  1. I noticed on the server that the personnel placed by the mission builder animate initially, but after sometime they become static. Is this a bug?
  2. Sad dude :(
  3. ...and no they are testers according to Discord closed beta.
  4. I wouldn't buy it if that was the advertisement for it. Wags and Glowing Amram do a great job at promoting it. That video was an insult and joke.
  5. My understanding is there are some very good testers from good wings, but I'm sorry these GR guys should not be testing something and making a joke of something that has been delayed a few times and folks are not very happy about.
  6. What kind of testing is this? Is this ED's testers for the carrier? If that's testing it explains why we are getting bugged filled crap. :(
  7. … or they are more meticulous and seeing the issues.
  8. What is happening with things like the net code? There are issues with it but I haven't seen much discussion about it. As an example, last night's wing flight we had some guys with no datalink and no hostile contact, some guys with no contacts including friendlies and datalink. Some guys seeing folks not connected to the CAT when they were connected. The radar issue has been an ongoing problem for sometime. We've also notice in VR you can visually see a contact from a good distance 10+ miles but as you get closer it disappears. As a hardcore online wing these issues are very important to us but receive little attention or denied that there is anything wrong. We've seen this when flying on other servers as well. What is happening with the dedicated server software? We use to be able to have 4 or more server instances running and now we are limited to two; there has been no information regarding the status of this that we are aware of. The core sim is worse than it was 2 years ago and yet there's still a push add more items that will no doubt introduce more bugs and issues. I'd like to also hear from other hardcore wings who fly realistic flight missions on their experiences.
  9. Not if it is the same group that have been testing for the past 2 years  Most beta testers want the latest thing before others have it; a few of them have been bragging on here how much fun they're having with the new carrier, which is in poor taste given the mood of many DCS players. If they're having fun their not testing it properly. Look at what they look for in their testers, basically its the fanboys that are never critical, and that is a mistake. They need the serious hardcore guys who will be blunt and to the point. So, don't expect anything any different from the usual updates we get where 2 things are fixed and 4 new bugs added.
  10. Spawning 14 pilots at once and night lighting are the biggest features we are waiting for.
  11. You should not be personally offended by any comments here. You are a representative of Eagle Dynamics, not a private citizen on this forum, and as such your "personal" views should never come into play. Customers are frustrated and they have every right to be; they did not create the issues or delays; over zealous planning did. The carrier was suppose to release the 1st quarter, then April 15, and that's fine, but listen to your customers and let them vent. You should never show any "personal" regard or disregard for anyone posting here. That's a quick way to lose the company you represent customers. Hopefully, Raytheon continues to be part of the DCS community, which is not large.
  12. Nice visual would be water vapor/droplets on the canopy when passing through clouds. Seen this in IL2 and it looks great and adds more realism. Also, rain drop on the ground and perhaps a sheen for wet pavement.
  13. As pilots complete or drop out of the training program we open slots. So, we are opening 3 slots for the European side of the wing; VMFA-321. North American side currently has a waitlist so there are no slots available at this time for North American seats. Where's the Euro hornet drivers. Open seat available: 3 - F18 pilots Europe - open 0 - F18 pilots North America Training can take up to 3 months, or as little as 2 weeks. It depends on your current skill level and commitment to fly. We are looking for people who can commit to at least one scheduled flight per week; preferably two. If you can't commit to that we are not the wing for you. Click here and then recruitment. https://forum.vcaw1.com/
  14. We've identified our issues as mission related. Seem to be smoother for me. Noticed a little rubber banding but barely noticeable. Have identified why the mission was causing issues, but will sort that out later.
  15. A lot of issue with our server. All guys are experiencing stutters, rubber banding, stationary ai aircraft. Seems to be only in PG right now and could be the mission. We are changing the mission out now.
  16. You made the right call dude.
  17. What an odd thing to post.
  18. It is actually funny how upset some folks are. I understand if you just joined the forum or just started flying DCS, but if you've been here for the past 2 years or more and are surprised the carrier wasn't released, well...I can't post here what I'd like to without getting another infraction haha.
  19. Yes, better to delay then add more bugs. I hope ED continues to work on the base sim because without a stable base we have nothing. ED's biggest problem is there cryptic communication with the community and their over zealous opinion of their skill and ability to complete projects. I'm not saying this to be rude but ED has a history of saying they will do A,B,C when they partially implement A only. ED should be a classroom study in PR failure and extremely poor project management. Again, not trying to be rude because it is always better to say we will do A,B and then deliver A,B,C, and or D. Most customers do not care about the internal issues of a company. Customers care about getting what they've order when they are told they will get it; over estimate and stop under estimating delivery. I'm disappointed like many others, but in my opinion, it is better to hold the release until it works. Get some new community managers or allow the ones you have to speak freely. The extremely poor and cryptic messages posted by them was ridiculous; (read the news release ;) wink wink ) was the just odd; this isn’t some sort of flirting ritual. There is no reason to be cryptic with your customers.
  20. Appears there are still memory leaks. Stuttering and fps drops are random and hit online players at different times. Sometimes very smooth while other times choppy. Happens in all theatres.
  21. We get it occasionally. I don't really have an explanation why. We chock it down to poor net code. Sometimes radar will not detect targets; restarting and reconnecting fixes this. We also get issues where 3 people can call the tanker, while 4 people cannot. Its random and doesn't happen all the time. Hoping ED puts more effort towards the core sim including netcode.
  22. That could be because easy radio is turn on in your mission.
  23. If you're gaining altitude you're probably going to fast. Bring up the checklist on the DDI (it appears in the top right, if not hit the menu button again and you'll see it). Check your weight which is shown about halfway down the checklist. You AC weight will determine your approach speed. The lighter you are the lower your speed. You should be below 34,000lbs to trap. If you are trimmed properly and have the correct speed the Hornet pretty much stays on AOA with constant minor throttle movement. You can literally take your hand off the stick and throttle fly. I'm not sure what weight your at but I'll assume 34,000lbs or slightly below. Get your speed down to around 145 or so and trim the jet to keep the E bracket centered and increase or decrease your speed about 5kts at a time until the aircraft stabilizes. Never stop moving the throttle back and forth; small movements. Once you hit the correct speed the AOA will be steady and the aircraft very stable and easy to fly. You should be able to bank the jet, take your hand off the stick and it will turn very smoothly to line up on the carrier (assuming you're flying the correct CASE 1 pattern)
  24. As pilots complete or drop out of the training program we open slots. So, we are opening 4 F-18 slots for the North American side of the wing VMFA-115 Two seats have been filled, so we are down to: 0 - F18 pilots North America. - closed 2 - F18 pilots Europe - open Training can take up to 3 months, or as little as 2 weeks. It depends on your current skill level and commitment to fly. We are looking for people who can commit to at least one scheduled flight per week; preferably two. If you can't commit to that we are not the wing for you. Click here and then recruitment. https://forum.vcaw1.com/
