  1. This was asked on the bug report page...but I figured I'd show you the right and wrong way to go through power lines. It should be pretty obvious that under normal conditions you should not even attempt to go through power lines...but in case you need to, here's how:
  2. Here you go guys:
  3. Most of the time yes. What I do is I copy the config folder to my desktop and then load the profile for that other version from there. But the problems come if something massive was changed/removed/added. But in theory that shouldn't happen too often.
  4. Were testing a fix for it now. ED is already aware of it.
  5. Well it's using the right weapon for the right job. You wouldn't use a HOT3 for a heli, you would use a Mistral missile. Gazelles fly in groups so they protect each other.
  6. I'll see if I can get them. But keep working on the great design for now.
  7. Just the rudders. We have a change coming up (not sure if it's in beta yet) that should resolve the skid issue. That wasn't much of a FM issue then collision model thing.
  8. Nope. The Gazelle is French, not Russian.
  9. Thanks. Will test this weekend.
  10. Will test this...but will need all the info from the bug report thread filled out so we can work on this.
  11. Awesome! I couldn't resist...even the Hello Kitty version has a fan tail!
  12. if you want a fun challenge: Trying to get my kids to fly more with me.
  13. With great power comes great responsibility. Don't push the engine too hard or she'll taker her union mandated break and you'll be a sinking brick.
  14. Well, new "toys" will be coming soon in the form of rockets and guns. Of course were also working on a version for the Mistral missile as well. They'll be a Gazelle for all your needs. I'll see if I can get a list for you, but stay tuned to the change log thread up above since we update that when we can.
  15. Download it again...should be v2 now with the extra PSD files.
  16. I let our 3d guy know....we'll look into it.
  17. Moderator - please sticky! So you've asked for it, and we hear you. We finally got the PSD for you guys to make your own skins. Were looking forward to seeing what awesome you guys create and lets use this thread to showcase you awesome work. For those squads which are adopting the Gazelle we'd love to see what skins you come up with and to show our appreciation - please feel free to shamelessly plug your squad with the squad info (website, member locations, any other info). http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1925303/index.php UPDATE: Updated file with missing files. Enjoy. UPDATE 2: Added even more files on May 21 UPDATE 3: How is everyone today...good? I know you wanted more files...so latest version is now Gazelle_skinsV4.7z.
  18. It has the TV module, but not IR, nor the capability to guide a HOT3 Missile. For anti tank fun, use the M version.
  19. Vivian is the fancy camera with IR capabilities and also the ability to direct the HOT3 missile. The L version will have just the TV component of it, so no HOT3 missile capabilities for that.
  20. Awesome documentary! And at the 25:00 mark there is a gazelle auto rotation for you folks!
  21. I'll try to get a video this weekend of it when I do some more bug testing. But was quite fun going through a lot of wires without getting hurt. I should mention that ED doesn't actually cut the wire, which I can understand because the lag would be horrible if it had to keep track of thousands of wires. So you'll live and the wire will still be there.... But overall...avoid them.
  22. I guess if you got good enough you could point the laser in some infantry eyes and cause them eye damage. But not sure that's modeled in ED just yet.
  23. Well it's a 1970's scout helicopter. Back then they just called out targets on the radio to the other guys. People have been killing each longer before lasers were around.
  24. So did some quick testing yesterday...planning on doing official test flight this weekend, but here's what I found out: Like in real life, the main goal of the cable cutter is to spot the cable from hitting the blades. If you are going to hit cables, you need to make sure they hit your canopy and then the will be moved to either the top or lower cable cutter. So In the quick test I did I hit the cables directly on making sure my rotor blade was just a bit higher - no damage. If I hit it too low and my blade contacted - normally lost the rotors and didn't make it. More testing will be done this weekend. But essentially, avoid flying into wires...but if you do make sure the rotor blades are above them.
  25. Yeah I was fully fueled on my test. Will test more this weekend.
