  1. Awesome! I need ALL THE MIGS!!! Question: Why do some have a huge muzzle brake but others do not?
  2. More money to Razbam so they can hire more staff and get the MiG-19 and Mirage III to us sooner
  3. 2025 is the next 30th of May. Sounds about right. Also included in that patch: C-101CC beta Hawk - release Mi-8 and Huey multi-crew :P

Yes, RMax is indicated on the scale on the right of the HUD. "TIR" is the no-escape-zone.
  5. The M-2000C is averaging an update per month. :music_whistling:
  6. Before raising the collective to take off push the cyclic forward about 25% and hit the trim button. Having the pitch and bank channels active on the auto-pilot also helps.
  7. It is stated in bold on the Steam shop page for the M-2000C.
  8. Makes it seem pretty logical for Steam to want to pursue this change. Steam gets to keep its customers
  9. Accidental team killing would get much worse if both sides were flying with red stars on their planes. The introduction of PBR did wonders to spotting against the ground in some other games so there is hope.
  10. I am sure most, if not all of the naysayers here aren't against the implementation of more advanced atmospheric conditions, but rather are reluctant to support something that may distract ED from working on the game-breaking stuff. For example AI crashing into each other on the taxiway, or when you drop a wheel onto the grass and get stuck having to abandon the aircraft.
  11. From Wiki, 16, 45 and 72 degrees on the MiG-23SM these were increased to 18.5, 47.5 and 74.5 degrees. Doesn't seem this made it into any of the production variants however. Phantom, MiG-23MLD and M-2000C would be a fun playground
  12. No this was just the excuse said person came up with once their mistake was uncovered and they needed to think fast to avoid the gulag. :P
  13. In the course of testing how to defeat Eagles, Flankers and Fulcrums at high altitude BVR I discovered a couple of interesting points on this topic. First in no way connected to the D2M. Can have this turned off or not installed and makes no difference. But most interestingly the alert happens a few moments after the launch. Bandit would launch missile (Fulcrum or Eagle), then turn around 60° after that I get the launch warning. Again this is against AI so can't be sure but suspect they go into STT after turning. Also worth noting the bandits were far easier to defeat by ignoring the initial launch and waiting for the missile to go active (active seeker means a dead motor at range) before defending against it.
  14. Curse you for the second image. Hadn't noticed before but now cannot unsee. :(
  15. Intentional. That is the T-10 prototype, it was to illustrate the blended design better and to show it was a part of the initial design. I'll give you this, the T-10 had deficiencies that showed it would be inferior to F-15, namely vibrations and poor stability at high AOA, the fix for this was to clip the wingtips and move the fins out to the edge of the fuselage and extend them into ventral fins under the engine nacelles. At the same time the wing leading and trailing edges were straightened to accommodate slats and flaperons. Ok yeah that analogy is a bit vague, what I'm getting at is you can't have a Su-27 without LERX, it is such an integral part of the design that the other changes would make it a different plane altogether. NASA did build some pretty sweet F-15s souped up with canards and TVC among other features, HIDEC and ACTIVE. These were able to demonstrate some impressive AOA prowess, but is difficult to judge if the same things could be applied to a combat capable F-15.
  16. R-60s went on the inner wing pylon, gun pods were mounted on the fuselage pylons. Some Flagons were fitted with a cannon in the same manner as the MiG-21 was underneath the fuselage I've been spamming a game dev I know with Su-15 images and docs for a while, possibly to shut me up they sent me this.

  19. I feel my quality of life is severely lessened when this server is down. There's only so many AIM-120's to the face a guy can take.
  20. Whilst this is true for many situations, this is not one of them. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3076197&postcount=698
  21. This would be a more plausible theory if the Su-27 resembled a fuselage and seperate wing with LERX tacked on in the middle ala F-5. But it doesn't. It is a blended wing fuselage design with airfoil sections used throughout the airframe akin to F-16 in order to achieve a lifting body design which would allow for high lift retaining the low drag required for Mach 2 speeds. Is the airfoil cross section of the F-15 wing superior to that of the Su-27 (ignoring the slats) perhaps, perhaps not. I'm not qualified to interpret that level of wind tunnel and flight test data. Maybe not fanboyism but the notion that Sukhoi had to band-aid on LERX because they couldn't (and still can't as this design, like the F-15, is still in production with the changes limited to under the skin) design a proper wing sounds a lot like the American superiority complex to me. Think of my analogy this way then, sticking canards onto a Mirage 2000 won't turn it into a Rafale.
  22. Oh really? That's like saying an F-15 would suck at BVR if it didn't have a radar or an F-18 would suck at carrier landings without a tail-hook. Then adding these things to whatever we like and claiming it is now a superior BVR carrier based fighter. - Completely baseless speculation.
