframes being developed under the hood. ED won't mention them much because they still need some time (years) before their prime. I also understand that sometimes things develop in a manner that is out of one's control (such as the dropping out of RRG).

Great update. I like this kind of detailed and frank update... I wish all other developers could do this on a regular basis.
-
Please make the video in EDGE.
-
I sure hope that is the case. More waiting is worth it if the reward is a better PFM.

Sent.

Will send the email when I get to the computer. Thanks for the gesture and good luck everyone!
-
But I guess I can understand the logic behind. New modules generate more fund-influx, while Su-27 PFM... not so much...
-
Yeah. That's one hell of a sucky piece of information.
-
Wtf... Thanks for the information though.

Yeah, me too. But I prefer the word 'Master of Everything' to be displayed under my name.

It's Friday again (soon). Anything new to sweeten the weekend?
blackbelter replied to blackbelter's topic in Chit-Chat
As usual. Trolls can easily have things their way... Is there nothing we could do about it.. -

The wait has become a little bit too tedious...:helpsmilie: -
Public inquiry. What is your PC video card?
blackbelter replied to Chizh's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
The only option for them would be to stick to 1.2.8 or older versions... -
The only ssd drive I have used is a Corsair force series GT 240GB. It has served me for 26 months, and given me no trouble. It is still kicking in my gaming machine.

I think they are just trying to see how many of us have DX11 supported (which does not necessarily imply high end) graphics cards. I guess they are going to ditch DX9 support (a.k.a. The current graphics engine) ccompletely.

I see you have difficulty comprehending my post, so I will make things clearer for you. The screenshot is misleading, not subjective as you understood it. It is misleading because: Firstly, it is a single-eye 2D shot trying to represent a 3D view, which is unavoidably misleading. If I cover one of your eyes, and tell you the world is flat, since you can't perceive any depth with a single eye, will you buy it? Granted you are trying to show the lack of pixels not depth, but it amounts to the same thing. The brain will superimpose the pixels of two images to form the whole picture (just like how depth is perceived), which is different from that percieved by a single eye. This also leads to the next point. Secondly, the screenshot is from a dev kit, not a consumer product. You are attacking it as if it in its final state (esp. Resolutionwise). I think the word 'misleading' is made specifically for arguments such as yours. Most of your comments are subjective. Hope things are clearer now. Your attacking (yes, you are attacking) won't generate more sales to your product. It only make you look desperate. And that does you no good. Might as well save yourself some time, which cam be better spent in perfecting your own product. I find these discussion pointless, thus I will refrain from posting on this topic again. But you can still carry on, I am sure.

Nope, that is not how OR is and how it performs. That is how YOU perceived it. There is no such thing as the real thing when subjectivity plays the major part in the judgement. Whether it is a myth or delusion (or neither) is not for you to say the final word. Everybody has their own opinion. OR is not a solution to world hunger, nobody is saying that except you. Such nonsensical amateurish humour does not help you here. And by the way, the 2D picture you posted about a 3D view is misleading. That much I am sure.

Why not leave it to us and let us judge for ourselves when we get the first hand experience on VR? The fact that you are attacking an alternative to your own product does invite questions on your motives... Just something for you to consider. Out.

Ram effect? and GTX680-780?

Did you uncheck force feedback and head movement in one of the options page? Your pc specs is simlar to mine, and I found that unchecking the above mentioned options reduced the stuttering substatially.
