  2. Well, I have purchased the Normandy map and the asset pack, although I don't really like the WW2 aircraft. I just wanted to support ED, because I think it's the best flightsimulator around. I would have preferred ED to finish DCS 2.5 first, but I'm not the guy who decides what they're doing. Flying around with the Dora in Normandy will probably be some fun, but I don't think it will come close to the Warthog or the Tiger. These aircraft were the reason why I started with DCS, not the WW2-stuff. :(
  3. I'll fly the Dora, because I like it's handling. Spit is a pain in the ass on the ground, so I don't really like it. But that's just my personal opinion. :D
  4. VC14 is installed. Without it DCS doesn't even start. Every other of my modules works, just F-5E has the mentioned problem. The problem occurs with others too: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3069205#post3069205
  5. Same problem here. Since the update today, my screen freezes as soon as I press "Fly" at mission start. I can see the cockpit but nothing moves on. Screen just freezes in the cockpit-view.
  6. I wonder when the Gunfighter will be available in Europe? On https://flightsimcontrols.com is no possibility to order the Gunfighter. You can't even read a word about it. That could be done a lot better...
  7. Looks quite ugly! I'm happy I bought the FW 190.
  8. The VKB Gunfighter seems to be a good alternative, as soon as the base and the Warthog adapter will be available. http://vkbcontrollers.com/?product=vkb-sim-gunfighter-base-only
  9. +1
  10. My personal opinion is: People who want to drive trains use train-simulators, those who want to fly use flight-simulators. Next step would be to implement drivable ships, submarines, cars and space-ships and no more time for the DCS development-teams for programming what they should - aircraft. Also, like others here said, I can't imagine it being fun to ride in a train while several aircraft attack you. Your only possibility is move up and down the track. AAA is not very effective, if the pilots can just drop their bombs on the track ahead of the train. Mission failed and over. :smilewink:
  11. The wingman will try to stay in formation with you. Before landing your speed becomes so low, that the wingman overshoots your aircraft an maybe crash into your plane. So send your wingman back to base (RTB) before landing and you won't have this sort of problem. The behavior of wingmen in DCS is not very smart. In the current version you will not be able to land together with your wingman - at least I couldn't. :( You may read a thread I opened here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=178137
  12. I suppose it's the amount of VRAM (GTX 970 = 4 GB, GTX 1080 = 8 GB) that makes 104th_Shooter's system faster. Don't think changing from an i7 4790 to an i7 7700 makes the big difference. I'm still using an i7 3770 and the cpu never was my bottleneck.
  13. Pitot, please!
  14. "Wheel brake left" and "Wheel brake right" should be something like the settings in the attached screenshot. Then go to "Axis tune" and set both to "inverted".
  15. Impressive! Will sure be a lot of fun flying it when ready. Can't wait!
  16. As said by the other guys here, version 1.5 with the free aircraft is OK for the beginning. As soon as you have accomodated, I would recommend one of the full modules with clickable cockpit. They are so much fun. A good module with clickable cockpit is the F-5E Tiger II. It's quite easy to learn and fly. A-10C is the best in my opinion, but it takes a lot more time to understand and use all the systems. It still is no problem if you really like the warthog, because there are good training missions and a very extensive flight manual. After many hours of training and :book: it's showtime!!! :smilewink:
  17. I agree with Enduro14 when he says the focus seems to be on WW2 stuff. I have tried some of the WW2 aircraft out (FW190 and Spitfire), but it's not why I started with DCS years ago. Rolling on the ground with these planes is a pain in the ass in my opinion. Especially the Spitfire drives me crazy, because I can't use the toebrakes of my Crosswind with it. WW2 is not my world, as said before and if I could choose again, I wouldn't buy these modules anymore. Now this is just my personal opinion, but instead of developing a new WW2 map and aircraft, ED should have concentrated on bringing out DCS 2.5 in a reasonable time.
  18. Good news and outstanding work!
  19. Will there be an adapter for the Warthog grip? Ooops, reading is helpful. Now I found it: "Newly developed adapters allow the Gunfighter to work with non-VKB grips, such as those of the ‘Thrustmaster ® Warthog ™’, or the ‘Defender Cobra M5’ sticks."

    F5 or mig 21 ?

I think that depends on what you intend to do. If you've been flying American jets before (like me on the A-10C), it's a lot easier to accomodate with the F-5 cockpit. When I take a look at the MiG-21 cockpit, it looks like an alien spaceship to me.
  21. Wait, is it April 1st already?
  22. The A-4E variant is OK for me. Can't wait to fly it. :D
  23. Thanks for your reply! Nice to hear it's already working.
  24. @ gospadin: According to German wikipedia the A-4 (version is not specified) was equipped with 2 Tracor AN/ALE-29A countermeasures dispensing sets with 30 cartridges each. The cartridges have a diameter of 36 mm and the dispensers were loaded with RR-129 chaff cartridges or MJU-8/B flares. The dispensers were installed in the lower rear of the A-4 (markings in the attached picture?). Passive countermeasures were provided by up to 3 Itek AN/APR-25-ESM pods with a radar-warning sensor each or by up to 4 Litton AN/ALR-45C(V)-ESM pods with a radar-warning sensor each. I don’t know how reliable this data is and if it is of any interest for you. The source of this info can be found here: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Douglas_A-4#Selbstverteidigung
  25. I could see a chaff-dispenser panel in your teasers, left of the gun-sight panel. Will the A-4E also have a radar warning receiver and a flare-dispenser?
