  1. There is always post-production push testing and bugs that make it... even known bugs. Feature complete used to be the standard for "beta" software... that doesn't mean bug free, or even working very well at all... just containing all the features of the final product. Every dev team is different, though.
  2. I sincerely hope they do not give a time line... nothing DCS ever follows a projected time line... just release it and let us all be surprised. They should know it's a day 1 buy for like 95% of DCS users. Screenshots and videos along the way are nice too...
  3. So, if I want to use the TGP to confirm impacts, I have to wait until I drop, then hit WPDSG and zoom out (assuming I have a waypoint for the general target area)? this feels very much like a WIP that could change the workflow dramatically in the future... but i literally know nothing about how the 18's Lpod works IRL. I do know a thing or two about user workflows, however :) I wish we could create waypoints from the TGP :)
  4. It seems to be getting worse. AWACS in mission yesterday was only 80 miles from targets, and was getting nothing on the TID / data link outside of 50 miles from the E-2. Fighter-to-fighter seems to work fine, though.
  5. I've tried TOO mode to load multiple targets via the TGP and it's very tedious, because any time you slew the pod, it's updating the coordinates, as opposed to updating the coords when you TDC depress only... it's weird, and not working at all like it was in any of the tutorials i've found.
  6. I've noticed the countdown not happening or the clocked-track flies off into oblivion too, but the missiles seem to track the correct target... I've also had no issues with dead radar on DDCS (playing with doormouse)... for what it's worth. If I recall, in the last couple days on MP flights, at least one example of the dead radar was because someone in an F-14 took on a human RIO somewhere along the startup process, and Jester hadn't turned on the radar yet... and the RIO forgot to turn it on himself... <shrug>
  7. what a reference! best thing I've read in a while. :megalol:
  8. After STT locking a bandit, I am seeing tracks show up on the TID along the path of the lock line. I've never seen that before... should tracks get generated and displayed like that?
  9. As a track-ir user, I find the head position just slightly too far forward. When I look down, the top of the RWR is cut off (and that's where the biggest threats tend to be). If the default head position was about 3 inches farther backwards, you could look down and easily see the RWR. (some of you might say, well just lean backwards and look down, but, not everyone has that much ability to move, even when using trackIR)... I have no idea if this is an issue with VR.

  11. That video, and more specifically, that song, is fire. HB module vids are the best.
  12. love ya Hummingbird, but i have to disagree with ya... i feel like the stall is very easy to read, compared to the other birds in DCS. i fly with centered stick and a 5 inch extension, though, so maybe that helps?
  13. i've noticed that she needs trim after some maneuvering, but i just chalk it up to she's trimmed differently at different indicated airspeeds, which tend to change a lot from cruising to just after yankin' and bankin'
  14. can confirm, if you tell Jester to change azimuth, i think it puts the radar in tws manual, and then it goes nuts when you fire a phoenix...
  15. 100%, get underneath your target... makes a bit difference in AIM-7M success rate... and pstt when possible. When inside the balistic range, AIM-7Ms are working better than 54's for me, right now... if the enemy even hints at turning toward 90, and dumps chaff, and the aim-54 goes right after the chaff (but i digress).
  16. yeah, thanks, now my brain hurts too... but i'm pretty sure you input reverse yaw input, because the spoiler will induce yaw toward the direction of the roll... which doesn't just reduce lift over the inside wing, but also the inside stabilator (the fuselage would induce big turbulence over the inner stabilator because of the yaw angle of attack)... but, you know, not a pilot, so i could be wrong... ... oh damn, i think i'm all messed up on this... :)
  17. new missile api should open the door for many guidance improvements... still not there yet

    F-15E?

care to share how you know this? (source?)

    F-15E?

we gonna be able to take the conformal tanks off? (cleanest F-15E I've ever seen below):
  20. thank you for the update / response! <3
  21. I didn't see mention of the AIM-54 & AIM-7 guidance changes in the mini dev update, and just was wondering how ED is coming with the API on their side or if you could give a general time frame for some changes to aim-54 guidance. Their current, 120 guidance logic is... frustrating... to say the least... and being able to guide an AIM-54 and / or AIM-7 via PAL / PSTT would be a huge advantage over the notch-tastic ED guidance we have now. (what i mean is, PSTT should be pretty un-notchable when you're underneath the target and at reasonably close range... but i have su-25 and mig-29 yank back on the stick and notch PSTT tracked 54's and AIM-7s inside 10 miles all the time..)

    F-15E?

do we know which one we're getting? (220 or 229) *prays for 229
