Square pushbuttons
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to JG14_Smil's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Yeah ditto on this being a expensive hobby. I was trying to order (on)off(on) toggles and 16 was going to set me back $60-70 and that was at reasonable prices. I still think its cheaper than getting pro pilots license and renting planes by a long shot! -
Cool stuff is always worth waiting for!

Black Shark appreciation
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to Stickers's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Havent had that much time with the sim but anything that challenges me to just get engines started is good in my book. Right now I'm just learning basic flight manuevers and trimming in general. But I have to add that this is the first true flight sim I've owned that used all 6DOF for TrackIr and the result is amazing and it really shines on my projection display. Thanks to ED for such an awesome sim although it would have been nice to have a working windshield washer resevoir........ j/k of course! -

Black Shark Terrain for LOMAC?
HitchHikingFlatlander posted a topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Wasn't there a way described a while back that you could fly the new terrain using LOMAC? I tried searching but didnt get the results I was looking for. Thanks for any help! Hitch -
DCS: Black Shark Multiplayer in Arcade Mode?
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to EuroOtto's topic in Multiplayer
Well if its like LOMAC certain missions force game settings. I think a lot of missions in LOMAC were locked and some werent, if you had the password you could change the settings to your liking. I could be talking out of misunderstanding though so take this with a grain of salt! -
1950 256mb VS 8600GT 512mb
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to HitchHikingFlatlander's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Yeah I think I'll swap them out then when I get a chance. I managed to grab three so my old PCs gonna go SLI (if possible) while the new one will go single 8600! Wish the new PC had dual PCIE slots....... dam! Thanks for the advice, got sidetracked for a few days and remembered I posted this lol! -

Sweet deal on the room CAT and cool job on the rudder pedals! That X-36 should show up just like it normally does. Gonna hook up with you for some shark action for sure! Trigger as always your project is outstanding you Norwegians have much too long of a winter! -
X52 TRACKIR and BS
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to RICARDO's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
As a word of warning on your approach it may not turn out like you envision and might lose the functionality of trackir. I tried this once with BF2 for aiming and it was more work than it was worth. Looking around with trackir is great but not so great with pinpoint accuracy while keeping your head perfectly still! -
Saitech Profile
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to Topgun505's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Precisely what I mean, I love their products but cmon........ And whatever happened to the original SST version (w/ X52) that showed you what button you were programming?! Arrrrrgghhhh! -
Does anyone have an opinion of these two cards compared to eachother? Some backstory, I already own both cards so I can try one or the other with no financial issues! I'm not up to speed on PC hardware anymore so thanks for any suggestions. Hitch

Saitech Profile
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to Topgun505's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I'll be creating one tonight but for the most part it will match the sharks cyclic and collective. I should add that since Saitek is mentally challenged when it comes to SST that you'll have to have the EXACT same SST version as the person your getting the profile from. I can never understand why saitek doesnt make SST backwards compatible with the profiles. -
X-52 X and Y axis
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to 159_Archer's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Do the obvious things inlcude messing with the deadzone. I'm not exactly the wiser around here but its worth messing with if you havent tried. -
Thanks for the comments Trigger! Heres tonights work hoping to be attempting to start the black shark! Heck maybe even crash takeoff! http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/2712476/Re_A_Good_Joystick_to_Hack.html#Post2712476 Then its off to figuring a way to scavenge the parts of this thing and turn it into something really cool! Right now this will hold me over without tearing the rest of the stick up.

Saitek Pro Flight Switch Panel
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to rviii's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I understand that but if you program the controller thru SST it shouldnt matter technically speaking. At that point the game isnt seeing a controller its seeing a keyboard well in theory at least. Cant imagine saitek would make a boneheaded move like this, its a waste of a decent product. -
