http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=93633 From the official announcement.. don't expect any discount for FC2 owners.
-
ED did say FC3 would be released in September...but no specific day. But the potential for slippage/delays is very real.

Multiple monitors / windows / views?
MadTommy replied to garyn123's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
No, not that i'm aware of. Certainly never heard of anyone trying it. And i certainly can't think of how you might try to do this. -
Nice mod, cheers. I'll answer for you :music_whistling: The Ka50 has a helmet mounted targeting system (i cant remember the correct name for it)... that uses H keystroke by default. For night missions you can replace this with NVGs... via the ground crew comms menu (if i remember correctly). So you need to have the NVG loaded via contacting the ground crew and asking for it to be installed. The NVGs then use the H keystoke by default. In the key listing NVG might not be listed. The 'control indicator' is an overlay that shows you the position of your control inputs.. rudder, throttle, pitch, roll. it is only normally needed for fault finding with your HOTAS/Pedals..

Oh I liked the 'WTF they released it without a peep!' method. It just amused me for some reason, i think because it was so left field. I mean who releases a game with no announcement or similar..master stroke!

Thanks Viper, very helpful

Curious... why do you say assuming SP... would this not work for a MP mission assuming we are taking about the host?
-
Cheers. I clearly need to fly the F15c more. I'll need to test this myself as i can't quite picture what you mean. (probably just being dense)
-
By rolling? Can you explain what you mean. I suppose i was simply responding to the claim that the F15c RWR shows more detail over the Russian RWR which has two extra features, elevation and power signal of threat. But i suppose the US RWR does show power by its distance from the inner circle. Clearly which is actually better is up for debate, personally i find them matched.
-
The Russian RWR has an important feature not on the F15c.. indicating whether the threat is above or below you. And has the signal power meter. These are a great features. Making up for other mentioned shortcomings. How does it become useless when locked up by a Patriot?

Several monitors in Su-25T (DCS World)
MadTommy replied to splash's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
In a word, No. You can spread your cockpit across 3 monitors. But you can't export viewports like you can in the Ka50 & A10c. -
Really? I don't think so.
-
I personally always preferred the Russian jets. Mainly due to their datalink capabilities allowing you to hunt with the radar off and therefore kill with IR seeker missiles without warning the very dangerous F15c. Also the similarities between the Su27, 33 & Mig 29a/s make them very easy to switch between. The Su-33 can take off and land on carriers... making it the most fun and versatile. Especially considering it can carry rockets & bombs too.... great fun multi-role fighter. The Mig 29 in my opinion is best true fighter.. but it's low fuel capacity is a big hindrance. Fly the Russian jets.. learn one and you have 4 different version to fly. (unfortunately the F15c has got all the eye candy upgrades...:( )

GTX680 and FC2.0 + AA and FPS
MadTommy replied to V.i.z.i's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Does the card's features and clock speed all work ok in other games or while performing intensive tasks? Can you set AA for other games? It sounds to me like you have a problem with the card or BIOS settings, if not try reinstalling FC2. -
There are three areas of the CDU you need to learn: OFFSET (OSET) - Allows input of 'Bulls' call. Bearing & distance. WAYPOINT (WP) - Allow creation of waypoints from various input formats. (From JTAC & FAC) FLIGHT PLAN (FPM) - Allows waypoints to be stored as a flight plan. Look these up in the manual & or search for youtube vids showing their usage.. there are several. Here is one example:

Copy & Paste groups with AI task can be problematic. (Warning)
MadTommy replied to MadTommy's topic in Mission Editor
Sorry no track. Didn't think of it.. was too busy trying to work out wft was going on. I tried to replicate it again but failed. But something went wrong with the copied groups behaviour previously. There is no way i know of of making 2 out of 3 Akatsia units fire in a group. (All 3 units where very close to each other & well within range). To fix the issue all i did was delete the AI task and add it again. Just gonna have to keep a eye on this.. maybe there was something else influencing the error. -
Just a warning to mission makers. If you copy and paste groups with AI tasks the tasks can throw up odd results, i.e not work. The example i came across were Arty groups with AI task > Fire at Point. I had a group comprising of 3 arty units.. the copied groups gave odd results. There would either not fire at all or 2 of the 3 units in a group would fire. I ran the scenario several times. When i deleted the AI tasks and reset them up with the same 'fire at point' AI task they worked correctly.

Yeah i know... seen quite a few over the years.. this one is particularity annoying due to its location. I hope they are on a list for some poor soul to fix! :)
-
This map error has been around for a long time.. be great if it could be addressed. The road over the bridge stops just short of the next road. It is important as this lies in a very strategic map location. This is one of only two bridges across the large impassable Inguri River that runs from the coast to the mountains along the Abkhazian/Georgian border. Lat/long location is: N42.43.815 E42.02.810 (I know adding offroad waypoints will get you around this error.. still be nice if it was reported and added as a fix for a future patch)

I'm with Grimes! :P Once, continuous & switched will be checked every second. Continuous & switched will continue being checked after the conditions are meet.. once will stop being checked once the conditions are meet for the 1st time. Therefore if you have a 1% random once trigger, every second it will be checked..with a 1% chance that it will be actioned. Therefore it will happen.. In 10 minutes it will have had 600 chances at a 100/1 of coming true. All about probability. Mission Start triggers have a one shot try.. so a 1% random condition only has a 1% chance of ever being actioned.

Everything is ok now... not sure why there may have been an issue. Temporary outage maybe. -

No worries, glad they are useful. Loosing all the margins/dead space does make a massive difference for these devices. It would be great to have the manuals in epub or mobi formats or similar. I had a look at doing this a year back.. but it looks like a big undertaking to do it right. Takes a lot of formatting / rearranging. I might have another look at it again, maybe for just some of the more important chapters. -
I expect to pay for the development of FC3.. but I'm surprised at the pricing for this, probably twice what i thought it would be and should be. Being the 3rd incarnation of Flaming Cliffs. IMO there should be a pricing structure that takes the previous purchases of Flaming Cliffs into account.
