  1. I agree....I spend too much money on some things (like an Oculus CV1) that buying a collective is a little out of my price range. Would rather build a new one. Plus, really looking forward to learn how to use a hall sensor since it more accurate the a pentameter.
  2. Very nice and love that picture!
  3. I built a collective using pvc pipe and a electric junction box. Wired it to a USB controller and mounted on to a X52 Throttle. While it works mostly, I find that it's not as sensitive as I would like - so I've gone to using my X65 throttle for now until I can either fix the current collective, or rebuild a new one with a rotory in there to give me what I need. That collective with all the bottons looks impressive. Is it for sale somewhere or is a custom design?
  4. Yep. I have a sidewinder joystick somewhere in my closet I have to dig out to help with the testing for it. Haven't really used it much but many heli pilots love it so will learn to use it. Out of curiosity, I'm only aware of the Sidewinder and Logitech 940 having Force Feedback - are there any other joysticks with feedback you guys use?
  5. Do you have the mission file for this so I can see if I can replicate it?
  6. One of them is a regular DCS pilot who's flown all of the heli's and many of the module...not sure exactly how many hours, but I could ask him. Actually they did. When discussing the SAS system they shared the sentiment that sometimes you feel like your fighting with the SAS for control. It happens on the real Gazelle just like it happens with our SAS. While the Gazelle is in the "light" helicopter adding a Vivian system plus HOT3 missiles does add quite a bit of weight on her. Then add the pilots, who sometimes indulge in too many sweets...and your really weighted down. So typical load is half fuel and 2 HOT3 missiles. But remember, elevation also plays a key part in this. The elevation in Nevada is quite higher then that in Caucus. So in Nevada the Gazelle would have a harder time lifting off when heaver.
  7. I'm going to see if I can dig up the two 7" usb displays I have. They are somewhere I storage. I used them for MFD's on the A-10c for a bit before I got a second monitor. Might have to un-retire them and build a Nadir and Tv for my pit.
  8. Will ask him tomorrow, he's offline now.
  9. Sure, Warthog with no curves or saturations.
  10. Can I hire you to take pictures at my kids birthday party? These pictures are amazing!
  11. So when the aircraft is in auto-hover mode, the cyclic stick can act to move the camera. Otherwise, you need to use the slew buttons to move the camera.
  12. So last Sunday the Polychop folks has two special guests on our Teamspeak channel. Both are in the ALAT (French Army Light Aviation) and both operate in he SA-342M. We met with them to discuss some of the weapons additions were doing and to get some information and feedback from them. They are a great bunch of guys, and spoke english very well. This meeting took place around 18:00 GMT. So we got talking about the Flight Model because our goal is to make it as real as possible. We value all feedback on it, but we especially listen to those who are actually in the SA-342M when it flies and know what she's suppose to feel and behave like. Their feedback was that our Flight Model was incredible and real close to the real thing. While we love the praise we inquired to how to make her better. The only suggestion they had was to implement force feedback - which we are working on. So whats the moral here? First, always plan a meeting on mothers day so you can avoid tons of chores your wife makes you and you kids do. Secondly, were very close to the real Flight Model and we'll keep working hard to make her better.
  13. Spoiler alert...they loved it. https://www.helisimmer.com/reviews/polychop-simulations-sa342-gazelle-for-dcs/
  14. While I like the concept as a cockpit builder myself, the 3D model itself is intellectual property of Polcyhop Simulations. So it's something we have to protect. The artists put many years into creating the beauty that you see before you today, and just giving it away is not an option. But I can see if we can pull the data you need though on the collective and let you know.
  15. Auto-hover maintains a 10m square hover. So it's move naturally due to wind and external effects. But in auto-hover you can't tell it to fly sideways. You can disable the auto-collective © and control the pitch though.
  16. I fly it with the Oculus Rift CV1 and she is amazing to fly with it. The Steam version usually comes out a couple weeks after non-steam release...so hold tight.
  17. Aircraft have gotten better. I find that ones without bodies for the pilot tend to be scarier. The HUDs on the FC3 aircraft have gotten better. The gun sites on the WW2 is still hard to look at with both eyes. Here's a video I did recently:
  18. Ok I'll do some testing and see if I can replicate it.
  19. It's in the bug report to be tested. We'll keep you posted. Actual checklist has it going back to OFF after engine is started up.
  20. Most Farps also have a radio beacon you can home in on in that case. But I like the Nadir better.
  21. Do you have something mapped to the Laser button cover? The only reason it shouldn't work is if the Laser button cover is on.
  22. Well I think being able to do a walk around of the aircraft would be awesome and check systems. You could even have random failures you could catch in the walk around that would need to be fixed before flying. Really a lot of cool potential with VR.
  23. Looks great....will you guys be going the DCS 3rd Party route? Oh and Oculus already has plenty of my money....and will keep getting it. DCS and Oculus Rift is an amazing combinations. I actually haven't even looked at the other things on the Oculus home site yet.
  24. I think thats more nickel worth then two cents. Great info!
