  2. Everyone is going in circles. Can we all agree you won't change the mind of the other side?
  3. The DCS version has obogs and a pressure cockpit.
  4. Is like that for every release, wait for the P-47 you will see it also
  5. I think the easiest fix for that in DCS would be for the pilot to die of this is attempted. In RL there are hundreds of variables and I do not think anybody has ever tried, not AFAIK. The rockets on the canopy could burn the pilot, The canopy may not separate properly. The canopy may travel in weird way if jettison like that. The seat should not fire until the canopy has travel far way enough to pull the lanyard that it attach to it, activating the seat. Here you can see how it works Note the lanyard on the canopy as it separated form the cockpit
  6. But the pods where and are used differently in every aircraft. For example, circa 2008, there where 3 version of the AN/AAQ-28 and 2 software version on the F-16 programs. Basically, 6 different version of the pod with different weights, HOTAS, symbology and capabilities.
  7. Training missile, note the blue bands painted on them. ( I was not sure if you where joking about that or if that is what you meant when you wrote you where way off)
  8. One of the worst references since it combines all the blocks. Block 10 with block 50 avionics. Block 15 panels on the block 50 etc etc. Believing BMS is a good reference to DCS is the same that believing both of this cars are the same because they are both made by Chevy and both called Malibu.
  9. Laser Maverick (LMAV) employment has never change since introduced. Target Designation Control (TDC) down (action position) to designate targets with targeting Pod (TGP) has never been needed since moving the cross hair can only be done by pressing the TDC down in the real aircraft and releasing it is the action that attempts to lock the target. So in DCS, moving the cursor is simulating TDC down (action position) and stop moving the cursor simulates letting go of the TDC. This looks more complicated than what it is One example ( of many) on how to use Laser Mavericks now in versions 2.5.6.49798 (openbeta or stable) is: 1 -Electronic horizontal situation Display (EHSD) on left Multi Purpose Color Display (MPCD) 2 -Targeting pod on the Right MPCD 3 -On EHSI select waypoint to target, then on the lower left select (multi purpose button or PB1) select Designate (DSEG). This should point the TGP to or close to the target. 4 -On right MPCD, take TGP out of standby. This will turn the TGP into not underline TDC mode. Note Do not confuse TDC mode for the TGP with TDC switch on the throttle 5 -Pressing Sensor Select Switch (SSS) in twice in less that .8 of a second will switch TGP from TDC to HOTAS mode (HTS). 6 -With TGP in HTS mode, using the TDC switch (HOTAS on the throttle) move the cursor over the target. If the pod recenter, you are still in slave mode ( bottom part of MPCD slave is underline). To correct that, press SSS aft ( or rear) this should set the TGP to area track. On the bottom of the MPCD AR will be underline Note area track is just a good as point track for non moving targets. 7 -Now, target is on the center of the TGP. On top of the TGP MPCD, on PB 6 press Safe, this should arm the TGP laser. 8 -PB9 will switch between training laser, laser and marking laser. Set to laser (LSR) 9 -Pressing PB7 (LRNG) will activate laser ranging to verify target position and slant range 11 -Master mode to Air to Ground (A2G) 12 -On PB5, on EHSD should say code. Press that to set laser code ( this can also be done on the store page for the LMAV) 13 -Select Store screen on Left MPCD, select LMAV here or on the Armament Control Panel (ACP). No waite time require for LMAV (edit ) Forgot to mention to uncage the missile 14 -Point the nose of the aircraft to the target until you can see it on the HUD. 15 -When in range ( I fire within 6 nautical miles but no less than 2nm) fire TGP laser in the right MPCD by pressing PB8 16 -On Left MPCD LMAV should see the laser and lock 17 -master arm to arm 18 -Press pickle button, hold down until weapons release 19 -Once LMAV leave the rail, maneuver to maintain target in TGP field of view. Left bank followed by right orbit should work. 20- continue to fire the laser until weapons impact, upon weapons impact turn laser off by pressing PB8 on right MPCD. 21- Move TGP cursor into a new target and repeat. This is one of many way to do it. You can have a JTAC lasing the target, another aircraft, etc. The point is it has not change since introduced in DCS.
  10. Just go to youtube and search DCS F-16. You will see hundreds of videos. From tutorials to reviews.
  11. Check you Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) Safety Data Sheet (SDS). F-34 ( all its versions) JetA (all its versions) JP-8/JP-5 (all its versions) are the same thing. Jet A is if source from the civilian sector, F-34 normally outside of CONUS and JP-8 US Military (JP-5 USN/USMC). Not all Jet A are equal to each other, same goes for the other 3 names and when you compare them to each other as well. But all four use the same name and have several variations. And non of it matters in DCS....so:dunno:
  12. I love this part of the video ( it is set to the proper time, just hit play) https://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/investigation-finds-stuck-piston-likely-led-to-crash-of-cf-18-hornet-in-air-show-practice/article6220481/
  13. This paper uses references from a block 15 Stability and control report from September 1981 and a block 25 Stability and control report from October 1983. Both of which use a different flight control system that the block 50 in DCS (FLCC as oppose to DFLCC) but a 38 year old reference to an ever changing, constantly updated and/or upgraded aircraft...I you think it has viable or useful information? Good luck:thumbup:

  15. How does it read the ground "directly down" if you bank? Considering the antennas are two square antennas below the nose. This are the radar altitude antennas AFAIK, the rear antenna will read the signal from the front antenna, the time will determine the distance.

    GBU-39

Which one is it? As realistic as possible or realism does not matter?
  19. I doubt tank inerting is modeled, you need it with either fuel and if you look at the fuel gauge quantity is would be obvious what fuel you use since JP-4 is lighter.
  20. Every time I see someone post here: " I read an article" or "in the Greek F-16 manual" ..."So DCS is wrong". Every time I see sentences like that it sounds to me like they are saying: " I read Microsoft windows 95 for dummies, therefore I know everything there is to know about Microsoft windows 10". To me both sentences are equal.
  21. You read an article, I worked on USAF F-16, replaced stab ISA, horizontal stabs, rig flight controls, help trouble shoot, etc. Working on the jet does not make me and expert nor am I all knowing, but that article has nothing to do with USAF F-16 block 50, which is what we have here in DCS.
  22. It is only for pitching down.
  23. Why?
