Saitek Pro Flight Switch Panel
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to rviii's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Can you not you use the SST software to program it for BS? Not a good comparison but in LOMAC the only stick commands I programmed in game are for the axis' everything else is programmed in SST. But I dont know really, in theory though it should work. With SST it should be able to have keyboard commands programmed into that will in turn be recognized by BS. One of my home built panel projects I'm working on uses a Contour Designs Shuttle Pro2 a controller used in video/audio editing apps. Its not a game controller by any stretch but comes with its own version of SST like software to program it like a keyboard encoder. -
Absolutely get Modman at www.lockonfiles.com the one stop shop for LOMAC downloads. There are so many mods out its hard for me to suggest what will be good for you but check out this thread for some great ideas/mods. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=28186 Hope this helps, as an extra note when you first go in to set up your stick/throttle/rudders you'll need to delete all the commands the game sets up for you and your input devices automatically, one at a time. I hate that myself wish there was a way tp delete all the commands for any given game device! Hitch

Not quite a pit but does the job...
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to Shrubbo's topic in Home Cockpits
Looking cool there Shrubbo. I have to second the thought on a real car seat vs race seat (or even ejection replica) while the two look cool they're not very comfortable! I use a modded Playseat for my pit and the the generic racing seat is very uncomfortable (even if its not a real seat) not to mention some racing seats arent adjustable just like my playseat -
Q on editing General Statistics of a pilot

I dont want to start another thread either and since were talking about failures too, I've been meaning to toy with them and was wondering what are realistic random settings for them to be set if any? Would your engines have a 1-3% chance of catching on fire in an A10 in real life? I dont think so but would like to set the failures up realistically. Any suggestions on that? -
There goes a pair of jeans and a monitor but thanks still. Awesome stuff!

I agree with Shrubbo you have to do some programming or dialing in (a better term) to get it set up right. Once set up properly it works like a charm. I dont use mine on an office chair but in my mini pit. I built a special mount for it and buttoned up all the loose ends thru my pit to get rid of the unwanted shaking/vibrating. Personally I think when mounted right in a simpit is where the BK shines and its hard to think of simming without now. In all if you spend the time setting it up it works like a charm and its well worth even the full price. See below for how I set it up, about $10 in parts to mount it!

I took the plunge!

^Wish you could back that up with some evidence as my X-52 still works great after two plus years of heavy use. If yours went bad after a few weeks then there must have been a defect with that stick only because the majority of owners have good things to say about it. If you just got angry because you had problems and wrote the X52 off you should have tried replacing the stick at least, as with any product some have problems but that shouldnt represent all X52s. Its like LOMAC Gold, I bought a version where the second disc didnt work because of a manufacturing error, rather than call the software a piece of garbage I called and got a replacement disc and everything was fine. -
Nice work! I really like the direction you went here very similiar to what I have in mind. Nice wireless key/mouse set up too, I'm really happy with mine! Did you end up having to put the PC inside the pit?

Graphic layout for Saitek X52/Pro
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to CiniKo's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thanks so much, ever since Saitek changed SST to not show the graphical interface theres been no easy way for me to do something like this! Is there any way you could make one without the background for us poor people without color printers?:pilotfly: I'll live with this this excellent version in any case! -
Understanding ILSN
HitchHikingFlatlander replied to fitness88's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I think there is a landing nav mode you switch to which gives you landing waypoints for ILS. I'm pretty sure you just press the nav mode button twice but I could be wrong. Someone else who has more experience I'm sure will be able to help you out. -

Isnt Triggerhappy using OC for his pit, I could be wrong but I thought I read that somewhere. I'm not too interested in LEDs/LCDs at the moment since I think thats asking a bit much on my part! Keepin it simple to just switches and such! -
