  1. Dang, which controls do you actually use or do you have multiple setups? I'm also on edge waiting for the brown santa claus to show up (ups driver lol). Anyway it doesn't matter, I still have to wait for VPC to release their throttle before I can really get into rebinding everything.
  2. Waiting on mine to arrive, in the mean time, I've been deciding on a chair/seat solution, so far all I have is a worn out office chair I cut out the middle to make room for column or gimbal base. I'm thinking a car seat now from the junk yard but I still want the middle cut out like a real pilot seat. I like the way you have the stick angled towards you aswell. With a shallow seat depth that would work for me too. Reminds me of this. Maybe its just slacked though, IDK
  3. That looks great.
  4. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=204538&page=4 Been reported, I was going nuts myself lol.
  5. Oh wow, I just was going crazy trying to figure out what I did, I had just installed the Civilian mon and was setting up some Air force one Nellis stuff and when I tested the mission, every single building in the map was missing. Glad to know its not from my end.
  6. These are the two different headers From what I gather, 3.0 is for large data transfers and also is seems to be important for the Rift's HMD but not the sensors. Not sure about having alot of usb stuff plugged in and power draw and all that, or latency in game controllers. This is pretty interesting though. Thanks again all.
  7. I just checked, one of those 20pin usb 3 ports is being used by the case (has 2 3.0 ports on the top front. one is still free and from what I have read, a 20pin can support 2 3.0 usb female ports. If you add a hub, it will introduce latency (not sure how much of a impact though, maybe for transferring large data). I could get a extra two 3.0 usb A female slots that way, btw i couldn't even find the 4 port 2 20pin connection you posted lol. also i might need a extension to get that to snake around the gpu. Another thing I just realized is that the gpu blocks 2 PCIe x1 slots, i have a wifi card in 1 slot at the bottom, then i have the pciex8 and pciex4 slots still available. What really confuses me is the slots are all the same size as the pciex16. This also goes back to me trying to figure out how many PCI lanes I can take up and how many I am currently using.
  8. Didn't even see those, great excuse to use the 5.25 slot aswell. only issue is i won't be able to close the door, that kinda sucks. I will check this out more, only issues i've read so far (haven't had time to really dig into this) is some of those pci cards that are 7 ports actually only have 4 or 3 dedicated ports per usb and then the last 3 or 4 are sharing bandwidth like a usb hub. I wonder if this would be a similiar issue though with this. I see it has one usb to the 20pin connection. Or is it one of those 20 pin connections supports up to 4 ports? I was just skimming the manual now too lol. Thanks for the different advice and input.
  9. What are the line of holes for ?
  10. Wow, such a great idea. Now you gave me the idea to attach the Cougar MFDs whenever mine get here. I'll probably just zip tie them to the desk mounts though.
  11. As I keep getting more and more stuff to plug into the PC, can anyone recommend a PCI USB Card? I would prefer that over a hub. Maybe someone could help explain also like the PCI lanes and how that relates to how many drives are plugged in. So in addition to the PCI USB card, I want to add another SSD, either the m2 (the motherboard use nvme and sata for m2) or just a 2.5 ssd, that depends on price. but I just don't want to strain anything Also nervous about using a m2 drive near the gpu. Here's the PC I use CPU: Intel - Core i7-6700 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor (yes the non k) CPU Cooler: CRYORIG - H7 49.0 CFM CPU Cooler Motherboard: Gigabyte - GA-Z170X-UD5 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard Memory: Kingston - HyperX Fury Black 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory Storage: Samsung - 850 EVO-Series 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive Storage: Western Digital - WD Blue 500GB 2.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive Video Card: Asus - GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB STRIX GAMING Video Card Case: Fractal Design - Define R5 Blackout Edition w/ Window ATX Mid Tower Case Power Supply: EVGA - SuperNOVA G2 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply Operating System: Microsoft - Windows 10 Home Full - USB 32/64-bit Wireless Network Adapter: Gigabyte - GC-WB867D-I PCI-Express x1 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi Adapter Case Fan: Fractal Design - FD-FAN-SSR2-140-BK 66.0 CFM 140mm Fan Monitor: Acer - XG270HU 27.0" 2560x1440 144Hz Monitor Mouse: Logitech - G502 Proteus Spectrum Wired Optical Mouse Headphones: Kingston - HyperX Cloud II 7.1 Channel Headset Speakers: Cyber Acoustics - CA-3602 30W 2.1ch Speakers Other: VPC Stick, Hotas x throttle, rudders (mfg, vkb trudder)
  12. That was the prototype type on first post here. Personally I think a offset might not be the best idea, might strain the gimbal. My opinion though. I’m just going to cut out the center front of my chair and I got some egg crate foam and stuff to pad up my chair and backing. It’s was a cheaper Office chair so no big deal for me. A car chair is too heavy for me to lug around right now.
