Is there a choice regarding bombing mode selection?
Reflected replied to Klunker's topic in F-4E Red Flag 81-2 Campaign
@Klunkerhave you tried enabling ‘loud afternurner’ in your sound settings? It helps a lot. -
Is it in VR? When I use my Quest 2 it's blurry for me too but everything is with the Quest 2.

Unfortunately the debrief is just a picture that pops up after you shut down. No way to access it later. What helps with fuel management is to be conscious of your speed (TAS, the hidden digital gauge). Don't fly faster than briefed, and you rarely ever need to plug in the burners after takeoff. You can 'play pretend' and land at a divert, but just returning to Nellis consists of a hundred or so triggers and voice overs, I can't set up further hundreds just in case someone diverts, so the mission will probably fail - but then you can 'skip' it in the campaign menu. -

Hey, It's certainly possible to select whatever you like once the fence in checks are complete. For this first mission I chose direct because a popup may not get you high enough to properly execute a DT, and there will be a dedicated DT mission later. I made the hard deck pretty soft, so you won't 'die' immediately once you get to 299 AGL If you're short on fuel, there will be a decision point after you rejoin at Mt Irish, whether you want to RTB or refuel. I suggest using that decision point, because the triggers in such a complex mission are not infinitely flexible to allow you to detach and RTB through Dreamland The marshal station will be fixed in the briefing in the next update -
In your gfx settings there's an option to set the resolution of in game displays. IIRC it can be 512x512 or 1024x1024

Replayed for a better score and ran into a problem.
Reflected replied to kb1701's topic in F-4E Red Flag 81-2 Campaign
Interesting, I have no idea what happened. It's certainly not scripted in the mission. I can't even think of anything that may cause it. Are you sure you have random system failures disabled in your settings? -
Fam Flight, Flight lead does not taxi to runway

On your left is Number 4, he'll only taxi after you. -
Fam Flight, Flight lead does not taxi to runway
Reflected replied to Dentedend10's topic in Bugs and Problems
OK, is it Mission 1 or the Fam Flight? Are you sure it's Rocket 1 that got taxi clearance? In the Fam flight he's not parked next to you. Try running a slow repair before trying again. If they get clearance, they should taxi. But it could potentially be Vaicom too... -
Any walkthrough videos available for the campaign?

I'm also looking forward to seeing the first playthroughs -
Magnetic variation changes every year, it will only match in 1981

Make sure Jester always has control, and only take it for a short time when you want to transmit on a different freq

If it happens on the first connect, better bring this up with Heatblur, I'm sure they're not monitoring this section.
-
It's because you didn't raise the flaps fully after takeoff. It has 3 positions, make sure the switch is in the full UP position.
-
OK, I asked Heatblur and it's actually a feature: When you disconnect, the system will close (I don't mean the door) and won't let any more fuel flow even if you reconnect. Then the tanker will misinterpret it as if the tanks were full. What you need to do is to reset the refueling system every time you disconnect by closing and reopening the AR door.
-
I’ve seen this a few times but rarely. I just called again to reconnect. It’s all core features during refueling.

No, 35 mils = radar boresight. In a2a mode it’s irrelevant, but if you are in a2g or manual mode and you don’t have time to switch it’s useful to set it there.

Mission 3: jc does not activate his radio…

I just tested in the internal version, it all works. INS, radios, everything will be fixed in the next update. -

Jester is currently bugged in the Phantom, HB is aware. -
Dumb Question - Compass does not move in direction of flight
Reflected replied to goot66's topic in Bugs and Problems
Have you switched it to “primary” from “standby” when the ins was aligned? did you align it yourself? Jester doesn’t do it due to a Jester bug that came with this patch. HB is aware. -
OK, but how on earth do you think I can influence engine sounds from within the mission editor? The campaign came with an update, which may very well have caused several bugs (see Jester not doing the INS alignment). That's my point, no offense, I just have no idea why you reported it to me. Care to share what the issue was? You said you figured it out.

It doesn't say you need to test it, it says "up" (see checklist), which means you need to turn the volume up. Otherwise you won't hear the tone.

I'm opening this thread to save me a lot of typing 1) Read the darn briefings. I spent ages building them, they will tell you everything you need to know about the missions. 2) even if you don't, the missions should still progress: it's because when there's something you absolutely MUST do, there will be a message on screen with a BEEP until you do it. If you ignore that message, the mission won't progress. A great example is the checklists. You won't get takeoff clearance until you complete the taxi checks. If you're not sure what you missed, check the message history menu, and also the checklist on your kneeboard. 3) Watch the tutorials on my YouTube channel. 4) There's a frequently occurring problem: one of the triggers is looking for the flaps being up. Many people only move to switch to the middle position (slats out), so the trigger doesn't fire. Make sure the flap switch really is in the UP position after takeoff 5) If you still get stuck, please post a screenshot of the message history menu so I can see the last messages. It's a lot more helpful than a track or tacview (which I don't even have) 6) I do not work for Heatblur, nor am I an ED developer, I have the same access to DCS as you. I know, sometimes it's not easy to tell what causes a bug, but I can not do anything if the core game gets broken or the F-4 does, it's best to report those issues to ED or Heatblur. E.g. there are no triggers that can make your game crash, and no ways of building a mission to make sure it doesn't happen. Just like the mission editor is not helpful if your joystick breaks, that's an extreme example, but you get my point Alright have fun, and remember to send me those screenshots of the message history menu if there is a problem. Thanks!

Sorry it doesn't, but why aren't you asking Heatblur? Even if there was a bug, I don't have access to the Phantom's sound model. Are you sure it's not other jets at the base that you're hearing?

What do you mean test? Can you be more specific? You mean the Systems check? Or the fence in check?
