  1. We are opening recruitment for 2 F-18 pilots, 1 F-14 pilot and RIO. We flight nightly and have 2 scheduled flights per week; Wednesday and Saturday @9pm eastern. We have members from the US, Canada, and Europe. We have 3 dedicated servers; Combat, Training, and Air-to-air training operating. You must be able to commit to at least 2-3 flights per week over the winter; we slow down over the summer months. https://vcaw1.com// How we work: CVW-1 is membership driven, we provide dedicated TeamSpeak and SRS (Simple Radio) Servers as well as at least one (1) dedicated mission server at this time. A 5 person administrative staff handles the background work to maintain the website, servers and other operational components required to keep our group running day to day. Each squadron will have a CO, XO team that will handle the squadron’s operation, however we don’t use rank to segregate or stipulate what active members can and cannot do. We encourage members to take active rolls within the group to provide quality additions when and where they can. We embrace a team concept, where no voice or ego out shadows another. How we train: CVW-1 has built a training program that brings together the experiences of real world military aviators, aircraft maintainers, and service members, and combines it with actual CNATRA and Fleet Squadron Training materials. Where the limitations of the simulation affect the ‘realism’ factor we adjust the training appropriately. Our training program provides the base for incoming pilots to build upon as they join the fleet, but not at the expense of the fun factor. We don’t accept that this hobby should feel like a job sometimes, and you shouldn’t either. Rest assured that all of our members have completed the training syllabus prior to reaching a fleet squadron. We don’t offer training waivers, nor do we require applicants to do anything every active member hasn’t already done. Ongoing training is key, and as new procedures or pipelines open up, members will have a chance to qualify via training. How we fly: We simulate Carrier aviation, which means 90% of our operations will begin and end on the ‘Boat’. As a member you should expect runways that move, and dark nights that require attention to detail, and an adherence to training. We also strive to simulate real world aerial environments and engagements. Not every flight will end with bombs dropped and missiles fired. We aim to simulate not just combat, but peacetime operations as well. We also realize this is a hobby, and try not to take ourselves too seriously. The ultimate goal is to provide a fun and professional environment where member’s time is well spent, and friendships are built and maintained. Where we plan to go: It is important to understand that currently Carrier Aviation in DCS is in its infancy. We have selected the DCS F/A-18 as our primary aircraft, but our ultimate goal is to embrace additional carrier aircraft as they become available. We currently require incoming members to own the Hornet module as a minimum, and this will be a standard requirement. All of our training will be conducted utilizing the F/A-18 module. We will continually evaluate were we stand, and how we operate within the DCS environment, and where we see opportunities to adapt new technologies we will. Currently we are testing for implementation of Carrier Air Traffic Control (CATCC) and LSO technologies to provide true to life carrier operations. Check back here periodically, to see what new testing we are doing.
  2. Not sure who flies the F5 or M2. We fly the F18 and F14 and have a dedicated training program. We expect members to fly at least twice per week minimum. If the F18 or F14 interest you please check us out. https://forum.vcaw1.com/
  3. It was a lot of fun. Great bunch of folks with a lot of knowledge and skill were participating. Thanks for cutting out my not one but two bolters haha. Loved the banter as well. Looking forward to your next movie release; your first one was really well done. Amazing to see the talent in the community. Thanks for having us!
  4.:thumbup: That and fix some of these lingering DCS bugs in multiplayer like the repeating ATC clearance, folded wings, and open canopy (just saw this one this evening, and frame rate drop the longer you're on the server. I do appreciate EDs honesty. Disappointed but its not the end of the world.
  5. Clips from pickup flights. Despite its bugs this is a beautiful sim.

  7. We enjoy your server but there are a few annoyances that prevent our wing from flying more on it. First, why do you not force clients to use SRS. There are too many people on the server that neither text or use voice comms. If you want realism you should force SRS. The texting thing is really silly in a study sim. Second, it might be a good idea to reduce the weather or statics; frame rate can be bad at times. These are meant to be constructive criticisms in an effort to improve the overall sim play. cheers
  8. Huge disappointment after the hype, but the issue is very little is said after other then it didn't transition well into the update there's been little else said. Its a difficult balance for ED. I think most folks understand that. Personally, I don't want anything new added to the sim yet. I'd like to the baseline stuff bug free, and then new things added.
  9. It would be great if they stopped implementing new things and fix what we have.
  10. Seems to be issue with on line particularly using the GUI; laser bombs not working etc. What happened to the promised VR improvements we were suppose to get?
  11. I use it for our tanker and it works fine.
  12. That's not really a work around. If that's how to get it to work its just as easy to load dumb bombs and CCIP them.
  13. As far as we can conclude if you ramp start on a server the laser guided bombs with the TGP are not working. If you ramp in single player off line or start in the air it works, but we have had no success hitting targets with LGB and TGP ramp starting on our server. edit: sorry I see Drillin already posted this.
  14. Anyone have any issues with sound files not looping when set to radio transmission?
  15. Annoying menu popping up is back or perhaps never fixed; I've lost track.
  16. Well stated! I pre-purchased the F16 and regret doing it. Most on our wing did not pre-purchase this time because of the slow development on the hornet. I understand they need to have a constant revenue stream but shifting people to test their latest product A-8 at the expense of a product people have paid for is ethically wrong.
  17. VR improvements is a big one I'm waiting for. Need better game play before more weapons.
  18. Let's not forget we are getting VR improvements, which although not Hornet specific it is still great. The guys on our wing are looking forward to that!
  19. +1
  20. Nice!
