So, first impression after many helicopter flight on the Sinaï map. I have compiled the most significant remarks and observations from our helicopter pilots (from the French 06th MHR helicopter virtual Squadron), generally flying at low altitude. For sure the map is great and it's already a pleasure to discover new areas. Thx a lot for the job!! - There are some really nice areas (the green zones) and some raw with boring flying (the desert) although this can't be entirely the fault of the map...sand is sand. - The trees are still far too tall for the buildings, but the mix of deciduous trees and palm trees is quite nice. - The urban and industrial areas are really well modelled. - We are disappointed by the quality of the rocky hills, they aren't modelled any better than in the PG map. - On the F10 map, it's not easy to identify the roads (in grey) and the Powerlines are only visible when the zoom is maximum (They could be visible on less zoom because they are used as "stopping lines" by the helos). On conventionnal maps, roads are generaly colored in red, orange, yellow and white (small paths in black) - Still on the F10 map, the SAM sites and helipads are a great idea, even if there needs to be an option to hide them (unless I haven't seen it). - In Hind the minimap is available on both scales cooooolll (even if I had the impression that on the zoomed map there was no jump when at the edge of the map). - In flight, it's very (if not too) bright, you have to play around with the options. In a way, we're in the ME, so it's normal for it to sting the eyes. - Important buildings are missing on HAÏFA and on other places but it was already discussed in this forum. - From what I've seen, the Helipads are mostly based on the same type, it could be interesting to have different type of pads like juste H painted on the ground,... - The windsocks are too close to the Helipads. - The airports are empty, no planes! For Military airports it isn't a problem (better than the very ugly static Mi-8 on the Caucasus map) but civilian airports are too empty... especially as we don't have much to fill them with...No large civilian aircraft, supply vehicles, logistical trucks,...It takes away some of the immersion...the case of Cairo International Airport is quite striking... So here's our initial feedback... All this, of course, in a spirit of constant feedback and product improvement.

I really expect that some bugs related to the last UH-1H (New engine simulation) will be part of the fixed things!

J'ai un palo VKB depuis bien longtemps et je n'ai jamais eu de soucis. Tu as essayé sur d'autres ports USB ?

Let me come back to the main theme of this discussion. Thanks to @BIGNEWY for sending the message to the development team (nearly 02 months ago), but I can see that there's been no clear response to the request and that the development team is no doubt busy with more important projects. It's a shame, because in the topic of improving communication I think it would have been interesting to get some feedback from the team... Especially as this has rarely been the case since the Hind release. For several months now we've generally been "surprised" by the new improvements available in the OB updates. Although I have to say I wasn't expecting much when I asked the question. It's clear that certain modules or new projects have probably the priority (no doubt linked to sales figures) while the community flying on older modules such as the Mi-24P, which are still in open beta, can't receive a minimum of information about the next stage of the project... For sure, when you're passionate, you always want more

Hi,
Did you see my post from yesterday ?Juste to know if we can expect a real collaboration between you and ED or if your products will stay "mods only"?
Thx a lot and once again many thxxxx for your work !!!

Military Assets for DCS by Currenthill
Razorback replied to currenthill's topic in Static/AI Mods for DCS World
Hi, Everytime than I am looking on your production I am really impressed!! For sure your mods are a real game changer for DCS and ED would do well to learn from it! As long as you have the right person, you can see that anything is possible... You have produced more IA assets in a few months than ED in 10 years! So....my question (and sorry if this subject was already mentionned) but did you had any contact with ED to implement all this in DCS instead of just having your work via mods? In any case, a big congratulations and thanks again for the time and work spent to make these assets which are all really interesting! When I see how slowly ED works on new assets, it's really sad (SA-22 announced 02 years ago but we still haven't seen anything, C-RAM system...nothing for months and so on...) I will continue to follow your productions with great interest! Thx again for your great work!! -
RAZBAM, ED, could you please not delay too much the F15E because for my part I'm starting to get saturated with all these videos related to this aircraft.... as if all the DCS community were only interested by this aircraft... I think that in terms of teasing, we can announce "good job well done"... and move on...

Hi Bignewy, So, it's almost a month later...did you receive an answer or a comment of the Alexander's team regarding a possible agenda for the Hind ? Everything that was announced for the Apache for April and May 23 has now a nice video from Wags while for the Hind we are still in the dark regarding the calendar... Thx a lot,
-
Honestly, this possibility would become a real « game changer » for the transport helicopter in DCS. It’s good to have some crew animations (like the crew climbing in the Apache) but it’s just a nice visual one. On the other hand if the fast-roping animation is developped, it could offer a real add-on for the game and in the missions…
-
That's what we need with the Chinook...and not only... It could be cool to have this possibility from the Mi-8 and the UH-1 Fast roping !

