  1. I see both sides of it, but at the same time, if companies like VKB, Virpil, and TM are making these "modular" HOTAS systems, it would be nice to offer the consumer the options of assembling their own units, based on personal preference and play style. At the same time, I understand their concerns about firmware. Further, from a branding standpoint, I can see why they would only want to sell THEIR sticks with THEIR base. Don't exactly want to market for your competitors, do you? All that being said, I wish I could buy the base standalone as well...
  2. So it's settled, we're all looking forward...
  3. Looking forward to your review!:joystick:
  4. That's good, but I haven't seen any reports of people receiving them yet. Not a criticism, but I would like to see a review of a product before I purchase. Its a significant investment for a blind purchase...
  5. And the problem I have is I'm looking for a new base: VKB does offer the base standalone anymore, and Virpil hasn't released theirs yet. C'mon guys...
  6. I'm getting a constant 30fps through the missions on MP, which I can't and won't complain about at all. Ton of fun too, so thank you!
  7. Are we going to be able to bind the nozzle control to the rotary knobs on the X-55?

Maybe not, but they sure fly in and around the NTTR...

Of course, understood. Could use some US air carrier liveries as well, especially for the 737: Southwest Airlines United American Airlines Alaskan Airlines US Air (old) Area 51 (Janet) http://cdn.airplane-pictures.net/images/uploaded-images/2015/3/29/540833.jpg
  10. Both... Unfortunately, its incomplete as well since the mod hasn't been updated in quite some time now.

Now this is what I'm talking about... nice! Hopefully eventually 2.1.1+++ compatible as well!

oof... emphasis on the "P"?
  13. What part of "super" carrier do you not understand?:music_whistling:
  14. I have't done any of the SEA Phantoms yet... might have to wait for another pack
  15. Working on it right now!
  16. No offense taken. When I did my original digging on it all a few months ago, I saw both bases were available for purchase. With work and everything else, I wasn't able to get the stick organized until recently, but by then, things had changed
  17. Again, disappointing that the base isn't for purchase by itself, either. I suppose I'll have to look for another route
  18. That's disappointing... I really have no use for the KG12 grip. If anything I'd rather get their MCG and the base in a combo and swap out depending on what I was flying...
  19. So I wanted the Warthog grip, but not the base or throttle. I'd like to use one of the third parties out there, since I've heard great things about the control offered by their products. So VKB or Virpil? I've heard pros and cons for both, and am leaning towards a VKB base because of its more compact size (easier to use for a desktop mount, if I so wish). So the question is, will either of these companies sell me JUST the base (and any adaptor equipment for compatibility with the TMWH grip) and how backed up are they on shipping said items? For the throttle, I'm going to use an X-55. I like that its generic (the labels and setup of the TM kind of turned me off), and the rotary knobs on the throttle will come in handy eventually for assigning key maps like wing sweep (F-14) and nozzle position (Harrier). This will be my first HOTAS setup, so I'm trying to mix and match to get EXACTLY what I want, since it will also be a significant investment. Also, for those interested, the Warthog grip was $110 shipped. Maybe this is a good idea of what the Hornet grip may end up costing as well...
  20. Generic Euro I Skin: 334th TFS 'SJ' 73-168 53d TFW 'SP' 74-263 21st TFTS 'GA' 67-241 561 TFS 'WW' 69-563
  21. I've been working on skins for the AI F-4E and have been using guides such as this for reference: They list "Hill 1" or what I know as Euro Gray here: https://www.cybermodeler.com/aircraft/f-4/f-4_profile04.shtml The closest I found to what you were doing was a Marine F-4S profile: https://www.cybermodeler.com/aircraft/f-4/f-4_profile01.shtml I've personally have not seen reference or seen any real photos of a 3-tone gray scheme on the F-4, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I hope any of this points you in the right direction
  22. I'm aware of which variant of F-4 served in the RAF and RN, but for the purposes of "simulation" it would be nice to take advantage of the skins available for it. Considering we don't have a timeline for the updated unit models from ED, it would be nice for the existing models to have correct or at least "simulation correct" assignments
  23. Agreed. One issue I'm having, though, is getting skins to show up for USAF Agressor models. Not sure of the country code to put in the description.lua Additionally, it would be nice to have a "Russian Agressors" country coalition for the same purpose...
  24. I think its a little silly that certain countries who have historically used units (or variants of them) that we have in DCS don't have them assigned correctly. Case in point: F-4E for UK, USA M60 Patton for USA MiG-21 for Vietnam There are others, to be sure, but these really stand out in my head, particularly for making era-specific missions, such as Cold War scenarios, in which all of the more modern aircraft we have available in DCS took part in... It shouldn't be too difficult of a change to make?
  25. I was planning on it. As well as their respective Euro Grey liveries, WW tails, and 2 or 3 SEA liveries
