Will make video of what I saw. But that video is great Fflar.....I'll take screenshots later to look at all your settings so I can properly record it.

It's in the works...but other stuff is more a priority. Although I personally can't wait to see what skins you will make. Hoping to get a Hello Kitty one...because nothing will scare your enemy more then a nimble pink heli with Hello Kitty on the side. Physiological warfare baby!

So did a quick test tonight while testing some other things and I think I was able to replicate it somewhat. I was going around 150 trimmer almost full nose down. In that position, pulling the cyclic back didn't do anything it seemed until about 3/4 of the way back in which the nose pitched up. While I didn't see it go down, it seems like there is something going on here. So now I know I can replicate it, going to see if its an actual issue or something that actually occurs in the real Gazelle. My hypothesis is that when trimmed like that the SAS tries to keep it straight, and might not like any small inputs (I think in your case it's even going against you). It sounds a lot like the fighting with the SAS, which real pilots endure as well. But I will do more testing this weekend and try to get feedback from the real pilots and engineers.

We have some internal names for him, since we know who he's modelled after. But maybe we'll start a contest to give the Commander an official name. I'll see what the Polychop team thinks about it. I personally think it would be cool to have little dolls made of the commander so I can freak out my kids with.

Thanks guys. Would you say you guys are at the limit of the trim when this occurs? Might be an issue with the trim limit that we need to look at. I have it on my list to test during mt test flight this weekend so will see if I figure out the issue and start working on a fix.

Kind of a good question. Although the answer is no, since the showing of the body is just a graphical thing. But makes me wonder what the weight of the pilots is, since it had to be calculated for the FM.

Anyone who can reproduce would help. Trying to pin down if it's just 1.5.3. beta or release as well at this point. Will also need to test 2.0.2. We schedule a test flight for this weekend to test.

Will review the track and see if I can reproduce. Thanks.

I usually put down his visor before I even start the hell up. If you think he's creepy now, try him out in the oculus rift where you can feel him sitting next to you invading your personal space.

So decided we should have a little fun. So come up with a good story to why the commander is missing. Here's mine: So I had a big breakfast before the flight and I guess I had too many hash browns. On the the way to the target zone I let out a huge fart. The command looked at me with spooky eyes, opened his door and jumped out. And yeah....next update you'll be re-create this by pressing shift-p to cycle through pilot, no pilot, and no pilot and commander. So your welcome.

Games that are designed for it work amazingly. Not sure if you can access the Oculus Home with the Dk2. But it's basically like an app store for VR games and apps. I tried some of the free ones and they are amazing. I still haven't spent any big money of the bigger games, but I might just have to soon.

Closer object like gauges and dials are easier to read. The Gazelle cockpit looks amazing with it. Stuff that you would normally have to zoom in for you'll have to lean in for (like switches with smaller writing). Distant object have gotten better, but there is still room to improve. With the A-10C I was able to do gun runs without issues and saw my targets ok. I think in air to air you might not see the enemy as quickly...but I don't do much air to air.

So quick question since I don't use the warthog. Do you assign the keys to it in DCS, or does it have it's own applications that mimics a keyboard command when a button is pressed? Will review tracks and check it out. But remember that autopilot relies on the gyro to function. So if not aligned nothing will work right. Plus different autopilot modes have different requirements. I'll check the track and see what I can see.

Low fps in 1.5.3 compared to Belsimtek UH-1D
Mt5_Roie replied to fjacobsen's topic in Bugs and Problems
Just for added reference, can you guys start adding your simulator settings (high, medium, or low) so we can reference that as well? Graphic engines I believe are still slightly different between 2.0.2 and 1.5.3 so that could be contributing to the issue. -
Cupholder...sure. I'll see what we can do.

When I started with Polychop I made a video for them using the DK2 since none of the other team members had it. It was amazing then even with the DK2. With the CV1, things get a little more clear. Personally I'm keeping my DK2 and hopefully will be able to set up another computer so I can have a commander sit next to me with the DK2 on while I fly with the CV1.

Wasn't you, was someone else that was going from the actual manual of a different version. Nice catch!

