  1. That is the key point so many seem to be missing... once the Flaming Cliff planes are in DCS World we can have a full scale airwar with no AI in the air... it will be excellent. Sure the FC3 planes wont be the same as the true DCS ones... but to be honest if they were my head would explode trying to learn & remember all the systems and HOTAS setups. :music_whistling:
  2. Thanks yo-yo.. but all you have managed to do i show me how little i know and understand! :music_whistling:
  3. Really.. in the UK? 3G? Prey tell with who....
  4. Thanks for the update.. i was kind of hoping the Flaming Cliffs aircraft would be released individually for maybe $5 each or something similar, bit like Rise of Flight...
  5. Cheers for the wee travel blog... Do love a good national discussion about food!... every country has it fair share of delicious and disgusting food normally in equal amounts! Germany, England & US are no exceptions. :)
  6. Thanks lads. I think because my FPS is limited by my CPU not GFX card when i change this setting i dont see any performance hit and comparing quality is difficult.. i simply don't notice the difference! (Depending on the module i run i get 35 - 60 fps no matter what graphic settings i use) You give slightly conflicting info above regarding the P51... as it has a mirror, is the mirror considered a monitor and therefore influenced by this setting? Cheers
  7. Ok I've searched the forums & GUI manual and to my surprise i cant find any explanation of what exactly the difference is between "every frame" and not every frame actually is. The resolution numbers from 256 - 1024 is self explanatory. But the difference between every frame and not is less clear. Can anyone explain this please. How does it affect quality? How does it affect performance? (As i don't really see any difference in either myself.) Also... Does 'Res. of cockpit displays' only affect in cockpit monitors, i.e MFCDs & Shkvals for example? Or does it affect general cockpit rendering quality? Does it have any affect in the P51 for example, that has no monitors? Thanks.
  8. Yes we're seeing the same thing.. and it makes sense.. if i had a signature the signature would take up that space and what i think of as dead space would likely disappear. The post & sig cannot be smaller than the height of the member info. Thanks for the explanation and taking the time to make me a wee graphic illustrating it. :) Now it won't annoy me! But i'll have to knock up a sig now :P
  9. Test.... no avatar. (Edit:.. Did make the posts smaller but still lots of dead space.. hmmm any other ideas :D. Its no big issue.. just slightly annoying.)
  10. Really? My avatar is 80px in height.. looks the same height as both yours & viper's.. and yet you don't have a load of dead space... Are you sure Panzer. I'll remove it a test it. Cheers for you help.
  11. One tip for Su25T is to give yourself lots of space to line up your targets. If you make an attack run extend much further than you would in the A10 before coming around for another run. The Su25 is not nimble and needs more time than the A10 to line up an attack. This is the main thing i always find when flying the Toad.
  12. Joe for your info i have TrackIr 4 hardware, TrackIr 5 software & Win7 64bit. All working in all DCS products. So in theory it should work for you. TrackIR software version 5.1.300 (Build 9945), Driver version 2.50.0.0 EDIT: one thing i've noticed is all my DCS products use the BlackShark 2 TrackIR profile, even A10 uses Blackshark rather than A1o profile.. maybe that is somehow connected..
  13. My understanding is that the availability of data and ED's access to said data/systems is key to what airframe they produce/develop. As i understand it if they can't do it justice they wont make it. Of course there will always be some systems kept secret on a modern military product. The only way to have full access for the public would be on a now completely redundant airframe. This is from long gone discussions on these boards... god knows where said post are now!
  14. Something that has been annoying me for some time that i cant figure out... i always have loads of dead space in all my posts. See below for more examples. I don't want to be hogging space on these forums but i cant stop it! :music_whistling: always dead space under my text before the end of the post.. i notice others dont have this wasted space. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1447083&postcount=4 http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1447634&postcount=8 I've looked at CP settings and can't see anything that influences this. Any ideas?
  15. Personally i don't need dead zones for my rotaries, they still seem rock solid after 4 years.. no spikes or such. Slider does have spikes and also does not have the little click when its in the middle which is so useful in the rotaries for trim. using the mouse wheel for Aileron trim sounds like a good plan. Thanks Ramstein & Viper. EDIT: In fact i'm using the POV1 L/R for Ailerons.. more logical. The slider is great for the flaps.

    DCS: EDGE

Tell that to Marc Bolan
  17. Welcome to the forums: Point 1: It is all up to the mission creator to make it clear in the title & description what planes are needed for a missions. Also for single player missions it would appear there is a file system to allow airframe specific missions to be located so they only show up under that airframe type tab. Missions creators could make auto install exe to place files in the correct location. (i haven't looked into this file system, but that is how it looks) Point 2:.. are you implying the systems on the DCS products are sub standard? You won't find a higher fidelity representation that the A10c or Blackshark. Everything from Flaming Cliffs is effectively a legacy product and should be viewed as such. The su27/29 must be 10 years old now.. need to wait for the yet to be announced fixed wing fighter under development for higher fidelity systems.
  18. Why does your pro clip not work with the latest version? Something is wrong there...Seems odd, certainly works on mine.
  19. Hmmm i had a look for them as buttons in the options but did not see them, must have missed them. Buttons will work. Thanks
  20. Ok X52 has 2 rotaries, perfect for trim functions, but there are 3 trim axis that need setting up. I'm using Joy_RX for Aileron and Joy_RY for Rudder but i'm a bit stumped what to use for Elevator. I tried the Slider, but it was very 'rough'. Maybe the slider needs tweaking, but has anyone got a better way to assign these 3 trim functions? Thanks for any ideas.
  21. Ok tried this.. running at less than native res and clicking away does not minimise DCS. Easy workaround when 'setting options'. Seems like running at native res in the GUI forces full screen... no big issue. At 1st i thought windowed mode was not working at all, but as long as it works when actually flying its a non issue for me. Cheers.
  22. Hmm.. what i am getting is: I've got two monitors, running the game in windowed mode, when in the GUI if i click on my 2nd monitor the game minimises. But when flying and you click on 2nd monitor it acts as it should and remains open. Implying that windowed mode is not functioning for me in the GUI. (annoying when setting up profiles when you want the list of key command to remain visible, and you have a poor memory like me!)
  23. My 1st attempted takeoff can only be represented by as series of s. Too embarrassing to post a track.
