  1. Why should it be prevented? It could happen in real life too. A good pilot should fly the jet until the engine stops and not take anything for granted. I hope you added power and went around? BTW the time when the Eagles get home and the time you land are both VERY dynamic and totally unpredictable for me in the mission editor. Actually ,if I could add it to the mission on purpose, it's something I would do, just to test the player
  2. Please report it here, there's nothing in the mission editor that I could do to prevent a game crash (or to produce one for that matter) https://forum.dcs.world/forum/482-game-crash/
  3. That's the point, there are no approach plates. It doesn't even have departure control. You take off, avoid overflying the town, then join the Nellis routes.
  4. The first unit to spawn is followed by the camera. I spawn everyone else 1 second later.
  5. Yes you are joining these routes from Indian Springs at ROCK / PIUTE. It's explained by your instructor too.
  6. Good to hear! Teah when the AI is trying to catch up it goes all out. the group will respect the briefed timings for setting course whether you’re ready or not. make sure your coolers are set to auto
  7. Wait: Climb or level flight? AI climb is hard coded. You need 61" and 3000 RPM there. Level flight - they never go faster than max continuous, usually quite a bit lower. You see, even if they go at max continuous, and you're lagging behind, it takes time for you to catch up even at mil power. we're talking about differences of 5-10 mph. Only judge the AI's power settings once you fly close formation on them. Your engine shouldn't quit btw, unless you're climbing too steeply and slow and you're overheating the engine. Or you forgot to switch the fuel pump on, or you put the mixture into emergency instead of auto.
  8. I think you can do that now that we have the multiple selection lasso tool. You can copy paste everything into a fresh mission.
  9. Thanks, yes, it's a known bug, and a fix is coming in the next update. Apparently something changed and DCS now thinks the static oil barrel is too close for comfort to your assigned spawn position, so it automatically spawns you somewhere else: under a static P-51, because that is sooo much safer. Gotta love the game logic sometimes
  10. I tested and it works for me. Do you, by any chance, have your trigger mapped to the spacebar? If yes, try clearing that assignment.
  11. You need to press LCTRL+E 3 times - no need to open the canopy. Test it in a free flight mission before you attempt again.
  12. https://youtu.be/csFilisqGvU?si=butUPrGaAC4cf9n6
  13. Nah, he's of no importance, he's just there to make sure the player stops, but if you follow the instructions and stop, it won't break the mission.
  14. That must have been quite an experience to taxi by these Vipers!
  15. The AI stops when it meets an obstacle unless it spawns within a few feet, and there is a 0.0001% chance for that. I think you just got really unlucky. Who landed right before you?
  16. Thanks for the mention but I don’t have any plans for the SA map, sorry
  17. Yes, Emily. The column is exactly there. Maybe your nav system got offset for some reason? Have you slewed the TGP perhaps?
  18. Thank you, enjoy the rest of the campaign, I'm looking forward to hearing your final verdict!
  19. Yes, it's BRA that stands for Base Reference Altitude.
  20. I think it's because you have it assigned to the backspace. Assign it to something other than the backspace or the spacebar.
  21. Hmm, I never used the radar. Just the HSI with the course set from bullseye. Chainsaw also tells you the name of the 2 villages the column is in between, so once you find those, it’s easy to spot the vehicles.
  22. @5EVC Tiger OK, I just tested both missions and both worked fine. Do you have any unofficial mods enabled, and are you 100% sure you're using the salute control assignment and not the salute radio command?
  23. What do you mean due to carrier wake? Is it your jet that moves?
