X52 Calibration?
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to Spyder228's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Yeah the Shark requires that you constantly set the trim in fligh. Glad to hear it worked, I've found that most issues in any flight sim are usually due to operator error! -
WOW you guys make me want to make a dedicated build rather than a generic one to fit many sims. Awesome work!

X52 Precision slide zoom shake
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to spike2450's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Coming from someone whos taken joysticks apart do it ONLY if you have no problem buying a new one if you screw up something. I've managed to put the sticks back together or not (in the case I just wanted the electronics inside)! -
X52 Calibration?
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to Spyder228's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
You must not have trimmed your helo prior to take-off. Further, you dont use auto hover on or near the ground, actually it turns off the auto pilot systems when you get in the area of 10ft. Before take off move your stick forward slightly and trim then re-center the stick quickly you can also bring up a joystick indicator (can't remember key combo ATM) that shows you where all your axis' are set. -
Options Menu- Addon-Voice Comms to Headphones
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to Amnot's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Yeah hes right this is how I run all my sound thru 5.1 and just my voice comms thru the headset. -
I feel pretty stupid because of all the friendly ground units I've lost to AI fire not to mention all the times I've been shot down by them if they can't hit the side of a barn on excellent level (BTW Evil how do you set that) how can they manage to hit me? Kuro are you just here to start stuff? Whether you are or are not it would be a good idea to know what you're talking about first. The comment that this sim still needs a lot of work as well as many of your comments are very un-informed.

Thats what I mean. Its just that re-centering the rudders takes a little more thought and is easy to forget!

Oh dear... another rookie pilot.

^LOL me too last night I just told myself I gotta look in the manual or ask someone. I thought it may be a glitch! Yeah I'm a noob too! -
Whats up with that series stuff, I liked a UK show called "Flying Heavy Metal" with none other than Bruce Dickinson as host. That was pretty interesting but only made 6 shows? Now I'm an Iron Maiden fan so of course my judgement of the show was a little biased! I'll definitely look at getting this series thru how you say "alternative avenues"...........

Yeah definitely go there I think the majority of simmers who use these products are commercial type builders so check there. Another good place to look afterwards is http://www.mycockpit.org !

All detailed discussions aside I think the original issue with the thread poster was that he was trimming while applying rudder. He mentioned in one of his posts that his rudder indicator was a good portion to the right which to me would indicate he trimmed with pedals or his pedals are not calibrated/have issues. The former problem has happened to me many times and I have to either recenter the pedals and re-trim or reset the trim entirely in flight. Of course I'm a noob so I could be completely off (consider this a disclaimer)!

X52 Precision slide zoom shake
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to spike2450's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Its a known issue. The fix is to use you SST software to break the axis into several bands and then set those bands to the various zoom settings in game. My slider is set up in game and I get the same issue usually I just move it a little bit either direction until it stops. -
Wow man it never ceases to amaze what guys can pull off! Great looking set-up! I'll bet you got a lot of great comments!
-
We have Manpads which is essentially a shoulder fired missile its not exactly an RPG in the sense your thinking. But hell damn near anything with a gun will shoot at you once your in range so I think the sim is pretty good in this regard!

what is the best setting for dcs black shark?
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to Bee_Sting's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
^Its up to you to decide what will work for BS I prefer the whole nine yards: HOTAS, rudder pedals, collective, TrackIR etc........ but if your happy with a joystick all by itself only you will know! -
Black Shark Manual Hard Copy
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to stelios2000's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
^Well I would have mentioned that but Jim already had mentioned it as well as correcting the shipping process. But are you saying we should settle for the likes of UPS, FEDEX, DHL, etc..... to not take care of our goods in shipping? j/k -
Bass Shakers / Tactile transducers
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to Rockeyes's topic in Home Cockpits
As for the Buttkicker hunt around for prices at times they've gone for under $100 here in the states at least. I think my brother got this for $60 new from www.woot.com a few years back. My unit just went out by the way after over two years of use and the support has been great so far trying to figure out the problem. Hopefully the fact my went out won't turn you off as the unit has been heavily used. Its a great pc. to have its cool feeling the blades spinning, touching down, engine running and the occasional flak burst or better yet the thud you feel a split second before the missile blows you up! -
I still think your problem lies here!