I agree, For sure, a great job was already done, especially considering the limited team that worked on this map. You really have to be passionate to have spent so many hours on this map. I have been in contact with the Razbam team I can assure you that they are listening the DCS community to improve the visual rendering of the map. Currently, the biggest concern is the size of the map. Unfortunately, they have to satisfy everyone and given its size, it is currently complicated to run the map correctly with higher details for small and medium PC configurations. Personally, I think it's a shame that the map has been extended so much, the work is much more considerable and the final rendering at low altitude is sometimes below what can be expected in 2023. Why not the idea of working on a part of the map with more details on the terrain (only on the Falklands)? It is a fact that for helicopter flight, even if the map is 99% accurate, there is still a lack of details. The Falklands are quite limited in terms of infrastructures and it's a shame to see that currently in these areas there is still a real lack of 3D modelling. But as I said, I know that the team is working day after day to improve all this and we have already seen some very nice and big improvements. We can only hope that this will continue in the future so that in a few months or years we will have a magnificent map that is atypical regarding the other maps already available in DCS.

resolved DCS crash when starting a flight as "player"
Razorback replied to Razorback's topic in Game Crash
Thx @BIGNEWYmy problem is now solved. FYI, it's working when you save the mission. If you don't save the mission DCS still crash... My MSAA was on 2. Now it's 0FF -
Ohhhh, many thanks for your help @BIGNEWY...please keep us informed

When I was speaking for the Mi-24P roadmap like the Apache... By the way, thxxx to Waggs for the Apache update (late Mar 23) I really hope to see the same for the Hind... Why are there different priorities (even I am sure that more people have bought the Apache than the Hind) ? The Hind was released several months before but we don't have a clue on what still needs to be implemented.

resolved DCS crash when starting a flight as "player"

Same issue : DCS crash when flying in VR as "pilot". Working fine when flying as "client". Repair done --> No change. ED, could you please check my Log file (from yesterday). Thxxxxxxxxxxxxxx dcs.20221024-124335.crash dcs.20221024-124335.dmp dcs.log -
Have you tried flying as "client" and not "player". From my side, since DCS MT, DCS crash in VR when flying as "player" but run normally as "player" whitout VR. Very strange

@BIGNEWYYou have to add the Mi-24P part in your initial message because it's missing...
-
Yep indeed... I am sure that I am not blind, so I cross cheched and indeed it was not mentioned on the initial message The Mi-24P Hind part was added later (probably an initial omission)... @BIGNEWYmaybe better to correct your initial message

Well, it seems that the community has some interesting ideas. I had hoped for some participation in this discussion from ED but it seems that this module is maybe not interesting enough to have a small reply or comment... It's good to share some work still in process (new helmet, gloves, watch,...) even if not really relevant but if it's to share zero news afterwards (even during many months), I don't really see the point excepted to get frustrations from the community... Petrovitch was improved during the last months (in my opinion, essentially because "George"s is improved as well), some bugs were fixed and some additionnal minor changes were added which is a good thing. I know that all the ED teams are working hard but it could be interesting to have a checklist of what has to be still developed for each module (not only for the Mi-24P). A sort of basic roadmap whitout any date of release but with just the job that has still to be done by the teams... The AH-64D has a clear roadmap of what is expected in the future, why it's not the case for the Mi-24P ? I think it's a shame to not have a roadmap for a module that is still in development... No news from Alexander's team since months now. During his last interview, He mentioned a possible implementation of multicrew for the Mi-8 (after the end of the Mi-24P development)...That's for sure not for tomorrow

Yep, thx for the tip...When the file is unzipped it's working fine! Thxxxxx

On the F10 map it's possible to read a coordinate (in different formats) when moving the mouse over the map. So it is very easy to send a coordinate to another aircraft from the map. But the opposite is not true! So it would be very convenient to be able to place a marker on the map in relation to a receiving coordinate. For example, my wingman sends me a MGRS coordinate, I look at the F10 map, enter that coordinate from a tool (placed in the icon bar above) and I would have a marker or landmark on the F10 map that shows me directly where that coordinate is located. This kind of thing is not necessarily essential with the most modern aircraft but with many others it would be very useful during a JTAC procedure, CAS, artillery fire guidance,... New tools have been added during last months (convert coordinates, draw tools,...) and it should maybe good to add such capacity... Thx a lot

I totally agree….I can’t understand this decision… More than that it’s a very basic weapon’ alredy modelized and easy to add to the Hind. More used than the capacity of firing 8 Ataka or to had a Kord in the cargo bay…