Touche.....I blame my migraine for my lack of remembering. As far as I know, and will have to confer with the real pilot on this, auto-hover does exist on the Gazelle, but there is not indicator for it. I would assume it something they would feel when activating it from the cyclic. I heard rumors that on hover check they activate it to make sure it's working before taking off as well. So I always do the same. The only difference (again from my understanding) is that the collective part isn't in the auto-hover, just the cyclic. But for the same of the simulator and since we want people to enjoy the commander slot we added it. In the future when multi-crew is added and in use that might go away. We'll always have the current auto-hover for when your play single player though.

So I was hoping to make a video about this, but currently grounded with a pretty bad migraine. So I'll type it out for now and video will come later. The goal of this video/post was to make you guys better at reporting bugs in order to help us get as much information as we need to try to resolve it. So when you report a bug, I (or some other Polychop person) looks at it and then tries to gather as much information as possible. It's a lot like any espisode of air crash investigators. We have to try to figure out exactly what happen. That way we can find out why it happened and if it needs to be fixed. So in order to make our lives easier I've created a little template of information I would like you guys to use when submitting a bug report. This will hopefully help reduce the amount of questions I have to ask, and will in theory help us squash the bugs quicker. BUG TEMPLATE <copy and past this into a NEW THREAD bug report and fill out>: Description: <give a description of what happened and what you expected to happened. Example: I activated Auto Hover and it didn't activate. I was below 18 km/h, my pitch was close to 0, and VVI was close to 0. I've attached screenshot of my configuration. This can be repeated and happen on SP and MP.> DCS Version: <ideally we'd like the version number at the bottom right of you menu screen> Steam: <let us know if it's a Steam version or not....although Gazelle won't be on Steam until May 27th...but don't tell anyone that, cause its' a secret...so shh> Map: <While DCS version would tell us map, in the future they'll be merged so it's good habit to report the map as either Caucus or Nevada. We'll have more in the future as well...so yeah.> SP/MP: <Let us know if this happen in single player or multiplayer> Reproducible: <Can you reproduce the issue over and over again? This is important because if the issue can be reproduced it should be easier to fix. Things that occur in random are hard to pin down> Step to Reproduce: <Make a numbers list of the steps you took to reproduce the issue. The more detail the better since I or another Polychop member will have to reproduce it.> Screenshot/Video available: <When something happens, take a screenshot. Video is good too. But screenshots anyone can do. It's important because like a Air Crash Investigator, we'll look at you gauges and switches to determine what state your aircraft was in and how it should have functioned in that state. The more screenshots the better.> Track Available: <If possible, save the track of the mission you experienced the issue in. Also, if you could report around what time in the mission it happen it would help.> Mission File: <Please attach the mission file so we can see if the issue is possibly mission related and not Gazelle related. > Controllers: <Quick list of the controllers your using and curves and saturation for them> OS: <Optional but good to know since we might have issue that might be OS Dependant> RAM: <Optional, but needed in case of FPS/graphic issues> GPU: <Optional, but needed in case of FPS/graphic issues> Mods: <Optional, list any mods you are using such as texture packs, or sounds packs. This will help to try to figure out if the its the mod or the Gazelle causing the issue. If you are trying to reproduce the issue and have mods, please disable them before reproducing. It is also recommended you run DCS repair as well to ensure the integrity of your file structure. Sometimes outdated Mod can cause issue with newer file systems and can lead to issues.> Any Additional Information: <anything else you think we need to know about the issue. If you want to add a funny joke in here, I'm all for it as well>

Nice pit. Hard to compare the two in my opinion because they sort of serve in different ways. Huey is a utility vehicle that is wide and big and heavy. Its' got a powerful engine to get things from one place to another. The weaponry on it is cool...but limited to unguided. She's also pretty easy to fly with a little learning. Gazelle is a recon/attack chopper. She's light, nimble, sexy, and skinny. On long flights your can feel the cramp cockpit and the weird body odor of the commander. She's got a fan tail, which makes her unique. She got guided and unguided weapons (coming Soon™). She's easy to start up, but takes some time to learn to fly her. But when you do...its magical.

Anyone else look at this picture and say, "Where the hell is the gyro switch?" Also, for those who complained we modeled the starter switch wrong (since other version do have a different version with the ON and IGN) check this switch out.

Any details on how to mount a hall sensor in one? I'd be interested in that.
