  1. Imagine DCS without all the realism and complexity (if it is to be run on a console with reasonable smoothness). All that is left is mediocre graphics (no modding allowed!) and maybe some 'instant gratification'. HAWK or Ace Combat is the clear choice in comparison.
  2. Yes, sir, I am an optimist. Sometimes it hurts to be one...
  3. Something like an update on the progress on Su-27 AFM? Hopefully? Pleeeease? :P
  4. I use 42" 3D 1080P TV. Fortunately I have not used higher resolution monitor before, so the image quality appears just fine to me.
  5. I've had A-10C for a while now... Never played it... Not that there is anything wrong with A-10C. It's just that I am more into fast movers...
  6. Although it would be nice for us players to have it in June, it makes more sense for the devs to release it in 129 ob, which I assume won't come in June but which shouldn't be that far away anyway. That being said, I am just as impatient as the rest of you... Mig-21 will be the first DCS-level module I purchase and PLAY.
  7. Thanks for making this thread, for I have been thinking of making a similar thread for a long time!
  8. After some tweaking, 128 turned out to be the most smooth version ever... for me, at least. For example, at the airfield on the ground, I used to see 35-45 fps. Now it runs at almost constant 60 fps (with vsync turned on). The only issue seems to be that whenever there is an explosion near me, the motion freezes for a fraction of a second. This problem has been there, but it seems more serious in 128. I'll make a few screenshots of my settings, in case that could help some people here.
  9. You mean like Emma Watson? :D
  10. I meant instead of releasing the two together, EDGE could be released before NTTR. Apparently yes. I missed that bit of information before. Thanks anyway.
  11. Can we expect EDGE before NTTR?
  12. I've seen this video before... I thought the bright spots on the camera were the ones that are lit up whenever tracking clips and a supported game running are detected.
  13. TIR camera is not designed to be the IR source, although it does become quite hot after a while:D The reflective clip reflects IR radiation from external sources, such as your monitor. That's my understanding at least. Edit: So I was wrong... See below...
  14. FC3 for the win!
  15. In my case, disabling ffb (which seems to be activated by default) and head movement under G makes the game much smoother. But I still notice more stuttering than 127, eg, when doing in-air refueling.
  16. Can a slightly OC-ed GTX680 handle DCS on high settings when EDGE is released? I've been desperately wondering about this question...
  17. I was guessing that Flanker PFM was ready to be released. It wasn't included in 128 simply because ED did not want to squeeze too many things into one update, lest the response and bug reporting is too overwhelming... But it's my guess only, and nothing more.
  18. Su-27 AFM and EDGE, and the world will be perfect (for at least a week I tell ya).
  19. Big Brother probably has his eyes on you after you created this thread, you know... :(
  20. With the support of OR being official, I hope the 3D rendering of DCS will be perfected with it? As I can recall, one of the most annoying things using nvidia 3d vision in DCS is that the sun is rendered on the screen, with no depth. This is second only to the incorrectly rendering of HUD, which makes aiming with the gun sight unusable. I sure hope these get fixed in OR...
  21. Try using the updater "Using DCS_Updater to Install a Specific Module: In the Command Prompt Windows: Type: DCS_Updater.exe install <module> (ie DCS_Updater.exe install A-10C )" For more details, see http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=114030
  22. Now the change log of RC3 is released. I didn't get the chance to report the bug in the airspeed indicator in Su-33. The airspeed indicated by the gauge and that displayed on the HUD differ by about 100 km/h. Also the fuel quantity gauge is buggy. After a full in-air-refueling, the displayed fuel quantity is 50%. Maybe there is no bug here; maybe I just don't know how to correctly read this one... The user manual pretends that the fuel gauge in Su-33 is still the same as that in Su-27, so nothing new there.
  23. On second thought, I am imagining things... Is it possible to keep the current SSM, but activate those cockpit switches available in the SSM? Though I have no idea how much effort this conversion will require. The usefulness of this is mainly for FC3 players when Oculus Rift comes out. We will have no problem when this is coupled with the laser mouse bound to a finger, as someone posted somewhere in the forum.
  24. Well, OP's request seconded:D I'd like also to issue a request for the same feature for Su-27.:megalol: Pls pls pls...:D:D