  13. I see the t-50CM grip is out of stock. Guessing the sale went well. Any news about the throttle yet? I'm just a bit anxious :joystick::pilotfly:.
  14. That magnetic FFB is the way of the future right there, they got a ways to go though for mass appeal. Make the parts smaller and more affordable and improve the fidelity. Its a brillant concept.
  15. I was the kid who took apart everything. Believe it or not the calibration actually was needed according to the test software. Before I ever fully pressed them down, they were already reading max depression but I still had probably a quarter inch of space left to press.
  16. Hello, new owner of the Mark IV pedals and just hoping to see a up to date FAQ or Official thread on this site for the English speaking users. It's the first pair of rudder pedals I've owned, bought on impulse. I'll start with a mini first impression and share with you the steps I have taken since I've first plugged them in. Hardware itself is really nice and great quality. The default tension is a little too soft, I plan on increasing the tension, but I like the default detent. Instructions for tension increase is in this video: Next I simply followed the included instructions which is also online here. https://vkbcontrollers.com/?product=t-rudder-quick-guide Setup is simple, very simple. Next was the software side. I've read "horror" stories about using windows calibration and how that can mess with the firmware on different devices so I avoided that. I downloaded the Wizzo as the directions said to calibrate first but that isn't working for the pedals or they just were not recognized. Assuming that is a WIP. So far that is only for the Gladiator. The pictures in the quick guide did relate that perhaps it was for the Joystick more so. So I downloaded the VKB Device Config Software Version:VKBDevCfg-C_v0_83_9_6 Latest as of Jan 12th 2018 Here is the FTP of all VKB Software http://ftp.vkb-sim.pro/Programms/ I started it up and clicked on the only device recognized, I see the picture of the Black Box pop up in the top right corner. I didn't see a option for calibration and the software itself is intimidating. So I just closed it, far to eager and excited to try them. I boot up dcs and xplane. It seems to work fine and have no problems. Both Sims recognized them and I got them assigned to their rudder/yaw/torque axis. So, it would seem I got abit of research ahead of me now, the VKB Config manual is super advanced. I read about check the AC (Auto Calibrate) box, perhaps I can find that in the Config software. Will see how and if its needed. Also to learn abit about this will hopefully prevent any issues in the future. I just wanted to get this thread started before I dive back in to the game and software and report back if I learn anything of value to share. ______________________________________________________________ Update: I figured out how to calibrate the pedals in the Config. It was actually very easy once I gave it a look over. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Any other owners out there with advice, mods, tips?
  17. Dang, guess you guys didn't get as bad as we did down here (ny,pa,nj tri state) with the snow storm today. So who took over shipping, ups? was it a signature req for ya?
  18. Long flights are better as coop and single player or large organized events with start times. The current model of on going servers with 24/7 missions are designed more for drop in and out action. suggest joining a group which is something I need to do.
  19. Also make sure to save the profile for each plane and make a copy of it some where.
  20. Hawaii and all the islands. With a possible ability to have a 1940s version and modern version. Korea with bits of the sea of japan. Even possibly include some land of japan to atleast take off from. Also to include small portion of China. Mediterranean Solomon Islands (Guadalcanal) 1940s version Vietnam 1960/1070s In no particular order. __________
  21. Ordered the T-50cm and base and other goodies. Now I need to get rudder pedals and a throttle, suggestions welcome.
  22. Thanks alot for this mod. Brings me back to the days of Jane's Dos Sims (ATF, USNF, Nato Fighters, FA). They had alot of 'Save the VIP and escort them to safety' missions. Does this mod have the IL-96? If so, when the F-14 comes out we can recreate the 'Eviction' Mission from 1993s US Navy Fighters. Someone can splice the FMVs from the game with DCS footage lol.
  23. A MiG-15 squadron you say....LOL JK That is pretty cool actually. It would be kind of cool to create a Aggressor squadron for players based in the USA and we fly just the Soviet planes lol. The 15, 21, and the 29/27. Edit: Just checked out the Mig-15 squad, that is really cool. I like how you can submit reports about sorties you've done on the server. Do you go back and check their claims against server reports? Can you even do that? .
  24. I will just walk away from the PC after I join a server now. Rare cases of freezes on loading screen does happen, sometimes even dumping me back to server selection. Just wait it out and don't touch anything. After getting into the server, its still another couple of minutes to load in all the objects and stuff before you can select a slot. Just move the mouse around till it is working in real time on the slot selection.
  25. Is there a peak period for the server you have noticed? When I say 'peak period' I'm asking when or what time is the server most busy.
