Any news on the status of the server? Been down a couple of days. And any chance of getting some additional AA at Sochi in the fight for Sukhumi? Lately there've been a few people with reading difficulties bombing/strafing the runway. Cheers

Yes they will work. Sometimes scripting and triggers need to be updated but IIRC 1.5.4-1.5.6 didn't break any of those either.

Carrier Ops how fast does the Kutznetsov steam for flight ops
Dehuman replied to ruddy122's topic in DCS: Flaming Cliffs
It can be stationary and you can land no problem -
I'm liking the new FM, bought back that feel the old one had but kept the relative performance of the previous. SAU recovery seems to be working again rather than being SAU rodeo. Best of all the rudder no longer has that ridiculous yaw authority with minimal roll authority. I will miss those tight hammerheads though. I might just be imagining this one but pitch stability feels better at high AOA too, I'm having an easier time riding the yellow.

Well not exactly sure what I did (I did everything short of re-install DCS, and none of that worked) but after leaving it for a little while and flying some missions with default kneeboard  I gave it another shot and hey presto! all is well again.

Understandable for fighter pilots to behave like that. All the thrill of combat without having the unpleasant side of killing people / being killed. Whenever I hear Americans or Brits complaining that they were "aggressively" and "unprofessionally" intercepted by Russian or Chinese fighters I smile. Aggressive, doubt it, having a good time, definitely.

Since I updated to 1.6.9.8, kneeboard builder breaks all my clickable cockpits and the kneeboard settings (position, size etc) for the FC3 planes doesn't stick with the exception of A-10A which is working as expected. Log attached, scroll down and you can see the errors as I jump between different modules. EDIT: saw your earlier post re: Lite mode, will give it a whirl SECOND EDIT: Nope, didn't work. Even ran a DCS cleanup then repair. log.zip

The fly by wire auto-trim just aims to maintain 1g

It will come. With the demand for it expressed on the forums it would be a terrible business move for any dev to not be queuing up to do it. It's also be a terrible move on. ED's part to shoot down Razbam unless there were already plans underway elsewhere. So just as long as those plans don't involve VEAO or Aviodev we'll get the Flogger before the decade is up.

sorry, couldn't help it

Low fast and level is a pretty effective way to use snake eyes

1. Altitude. If the Tigers don't get you while you're mowing lawns the Stingers will. 2. AWACS (hopefully it's not stuck on the runway) 3. Avoid the hills if possible. 4. Only scan with radar in short bursts. Alternatively use your radar to bait F-5s into a trap. 5. Use R3R. Unlikely to hit but will force them to defend giving you the advantage.

Day + Night = the same, but night also turns on the external refuelling lights. Having adjustment over the doppler rejection would be handy, should lean on ED for that one.

One question what is the fidelity of M2KC flight model?
Dehuman replied to DaveRindner's topic in M-2000
It's ED dragging the chain on that one -
Nice video. I can't land the MiG like that though. Mine are always closer to a three point landing.
-
You can't use IFF in fixed beam or after lock, as in the example I gave. Unless you'd scanned the target earlier, you've got to put you trust in AWACS.
-
Not entirely. In a head on engagement, using fixed beam on the radar you can quickly start emitting, lock, and fire on an F-5 with little warning. This puts them on the defensive and gives you the chance to seal the deal with a couple of R-60's

Are start up, operation, and weapons employment procedures detailed and accurate? Start up can take up to 8 minutes for a full INS alignment or be very quick in an intercept/scramble configuration. I would say yes detailed and accurate but not complicated when compared to older aircraft and helos. Specifically: Systems, avionics, and engine management. Weapons employment , effectiveness, and envelopes. Here I think the Mirage really shines. You really get to feel the limits of a pulse doppler radar. There are some limits imposed upon the module in this regard by DCS itself (ground mapping etc) but these will be overcome in time. Realistic stress limits on landing and TO. Burst tires and broken landing gear? Yes this happens, took me a little while to get the flare just right for a delta wing. Load carried has a noticeable effect on its TO and landing. Flight departure proneness, and departure/spin recovery. The FBW system for the most part looks after itself here, thing the pilot has to watch is the energy state. Getting into flat spins is nonetheless possible as is recovering. Communication systems. AM/FM VHF/UHF, ILS, TACAN/GPS tactical navigation. All of those except GPS,but the INS makes up for it. The ILS is excellent best currently in DCS. -
When I close my DCS I have a crash
Dehuman replied to Skulleader's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
I figured out what the problem is. The 64bit .dll for freetrack. Don't know of a fix though. HeadTracker.zip -
Get the M-2000C. It has a good radar and HUD which will see other aircraft for you. It will also have no problem making full use of your hardware.

Great job! :D I can confirm it's working on the DCS side of things for me (1.5.6 release) However seem to be having some compatability issues with VAICOM -> I can only talk to Sochi. Plenty of parking, two long runways, could be worse ;)
